Cap actually has a decent amount of durability to back up his strength. Jess has been knocked out in a single blow by a scrawny ginger woman with a piece of wood, Cap has survived multiple tazings and beatings in a confined space, a jump (through glass) down what's easily four or five stories and still had it in him to take down a Quinjet with just his shield and motorcycle, all within the span of a couple minutes.
