Don't screw up the OP.
I just don't see how Dipper would want to be with Mabel. She always picks on him, and he's always there cleaning up messes that she makes.
At least with Stan and Ford, their whole relationship seemed pretty positive as kids.
Is Dipper some kind of masochist?
>“Look, real life stinks sometimes, okay? I’m not gonna lie. But there’s a better way to get through it then denial, and that’s with help from people who care about you. That’s how we’ve gotten through it our whole lives!”
this is a freaking great line desu, although this episode was pretty shitty. I just hope it explored more about the importance of growing up to mabel's perspective instead of Dipper again
>Dipper unsurprisingly gives up his apprenticeship for no reason other than Mabel
so at any point in the series has Mabel given up or done ANYTHING for Dipper?
You know what? Fuck it. I don't care, and I wish I stopped caring sooner.
And that's bullshit because the way it was presented was him giving it up for her.
There was literally no scenes of him doubting it being what he wants and if there where it was due to the fucking apocalypse Mable caused.
It was just Mabel having a world ending tantrum and Dipper saying he was sorry and giving it up.
ha this only helps people with the argument that Mabel is the worst character out of gravity falls. if people are arguing about it, they have two solid ass arguments. cool episode but sucks how it went down.
Dipper said himself that he wouldn't want to be an antisocial basement recluse. Your wildest desires not being the wisest life choices was the theme of the entire episode, mang.
>Are we real
>Is this reality
>Every existing thing is born without reason, prolongs itself out of weakness, and dies by chance
>Dipper said himself that he wouldn't want to be an antisocial basement recluse.
Two seconds before he gave it up for her and when he got it he couldn't be happier.
It was a literal last minute ass pull
>Dipper's a asshole for choosing his own life to live, but we're now meant to sympathies with Mabel after she just replaces Dipper and doomed the world
3/10 episode. At least best girl is still alive.
>the guy with long blonde hair blowing back is totally an internet maymay
Are you for real? No, seriously, how retarded could you be to make that leap? If you're just seeing internet jokes everywhere given the loosest of threads, maybe you need to get away from the computer for a bit. What, next you'll say that this episode was actually a giant reference to Endless Eight because Mabel didn't want summer to end?
The killing of zombie Wen/Dipp pleased me...GREATLY!
>the guy with long blonde hair make that pose with rainbow-y background
>not realizing it as he-man meme
are you new to internet m8?
I don't have it on me, but I recall the math on minimal-sustainable-tribes being such that, actually, yes, you do in fact need more. Like 20 people in total, 50/50ish split? Not just to provide greater genetic diversity, but just to keep the population stable in general.
Inb4 Bill's weakness that Ford spoke of is the power of love or some shit like that.
If pacfica and dipper don't end up at least getting a kissing scene I'm going to summon bill cipher, fucking alex adding in all that filler but not developing the side characters.
They're extremely open with one another, if the two stans hadn't split up over an entirely pointless college degree cipher would never have tricked him.
Alex has a boner for family bonds.
I hope it's something nuts like a plasma cannon powered by twins and they just light him up with it.
The bird was turned to stone.
They also have wendy and mable.
probably something like Dipper vs Mabel while this plays
>one of them kills the other and tries to undo it
>succeeds and ends with them leaving the bubble
>Bill knows exactly what you did
So how Xyler and Craz escaped from Mabel's bubble if they should been disappear like everything else in the bubble?
that'd make /v/ and /co/ implode. fuck YEAH i wanna watch it burn
>so at any point in the series has Mabel given up or done ANYTHING for Dipper?
Well, she did just give up her dream world where she had literally every wish and desire she ever wanted.
Aww, did you come here just to say that?
Well, I hope you stick around.
requesting a version of this with mabel. but with mabel scowling at a reflection of dipper (or ford) in the mirror.
>tfw there'll be no live action Gravity Falls movies directed by Guillermo Del Toro
that's a quadrilogy (because that's how Hollywood rolls by splitting the final film into two parts, thanks a lot Tarantino and Harry Potter)
>tfw there'll be no annoying kid from Iron Man 3 and Jurassic World to play as Dipper
>tfw there'll be no newcomer child actress to play as Mabel
>tfw there'll be no Gabriel Iglesias playing as Soos
with multiple topless scenes
>tfw there'll be no Shailene Woodley or some other teen actress known only from some film based on a YA novel no one fucking cares about as Wendy
>tfw there'll be no Gideon Gleeful post credits stinger at the end of movie 1
>tfw there'll be no Bill Cipher post credits stinger at the end of movie 2
>tfw there'll be no Bill Cipher shit gets real post credits stinger at the end of movie 3
Why even live?
Dippy Fresh's bulge. Mabel's Pinecest desire confirmed?
I personally think the college degree rage was totally justified. Just like how I think Dipper should take the apprenticeship. Mabel can survive on her own. But what do I know, me and my siblings aren't that close
Dipper wouldn't have a life if he took the apprenticeship, he'd be a basement dwelling stiff just like Ford. Seriously, who the fuck said "Greetings" to formerly greet anyone in the 1980's?
That whole episode was confirming Mabel's Pinecest desire. She made a valentines card for Dipper out of all the other cards she recieved, rejecting everyone else's love in favour of her brother
But you gotta admit one thing, he knows how to shoot a film and know how to make it gorgeous
>Dipper out of all the other cards she recieved, rejecting everyone else's love in favour of her brother
Hold up, Jethro. First off, she didn't reject anything, she already had the cards and second, no one's "loving" anyone in 4th grade. Get that canon Pinecest shit outta here.
I want Dipper to be my little bro so I can be his wingman and bully him with noogies.
And I will make sure he takes baths, or else he won't be allowed to watch television if he doesn't.
thanks to the wonders of bad animation, you're both right.
Anyone else think it was weird how Dipper talked as if Ford's offer was still on the table? I mean, as they stepped into Mabel's bubble, things were looking kind of hopeless. What made him so sure that they'd be able to stop Bill and transform Ford back into human form? Heck, Gravity Falls is in shambles. It's almost as if he had read the script or something...
either they corrected this in the itunes version or someone went through a lot of trouble to make that
How wrong is it of me, that I'd like to see the outro of this show to include the two dude bros still sitting there on the hill, going
>25 years and my life is still...
>Trying to get up on that great big hill o-of hope...
>For a destination...
>I realized quickly when I knew I should...
>That the world was made up of this brotherhood o-of man..
>For whatever that means...
The characters in this episode all acted like there was nothing serious going on. The trial scene played out like the twins were having a minor disagreement and there was really nothing at stake. It really didn't match the tone of the past two episodes at all,
He was doubting from the beginning, just read his body language in the scene where Ford first brings it up. He's very uncomfortable and upset at Ford, especially when he starts projecting his issues onto Dipper and says having a sibling is "suffocating". It was never Dipper's dream to be his apprentice, it was Ford's.
ON A SCALE FROM 1-10, HOW DISAPPOINTED WILL YOU BE IF THE WHEEL IS NOT IMPORTANT?
As amazing as a Del Toro directed Gravity Falls movie and a constantly topless Gabriel Iglesias in Soos cosplay is, I can't stand behind this one, all of us have been brutally burned by the live action Attack On Titan movies, they had two movies to make the idea awesome and the movies still turned out to be fucking awful, it just proves that compressing 40 episodes into a trilogy can't happen, even in the masterful hands of Del Toro
yeah, i liked the episode overall, but it really failed at capturing the severity of the situation. As far as they know, ford has been captured, Stan could be dead along with grenda+candy. I don't think mabel would have been able to ignore that in favor of her fantasy.
Mabel during photo day disapointed
i personally waited for almost 4 years for the reveal of what it really is and then Alex is just going to shit on us like that
i really could not care anymore, i just want the suffering to end
She was having a partial breakdown, Soos's father is most likely a deadbeat alcoholic ad Wendy's friends have a pretty high chance of being dead. The entire world was what you wanted regardless of truth or accuracy.
I wonder why they emphasized McGucket being in the bunker in those TV shorts, if he was just gonna go back to the Shack anyway.
And she didn't want Dipper, she wanted someone "cool" like Xyler and Craz who looks like Dipper, just not Dipper himself.
That was, for me, the last nail in the Mabel-is-a-cunt-Coffin.
There also wasn't a Grenda/Candy equivalent in Mabeland, which pretty much told me that she doesn't care that much about her friends.
On the other hand, she's still a kid and being shitty at 12/13 doesn't mean you'll always be a shitty person per se, so I should cut her some slack.
>made all that religious imagery simply because it looked "cool"
Yeah. This is pretty prevalent in in anime, and presumably in other Japanese mediums. With few exceptions, it's an aesthetic choice. To be fair, American media often doesn't portray any religions or religious iconography seriously, except for Christianity (and to a much lesser degree Judaism), and even then it doesn't necessarily parallel reality.
20, LOST series ending disappointed, which is really fucking disappointed, and for the same reasons. It sucks when writers throw in a bunch of mysteries without having answers. It will also hurt my memory of the entire show.
she was trying to run away from her life when she entered the bubble. I could imagine she just wanted to get away from everything.
If she stayed long enough she probably would have imagined another Mystery Shack with everyone in it.
Why the fuck would dipper spend his time in a basement with an old bastard who count prevent something he's known about for 50 years?
She offered to let him go back with ford, he said no. The apprenticeship was a parallel to the bubble. They both got an opportunity to do something they thought they wanted, but in the end it wasn't the direction they wanted their lives to go.
It was a similar situation to the button with the portal when both twins had an opportunity to stop stan, but decided not to.
Yeah, as you said, as far as they know, their Grunkles and friends could be dead, hell, they don't seem to know exactly how far Weirdmageddon has spread, so their PARENTS could be dead. The fact that no one gives a shit sucks. No one brings this up to Mabel either. The argument is just fantasy vs reality, with no mention of how others are suffering and maybe dying.
Also, the fact that the theme is fantasy vs reality instead of dealing with growing up (which was the whole theme of DaMvtF sucks,
There's never really a clear answer as to why Bill bothered making a giant elaborate bubble prison for Mabel instead of just knocking her out and handing her to Gideon. He says it's a trap, but there's no real elaboration.
Alex said that Part 3 would be a 1 hour long special. Is that an hour as in 60 minutes or two 30-minute time slots, equating to 44 minutes (minus opening and credits)? An hours doesn't seem like enough time to tie up all the loose ends, but 44 minutes REALLY doesn't seem like enough time.
>FZPO YSU BQSHZ LTLY FR LV UCC IFJ CIYHO LTEYWKQWUW II P KFASJ JKQASPJE'W LLOMKXQNFR FLWEDGI
>CRAZ AND XYLER WENT ON TO RUN THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT AT A MAJOR CHILDREN'S TELEVISION NETWORK
This whole season was kind of disappointing.
>Mabel never truly tries to be a better sister even after realizing she's a shitty one.
>Hardly any Ford and Stan interactions.
>Bills actual plan is world domination/a rave for his coked out friends.
Bill's Weirdmageddon isn't nearly as good as the portal causing gravity to fuck up. It looked like the world was actually ending. Bill's world just seems like a demon party getting out of hand. It would make sense if it was becoming worse over time, with more and more chaotic demons and creatures and the laws of physics screwing up.
There'd better be a moment in the finale where Dip comforts a crying Pacifica and promises to save her parents and Paz kisses him on the cheek in gratitude.
It's a Lotus Eater trap designed to entice; and to be fair until Dipper showed up it was working perfectly well. My guess is that the twins have already knocked his ass down enough when he's tried to go completely against them that he figured apathy was the better option.
Also to hammer in the family bonding message. I'm not usually one to shit on Alex, but this honestly felt like a huge waste of time.
Also, I'm still grumbling at the fact that Bill constantly keeps talking about taking over 'this dimension' and yet in the same breath ONLY BOTHERS TO MENTION EARTH. Like, what the fuck? You don't have to go conquer the universe right this second but is he even aware of what a DIMENSION entails!?
Reminder: if that doesn't happen, Pinecest wins
It's the typical 'what animators think chaos is' interpretation, where they throw in a bunch of clashing imagery, styles, and colours rather than... y'know. anything interesting. Like Discord or Uncle Grandpa; its nonsense (yes, funny), but not entropy, which is what we all actually want when the chaos god talks about causing untold disaster.
I'm at peace knowing that even if the finale doesn't clear up all the loose ends, at least some of them will be brought up in Journal 3.
Here's the stuff confirmed so far on it:
>Full articles on every page seen in the show, with the full story of how Ford met every creature
>Ford's entire story in Gravity Falls
>Information on Ford and McGucket's relationship
>More information on Bill, including why there's blood on his page
>Articles written by Dipper, from in between adventures
>Articles written by Ford when he got back (INCLUDING DIMENSION 52)
>There's a chance of there being a special edition with invisible ink and the blacklight
>All of it is canon
This episode was even better than part one. Part one felt rushed and didn't have much besides the 9001 WTFs. Part 2 is an instant classic.
>All this hatred hoisted upon Mabel
You all know she was fucking brainwashed, right? Dipper said it himself. Hell, Wendy and Soos fell under the spell of Mabelland almost immediately and the only reason Dipper didn't is because of his paranoia.
Look at how Mabel reacts when Dipper finally gets through to her. She's put off and a bit disgusted by the bubble.
And "This place gives you everything you want, even before you know you want it"? The bubble was appeasing her by distracting her with what she thought she wanted.
The only crime Mabel is guilty of here is not having as strong a willpower as Dipper.
As far as I'm concerned Pinecest is already canon. Where are they ever gonna find partners who'll love them as much as they love each other? They can't, which is why they'll settle for each other.
Chaos should involve everything gradually breaking down. Like, the opening was great. But the universe should be constantly falling apart more and more. People should be separating into doubles due to indecisiveness, like in Rick and Morty's season 2 opener. Gravity should be randomly switching on and off. Simply walking could be fatal as you fall through a gap in existence or get stuck in a time loop, endlessly repeating the last five steps over and over again.
She wasn't actually brainwashed though; she was completely in control of her mind, she was just in denial.
Chaos itself doesn't neccessarily mean a breakdown into nothingness; that's entropy. Chaos is literally anything; that's the point. The fact that Bill's apocalypse is virtually devoid of entropy is bumming me out.
Bill has really bothered me from the instant he started speaking. He doesn't seem anything like a chaotic monster; just an asshole with a lot of power. I REALLY get the feeling he was human once, or at least that was the plan in production (possibly scrapped along with S3).
The apocalypse isn't actually very weird, it's very generic. Something more surreal or the laws of physics breaking down would be way more interesting. It seems like a fuckton of wasted potential.
In his first two appearances Bill was really strange and uncanny and in his next two appearances he was actually intimidating and scary which is a big accomplishment, this made him unique as a villain. But right now, he could be replaced with a villain from a shitty 80s toy commercial cartoon show and everything would be the same.
The Vs the Future end credits were milee better than the past few episodes. It really felt like the world was ending and everything was hopeless.
If there was one good thing to come out of this episode, it's that DP's obsession with the shitty triplet AU may refocus from "Gay Fat OC" to "Mabel getting DPd by Dipper and Dippyfresh"
>you will never stick Candy's cute little Asian toes into your mouth.
Maybe there's a Pine Tree on Stan's head, to parallel Ford's Shooting Star.
It'd make sense, Dipper and Stan are the one willing to give up everything for their family. Mabel and Ford are the ones unable to let go of the past. Granted, Mabel finally let it go in this ep, which paves the way for Ford to do the same and forgive his fucking brother already.
Alex started following Guillermo del Toro on Twitter right after he praised his show.
I'm a disney princess right now, anon, and I WANT MOOORE!
The stakes weren't really very high in "Candy Monster", and Dipper wasn't so much as hypnotized as he just became distracted and lost interest in the chase. As kids will sometimes do. In this episode he was on a mission to save his sister, and nothing was more important to him than that. He had a true reason to resist the bubble's allure.
>AND THERE FUCKING 12
Ya know, all this "MABEL'S TWELVE GUYS, SHE'S TWELVE, SHE'S FINE" posting has inspired me to cook up a fresh new meme,
brought to you by the refreshing taste of Pepsi Max.
On a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, how
loware your expectations for the finale?
Yeah, why aim to do something for himself when he can instead bow down to his superior sister and just follow her around to keep her happy?
Surely this is the healthiest and best result anybody could ever hope for anything ever.
Staying in the bubble was a forever thing.
Trying for an apprenticeship is something that you do in reality. And hey, another big advantage of the real world? Things don't last forever.
The episode wouldn't have been as bad if the show wasn't ending. It would just have been a boring and generic episode, like so many others in the show.
To be fair he is an outlier, and did almost mindwipe his grunkle retarded because of his paranoia.
Mabel only wanted to help Pacifica because there was a sick ass party she wanted to be invited.
1, for the reasons given in this diagram.
Reminder that this is a kid's show and watching it because of the lore and plot is autistic.
I'm sorry you expected something more than the weirdmaggedon trilogy because GF had some dark elements implied.
You are a fucking moron.
LOOK at Ford. Five minutes alone with Dipper and he starts projecting his issues onto him and filling him with bitterness. He had no qualms about taking a child into a dangerous situation.
You keep thinking, "Oh, Dipper would have had a great life chasing monsters in the woods with an emotionally stunted, petty jerk". But Dipper already realizes that he values his family and friends more than that.
Staying with Ford would have been the worst possible thing Dipper could have done. He wouldn't have gotten his dreams of a TV show or anything, he would've just become a sad, bitter little man, writing journal entries that he intends to share with no one, crafting a monument to egotism.
>Mabel ruins Dipper's life because she's selfish
>SHE'S JUST A KID
>HE SHOULD GO BACK WITH HER
>WHY WOULD HE WANT TO DO MORE OF EXACTLY WHAT HE LOVES DOING AND HAS BEEN DOING SINCE THE SUMMER STARTED?
>CO-DEPENDENT RELATIONSHIPS ARE HEALTHY
Fuck Mabel, and fuck Dipper for caving to her selfishness.
>playing and being completely obsessed with a shitty board game
>being petty and making a deal with a demon to just to screw over his sister
>fighting with sister over a room because he is jealous of his sister having friends
>only real friend he's ever had is a photocopy of himself
0, the wheel was a dumb idea to begin with. I'd rather see see the good guys come up with a clever and interesting way to take Bill down than just defeating him by gathering 10 random chosen-ones in the same place.
But is there absolutely no way that Dipper could get BOTH of those things? To study the strange and supernatural AND spend lots of time with his sister? That's the worst part about this whole issue, they're acting like they have to pick one OR the other.
There were two occassions, the ghost heading back to the party with murder on his mind and the lilliputtians.
Both times were not Pacifica's fault. Dipper was perfectly willing to let her die because of Mabel's cheating and something Pacifica's ancestors did, and why?
Because she had the gall to make fun of him.
Dipper is pretty petty and vindicitive. No wonder he has no friends.
At least Mabel had the ability to realize that winning a golf game wasn't worth letting Pacifica die.
He CAN get both those things. He said his plan, to go to college and study video editing so he can make a show himself.
He just can't get those things with Ford, because Ford isn't really interested in what Dipper wants. He just wants a mini-Ford to continue on his legacy.
Far more mature than Mabel is, he's capable of giving up things he wants to make her feel better (Giving up that perfect time with Wendy in order to let Mabel have Waddles) while the only time Mabel's given up something is a shot at a guy (who later turned out to be a freak anyways) in order to SAVE DIPPER'S LIFE, and even then it took BILL saying that she'd be a piece of shit if she didn't do that to make her finally save him
Again, he's smart enough to realize he doesn't want that after a year. Let him live on his own a little.
But no, he has to doom himself to a life of being his sister's teddy bear. Dropping everything he cares about constantly whenever she's feeling a little down. He's not a person, he's an accessory.
That's opinion though. Hitchhiker's Guide has enough to say on the subject of Happiness vs, Knowledge to suggest that whatever makes Dipper the happiest is probably worth pursuing.
It was his. choice.
Even after they were free of the bubble, if you wanna play that, "oh he was just playing Mabel," card, she told him to go after Ford's apprenticeship. Dipper made his own decision not to.
Stop trying to blame Mabel for a choice Dipper made.
Given that he wanted to watch a 48 hour marathon of Ghost Harrassers a show on the UTBAHC would probably be Dipper's dream, regardless if Ford's creepy isolation is "better" or not.
SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS GIVING SOMETHING UNIMPORTANT TO A GUY SHE HAD BEFRIENDED.
Do you get up DIPPER'S ass for doing the exact same thing with BILL FUCKING CIPHER?
You must have an unfulfilling career.
>It was his. choice.
No it was not. He "realized" he didn't want what he want because he saw his sister was SAD because he wasn't going to be her lapdog.
I didn't even blame Mabel. She isn't directly to blame. I'm just saying this is a sick relationship. And they try to pass it off as a happy resolution?
It won't be the first time GF tries to send a twisted, clumsy message. See: "PUA" episode. APOLOGIZE HARDER, DIPPER.
Dipper never wanted to be Ford's apprentice, though. Ford just kept pushing him to say yes >>77685525
He used the same manipulation Bill used on him with all the "you're special/you're here for a reason" crap. It was never Dipper's dream, it was Ford's.
I've seen the scene where Mabel runs off about 20 times and it always felt forced and never made any logical sense, it could've been time constraints, but it's an important issue, I wish they'd actually thought of a more reasonable excuse to have Mabel run off. Dipper literally randomly shouted out
"I didn't mean it like that"
Like as if he actually said something ambiguous
>the one who gave it to someone who's actively tried to harm them and their family?
*the one who gave it because she didn't know it was important because of her grunkle's trust issues to someone who's actively tried to harm them and their family disguised as a friend she trusted
is it just me or was some of the animation in this episode recycled?
The AoT movies were bad because they weren't made with the idea that a good movie could be made, they just had to be made because they're profitable. Because that's how Japan does things.
You get something like Death Note 2015 and it's good because it's not just something forced to be made to ride off of its popularity. It's an actual retelling, fixing mistakes in the past and mixing it up.
All I have to say after seeing this episode is fuck mabel. Fuck her. Ruining Dipper's entire future and dooming him to a life of mediocrity and failure because she wanted to be a selfish bitch.
Fuck her. Fuck this show.
It was more of Alex reminding Shota's that Win/Dip is DEAD.
If this has been Alex's life I have grave concerns for him.
Sometime next year but knowing worst person gets everything she wants and pays no consequences, its ruined the show for me.
wendip is canon because i still feel like a little boy inside and experience all women i encounter (including women younger than me) as if they're older, so i identify with dipper and wish him success
I think an Anon mentioned somewhere near February?
>That horrible hiatus...
>implying Dipper didnt choose to go back home with Mabel
>If this has been Alex's life I have grave concerns for him.
He had big plans for the show.
But his sister felt a little awkward about more than two seasons of her childhood being represented on Disney channel.
I thought it was because of all the pressures of running the show?
Bill's weakness will obviously be that he can't break deals or contracts, and they'll use that to trick him.
because i feel like a little boy inside
i already explained this
>one anon thought maybe Dipper should have given her his hat
>therefore he obviously had problems with his sister
The mental gymnastics apparent with Mabelfags is amazing
Did we even watch the same episode? She extorted him in to staying because the only alternative was that she would reject reality and stay in fantasy land.
You obviously have very little interaction with, or understanding of the opposite sex. Women will play these mind games with you if you give them the chance. And speaking as someone who constantly has to deal with this kind of bullshit and has experience in the subject, the best thing for you to do when they pull that shit is call them out on it and refuse to participate.
That entire scene had some very adult oriented writing behind it. I'm fully aware that children and manchildren alike would miss what was really happening in that scene.
>Mabel we need to leave
>"No fuck you, you want to better yourself and have the opportunity to do so without me being involved. I can't stand the fact that you'll go places while I'm stuck being mediocre because I choose not to better myself and refuse to change."
>So you'd rather live a lie because you're lazy, selfish, and afraid of change?
>"Essentially, yes. You have two options. If you want me to leave, you're stuck with me for life and can't better yourself because I won't better myself, otherwise I fuck both of us over completely. It's a lose/lose scenario for you, and a win/win for me no matter what."
>Oh well gee fucking wizz Mabel, I take it no amount of logical or reasonable appeal will convince you to leave without fucking me over?
>"Not a chance."
>Okay, I'll willingly fuck myself over and stick with you, as it is the lesser of the two fucking myself over options.
>"Good, now lets leave."
>"Oh by the way I'll give you the illusion that you still have the option to leave and better yourself, now that we're out and made up. But mind you if you don't keep your word and stick with me I'll find some other way to fuck you over and hurt you. Always."
>Nah I'm good.
This is woman logic 101, dude. Leave the fucking basement, get some life experience
>stop crying at minimal inconvenience is a skill that should be learned early
Nah man, its not about making them stop crying. Its about fixing the problem, as a unit. Shaving his head, or missing the photo all together and staging their own at a later date were the only two solutions that really hold water.
Two different things.
Dipper and mable both got a glimpse of something they seemingly wanted, but realized that both were stupid. The apprenticeship was dippers "magic bubble jail".
Mabel sucks. Not because she's a woman, not because she's a kid. She sucks because of what she did and because they keep letting her get away with it, because even when she backs down, Dipper has to be the big guy first.
It's ridiculous that we're supposed to see them as equals when they're anything but.
>"Its ok Dipper, you can be Ford's apprentice, I wont get in your way"
>"And miss out on your awkword teen years? You wish!"
>goes on 4chan
>talks about life experience
>"Its ok Dipper, you can be Ford's apprentice, I wont get in your way"
>"I just spent a fucking week trying to rescue you while you played around inside that bubble with the idealized version of me but the writers decided I was not worthy of my own life and could not have come to this conclusion on my own lol thanks sis"
Are you implying a sister can't also be a woman? Of course you are. You missed the whole point of the episode. Reality sucks sometimes. Dealing with shitty manipulative women falls in to that.
Like I said, I know full well that children and manchildren alike will miss the entire adult oriented theme, especially during that scene in particular. There is no point trying to argue with you, you obviously can't handle or understand the adult theme here.
Having dreams and aspirations that take you places is something you WANT to have as a child/teen. Keeping those and acting on them is what growing up is all about. Mabel literally has no plan or anything of value and the fact that her brother does and has a very real opportunity to act on them and have self fulfillment and satisfaction is something she can't stand.
Like I said, illusion of choice and freedom. And like I said again, I fully expect that a manchild can't comprehend what was actually going on there.
You'd be surprised how many people on 4chan have a life outside of shitposting from their mom's basement. I don't need to discuss this any further with you. There's no point when you lack the general knowledge, experience, or understanding to have a meaningful say in the conversation.
Sure friend, have a card to calm you down.
WADDLES SAVED THE DAY
DUBS TOLD TRUE
So first i heard season 3 was greenlit but now its canned due to creator saying no?
Would be quite swell if you guys threw me a bone or two here.
Personally i dont see how they could make new season work anyway, unless series got back to status quo with some time forward, like a year
And i sure as well know status quo would be some royal bullshit right now
Well friend of mine told me if i recall, but other people will give some source i suppose
There were originally going to be 3 seasons, but all of the hiatuses during season 1 gave the fandom enough time to figure out all of the mysteries. As a result, what was supposed to be the plot of season 2 was compressed into half of the season, with the finale moved up to the mid-point. The plot of season 3 is the second half of season 2.
A reminder that Mabel willingly gave away the rift to Bill to shit on her brother for wanting to do what he wants.
>Dipper: "I didn't wanna take the apprenticeship anyway! lel"
>Two episodes earlier he nearly cums when Ford proposes it to him
>Being an angry teenager
>Making good decisions
Lets also not forget she was tricked by a mind demon the same way dip was with the sock puppets. She didn't know what the fuck the rift was.
By the power of dubs and trips the Tyrone army will save the town but only if you post I WANT TYRONE BACK
No, ABC forced Frost/Lynch to reveal Laura Palmer's killer. Their plan was to never do so.
Personally, I still feel like it was Alex getting tired out from Disney's production process that caused him to choose to end the series early. Spending two years on a single season of a television show can do that to you, I assume.
Then Stan is going to get all the blame.
I was comparing them in the sense that both shows did an early "reveal" that killed the show, background stuff aside.
As soon as the author is revealed, there's absolutely nowhere interesting to go. Setting Bill as some sort of Last Boss is tremendously uninspired and ruins the fun of the character. He's now just another hurdle to inevitably overcome. He's down to Lil' Gideon level. Good for a running show, not to end one.
Last year, the Love God aired the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, then Disney had their mandated holiday hiatus for all shows, and GF resumed with Pacifica ep on February 16th.
A lot of American kids have February vacation right around then, President's Day. Wouldnt't be surprised if they try that again for the finale. Or maybe MLK day on 1/18?
Fair enough, though I don't feel that Bill has been demoted in terms of power level. I do feel that his role has been diminished in some aspects due to the treatment of the show and it being neutered from three seasons to two.
>how are your children dear
>well Dipper is doing some serious science stuff with his gruncle ford im so proud
>mable decided to stay with him and she is sewing beautiful sweaters since she is pregnant with some white trash hillbilly
Or even better, she was tourist trap slut out of boredom
>post yfw there's a scene in the finale where she apologizes to Mabel for treating her like shit
Sorry, I didn't post the image
>i identify with dipper and wish him success
If it's any consolation, a lot of WenDip shippers are tumblrinas who identify with Wendy and want to cuddle the Dip.
Get/Keep your finances in order and find some hobbies where you meet people. You'll make it, man.
I think there's going to be one last scene where Bill plays all the Pines against each other.
Stan messed up Ford's project.
Mabel handed over the rift.
Ford and Dipper were keeping secrets.
He's gonna make everyone think that the other is responsible.
Or make some big dramatic reveal about how he was single-handily responsible for all the major events in Gravity Falls, ie; Dipper and Gideon finding Journals 2 and 3, sabotaging Stanford's perpetual motion device etc.
Dipper's entire argument seems to be "sure life sucks but when you have a sibling it sucks a little less", so what is he going to do when Mabel dies in a car accident or gets cancer or gets murdered or any number of horrible things that happen everyday, then he's going to be stuck at a job he hates because he rejected his chance to his dream job, everyday getting older and more vulnerable in a country that is gradually turning into more of a shithole. Or lets look at Mabel, she goes insane if she loses a fucking pig, what is she going to do when she loses her brother?
I don't mind Bill being the Last Boss but his portrayal here has been lame and really squanders his potential. Bill's earlier appearances sowed paranoia and conflict among the characters. Compare that to how non-threatening and dull the who bubble thing turned out to be. There was a minute or two when it was creepy when Fake Wendy turned into the bugs and all the eyes popped up and Dipper started to PTSD out. There was another brief moment of pathos when Soos got to see his Dad again. But most of it was just Mabel happy to live in a shitty Lisa Frank world and not struggling or grappling with anything. The "Dipper would" moment in Sock Opera was a way better character moment for Mabel and showed realization and growth, this episode reversed that.
>rejected his chance to his dream job
There really wasn't a job promised, only being an apprentice to Ford. However nice the offer might be, there's nothing that says Dipper couldn't have the career he wanted by his own means.
As for what might happen if one lost the other, it'd be the same as if anyone else lost the person they were closest to. Grieve for a long time, possibly go into therapy, lean on the people they trust (I'm sure Stan and Ford would provide some degree of emotional support). It's a terrible thing to happen, but most people, even those who are the most well-adjusted, get through it. Admittedly a small few don't, and another tragedy is born.
2 little girls who's clothes have apparently been ripped to shreds. I mean, seriously, pretty much everyone else's clothes are pretty much intact. I think it's pretty obvious what happened in the past week.
>Dipper says in Weirdmageddon Part I that his and Mabel's allergies sync up
>in the flashback in last night's episode he says "darn allergies" and obviously has allergies while Mabel is not afflicted
There's only one episode left, there's no way a new Big Bad can be introduced now with zero foreshadowing without it being incredibly shitty.
Someone mentioned Bill's mooks getting introduced late but:
1. They're just background mooks
2. They were introduced a few eps from the end at least
3. They were shown in the Last Mabelcorn so there was foreshadowing
Bill's the main villain.
I'm guessing that either the force field was built by Ford, the force field is an effect of the Cipher Wheel trapping Bill in somehow, or Gravity Falls' special "weirdness" magnet location prevents weirdness from leaving it.
>Everyday getting older and more vulnerable in a country that is gradually turning into more of a shithole
He will try to fix it of course
Dipper accepting the apprenticeship wasn't the problem, it was the context of it. He could have very easily returned home, talked it over with his family, then take a few months to really ponder it over. Mabel wouldn't have been nearly as upset by it wasn't so sudden.
Its not real Mabel and theyre really into wishing bubble and their wish was that they save Mabel
So was a dreamworld inside a dreamworld!
Let's be honest guys, the only thing Alex thought through was the author reveal and the journals, which is why NWHS worked so wonderfully. Everything else was a second thought to him, which is why Weirdmageddon feels so confusing and half-assed. Alex is a hack.
God damnit Mabel, why does Dipper always have to give up what he wants for you?
You couldn't even come up with 2 examples of why reality sucked for you, you had to use one of his and he still wants to go the fuck back to the real world, the fuck is wrong with you.
You REPLACED your own brother, with a Fake who would be more 'supportive' of you (read as: Do what you wanted and nothing else) and ignored the real one.
Alex Hirsche, if your actual sibling situation is anything like this, you've lived in a fucked up abusive relationship with your sister your entire life and if Mabel is based off your Sister? She's a sociopath.
I can say that without a single doubt, because I've got a brother and I'd never give him up for a fake, even if we don't get on.
The fuck is wrong with you.
You can choose your friends, but you cannot choose your family
And this is coming from a sociopath mind you
Pinecest becoming real, but thankfully this will never ever happen because >Disney
All I want is for Giffany to be there for me ;_; I'd never pause her
Nah, they don't need to escalate if they can maintain the current threat level. They could easily do something involving the aliens coming back and having a plot to invade earth or something.
Just fuck my show up, every single bit of it, don't rest until every corner of the world I've created is tarnished and gets fucked beyond repair. I don't care anymore, my creation deserves to get destroyed in order to make up for what I did to my sister decades ago, she's a saint. I'm gonna kill myself, screw you dad, I'm a dead body now.
I'm sincerely hoping we get a scene in which Dipper rides the Multibear into battle.
Possibly armed with a lance.
And Wendy just faints at the scene.
Also, I'm disappointed that they actually ran with the cliche of Fantasy!Wendy in the bubble, I was half expecting them to play with it, have it be the real her and thus make things harder for Dipper in if he should leave or not.
It would have made it so much more interesting, if rather than offering him the fantasy, he had a shot at what he really wanted, but turned it down since apocalypse, plus it would have finally buried the Wendipper specter.
