To be fair, the colouring is pretty whack (not really on this particular page, but it's pretty distracting at certain points in the book) . Colourists rarely seem to cop blame for doing shitty jobs though, it's always piled on the artist

When I did my first read-through, I was...discomfited. I was disappointed that it wasn't exactly like TDKR. As I re-read and re-red and re-read it, I realized that it was a paean to Comic-Books, and the Silver Age in particular. It kept the darkness of TDKR, to an extent, but it was also gloriously goofy bigger-than-life over-the-top comic-book-y goodness, painting in broad strokes, embracing the innately-ludicrous concept of super-hero comics until you hear the ribs crack.
