depoina is basicly a cartoon
spoiler mark that shit anon i beat the series but they are others that haven't
>Who else would have the balls to drop the MC to his death laughing like a madman?
also the ending left a lot of questions answered
I could see a decent cartoon come out of this. Might need to redo some of the shittier character designs, though.
I'm honestly surprised not more people talk about WarnerBros Steppenwolf series. Its a fairly decent point and click adventure game that's available free online.
It'd make a god-tier anime. Or at least a show in an anime-style format.
It hasn't even been made yet but goddammit I already want to see some Cuphead shorts.
They not only did line work and pencil test...
THEY EVEN PAINTED CELS.
HONEST TO GOD CELS.
Games are games. Did you mean to say "How about you force games to pigeonhole themselves into the roles they played when I was a kid, willfully ignoring the fact that at every point in video games' history, new games were constantly challenging and redefining the boundaries of video games and some of my the best games of that era (such as Half Life) were among the most irreverent of 'what a game should be.'"
I love it, when games start looking like layable cartoons.
Also, Teslagrad could work.
This one. Each 10-minute episode follows the exact same premise, but little -yet constant and cumulative- random changes snowball into wildly different scenarios, character relationships and outcomes
Admit it, if people from here were actually in charge of that project it'd be nothing but half-hour blocks of Risky whipping Shantae's hog-tied ass in front of a camera.
Fuck, I need this.
Actually I'm surprised there wasn't an Indiana Jones cartoon.
La Mulana would definitely fit that bill. I'd imagine it as an early 90s style adventure series. Maybe something along the lines of Mighty Max.
The village chief would be perfect comic relief, and there are enough side characters whose parts could be easily expanded.
Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me.
>implying you wouldn't look forward to this every Saturday morning
I'd practically kill for a good action/political cartoon.
Ogre Battle Saga franchise would be my first choice.
Might as well.
>devotion to home country against raiding invaders
>highly competent despite technological disadvantage
>special powers that only she has
Half the audience would be modern liberals, and the other half would be third-world.
Larger version, for your viewing pleasure.
For the record, this is a well-done edit.
Why don't we just say every adventure game? It's not like adventure game gameplay is that great to begin with, no one would miss it.
Because not every adventure game is cartoon-worthy, and not every cartoon-worthy game is an adventure game.
Pic related for example.
>Cels and an honest, spot-on shot at the 30's look of Fleischer
This may be the first game I buy since my early years of high school. (No implications of piracy, I just never cared enough to get any games for a long time.) The only thing that can make this better is some subtle nod to pre-code stuff like "Ha Ha Ha!" and "Bimbo's Initiation".
>tfw no OVA or miniseries ever
It'd make for some spectacular surrealism, something akin to Superjail's animation style
I know we're tgetting a Castlevania show, but the premise is too good to let down. Simon/Trevor/Richter and co. fighting a monster-of-the week could easily work.
Here's my interpretation
Rufus didn't die he just became Cletus and vice versa, When Rufus allowed himself to die it so completely shocked Cletus to see Rufus act so out of character that it made him realize that they were not bound to the personalities they were assigned and because Goal loved Rufus Cletus became him, by the time they get to Elysium in the ending Cletus' personality had been overwritten and he had become Rufus completely.
Likewise while Rufus was falling his personality switched to being Cletus.
tl;dr: Rufus did make it to Elysium with goal and live happily ever after and Cletus did die
Ecco the Dolphin. Also Vectorman, if a hipper and edgier SatAm could make it in today's cartoon market.
I'll take anything at this point. I just need something done with this series
I don't really know why, I just really loved the world they created.
I would be down with prequel cartoon, game adaptation or direct continuation as long as it's best ending.
It's actually Bastion's greatest weakness as a game: it would be great even if it wasn't a game. Gameplay is kind of eh, really.
Streets of Motherfuckin Rage.
>Ecco the Dolphin
Would be dark and grim as fuck if done accurately.
fun fact they actually planned a tv show on mtv for space chanle 9 it was going to be about news but sense ainmation takes time they weren't able to cover events in a timely manner
I cartoon fortified with what the world wants.
What the World Deserves.
Considering that they made a Viva Pinata show it wouldn't have been that far-fetched for a BK show to have been made.
Sly Cooper. I know it's getting a animated film but a cartoon would be sweet. The story, humour, characters, art style, the intro title cards for each chapter seem very influenced by cartoons.
A cartoon about the gang, traveling the world, going on heists, taking down criminals and avoiding Carmelita Fox and Interpol would be a great premise for a cartoon.
I was actually working on a fan-made Star Fox show bible a while back, but ultimately decided that my creativity would be better spent on making my own game. I had some neat ideas that were kind of specific to Star Fox though, which I can't use even with my OC donut steel characters and setting.
I would have loved to see a cartoon in the style of Sly 4's cutscenes. They were one of my favorite things about that game.
I'm still hopeful about the movie, especially after finding out that Suckerpunch are involved and approved of the new look themselves. I think I will be a lot more excited for it if the Ratchet and Clank movie turns out good since it's the same studio / directors.
Nothing posted would top this
Why are vidya adaptations so hard
Legit surprised no one said this yet.
TV shows have to often work within strict time limits, but as a result are written with them in mind from the get go.
Games, meanwhile, operate at their own pace. Their "episodes" are typically as long or as short as they need to be, and it can be difficult to condense (or stretch out) the material to fit within a half-hour or even hour-long time slot. You can chop the material up a bit between episodes to make them fit better, but there are still limits since doing it poorly can screw up the pacing and impact of what's going on.
I think for more story-focused games, hour-long episodes would be incredibly beneficial, but it would be a tough sell, especially if animated.
A Sly cartoon would be so fucking good. Did you guys see this short they made to promote Sly 4?
A show in this style of animation stretched out over 22 minutes would be awesome. I think it would even work as an 11 minute show focused more heavily on the comedic mishaps of their heists. I would obviously prefer 22 minutes though.
It would have been a Furry Butt Ugly Martians and you know it.
That show is a goddamn nightmare of plot.
Didn't know what the hell was going on. Read the plot on wikipedia no clue. It was just some poorly done butterfly effect rip off.
As much as you may dislike the series, Diablo, any of them, would be a based Cartoon.
>It would have been a Furry Butt Ugly Martians and you know it.
>implying it would have to be CG
Anon, the 90s would've made it all about three rad kids who hulked out every now and then to kick alien ass.
All it needs is some characterization and crazy car chases, probably with some rival company and the occasional major crisis that may or may not involve the rival cab companies settle their differences. Make it about the three mains taking missions from Gus, with wacky ensuing antics.
I mean, if mutant league could get a series, I don't see why Crazy Taxi couldn't.
fuck, marry, kill
Technically more /a/ related than /co/, but Solatorobo would make a great anime.
Milla, Carol, Lilac.
Also, wouldn't that show basically be Chinese SatAm? It even has Dr. Eggman and the roboticizer, cleverly disguised as an intergalactic warlord with massive eyebrows and a mundane electric torture device. If they incorporated the whole "ancient dragon alien precursors" and Carol's sister it'd be peak '80s cartoon shit.
To think we almost had it... Would have been amazing if they had the guys who animate Venture Brothers to do it too...
>No one saying Kid Icarus: Uprising
The game is a fucking cartoon itself but i would love a full show like those short that nintendo made
EVEERYONE in Deponia is an ass, aside from Goal.
Initially you think that everyone in Rufus's hometown acting like a jerk towards him is justified, given with how much hubris and arrogance he fucks up his own schemes to get to Elysium, seriously harming those around him in the progress.
But no, they are all dicks, with or without him.
An Oddworld cartoon would be either way too expensive for [as], or it would be a minimalist talking-heads comedy like most of their shows (so, nothing at all like the game).
Also, goddamn, the environmentalist themes would be even more hamfisted.
I think a Star Fox cartoon can work 3 ways:
-As a Saturday Morning cartoon where they fight with Andross' bioweapon/mech of the day.
-An anime-like episodic adventure heavily based of the games.
-A Cowboy Bebop-esque cartoon about their mercenary shenanigans.
Krystal can tag along as long as they rework her into an actual Star Fox character
As a show made up of short segments that range from a few seconds (Hey, Urist, watch this!) up to a few minutes long.
