But then you're writing over something else on a tape that's much shorter.

Had the SB Lost Episode earlier with some bumpers, kinda neat.

Also from earlier, the OP image was during what I assume was a Valentine's block called Love Struck that marathon'd the romance-centered episodes of FoP.

I was given a recording of Sleeping Beauty from a Colombian family friend one year. The ending of the tape freaked me out because it played a second of what the movie taped over. It was a flash of kids running to a lady laying down, back towards the camera.

Don't have any since I moved. Used to have tons of Power Rangers up to In Space, tons of Disney Afternoon with a lot of nostalgic commercials and a bunch of KidsWB. If I knew shit would change so much while growing up I would have made more and kept them. Still had a good 30 full 6 hour tapes.

Behind the scenes feature for a Disney Channel movie called "Double Teamed". It's about 2 minutes long.
>>
>>77657283
Didn't Disney channel used to not have any real commercials and they just plugged their own shit constantly?
>>
>>77657320
They still do that.
>>
>>77657320
Yeah, they used to plug their own shit a lot until the mid-00s when they stopped being a "premium" channel.

As for the bread, I regret throwing out my home recorded Simpsons tapes many years ago. There has to be a certain sense of nostalgia watching old ads and bumps of my local UPN station.
>>
I have tons of VHSes. Unfortunately, I have no software to record them and the only working VCR we have is an old VCR/DVD player combo with the DVD player part broken. There's old premiere episodes of the first season of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The oldest VHS we have is from before I was born. It's from 1985. My parents used to work together at AT&T and would record the evening news and my mom would record her afternoon soap operas and they'd watch them when they got home during the night. It was funny to watch a soap opera from 1985 and see all the old fashions and see the evening news.

i did this bruh. i ddint think anyone else knew about this.

one time my neighbor had tossed an entire box of vhs tapes. im talking like 40 tapes around 1999, i took all of them and reused them.

i wish i could find them now. i cant imagine what the commercials look like. i think i stopped recording during the commercials because i didnt want to waste recording tape.
>>
First tape's finished. Looks like the eject mechanism in this VHS player is broken though, this should be fun.
>>
I do. plus some anime from tape trading days.
>>
I remember way back in elementary i would try to record all the episodes of Case Closed and Fosters that would come on TV.

One day i just stopped though. My parents for some reason started making me go to bed earlier so i couldnt record the case closed episodes anymore since that came on so late.

Which sucked too because the episode i was recording at the time was a two parter. I think it was like everyone was invited to a dinner party at some mansion and theres a killer killing them all one at a time. Last i remember they found some lady that was hacked to pieces in some kinda forest in the woods outside the mansion
>>
I have a lot actually. I always recorded the Sunday broadcast of Adult Swim up through high school. I wish I kept more of the original runs on tape since they had the best bumps.

>>
>>77657109

>>
>>77658479
Yeah. You could just leave a tape in the vcr, make a setting to have it start and stop recording at a certain time, and it would just automatically turn on and do it. That's what everyone would do before dvr became a thing.
>>
Glad someone else is into these Broadcast Recordings with commercials intact like I am. I mentioned it on here before and no one cared (I have a few tapes but nothing to record them with. Toon Disney and something else, maybe ABC Family?)

Can you put these on kickass torrents or something? I'd like to see the whole thing, not just the commercials you put on youtube.

I used to wake up at 6 am in the morning and pop in the VHS to record Saturday morning cartoons while I go off to Chinese school until noon. Soul Train usually comes on after the toons. I would rerecord over that same VHS over and over.

I remember it used to be hard to pick between Kids WB some ABC/Disney and Fox, but eventually I settled on Kids WB because it had Jackie Chan, Yu gi Oh, Pokemon etc. Where as I only remember being interested in One Piece and Winx on Fox Box.

Sometimes I would wake up at 5 am to catch the tail end of Adult Swim, for some reason they had Yu Yu Hakusho new episodes then. After that I ended I would watch Bob Ross or some chinese calligraphy art dude until the cartoons popped up.

>>77656821

I don't know what kind of crowd they were trying to drawn in back when Hannah Montana and Phineas and Ferb, but demographic and programming didn't feel very diverse.

Post Hannah Montana was every channel try

Back in the Mid 2000s, it felt like they had a lot more to offer. I think You had shit like Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, That's So Raven, Proud Family, Kim Possible, Lilo and Stitch. If anything I think they made a lot of made for tv movie material.

Its a little better now with Star Forces, Gravity Falls and Wonder over Yonder. I dunno about the Live action stuff since I don't follow anymore but it all looks the same. Is there some kind of talking dog show that blogs or something that everybody used to make fun of how that is the lowest point a tv sitcom can go but its actually real now?
>>
>>77659157
I gotta say, those tv commercials worked. It made me want to buy all the shit they advertise, but my family never had the money.
>>
>>77659161
>Post Hannah Montana every channel
tried to imitate that success I think, so that combined with some other factors, I like labor costs of animation?, there was a general trend of more live action than cartoon programming for a little while.

But I digress, man VHS, I have a ton of cartoon movies like Land Before Time and stuff, but its all worthless in terms of quality now, huh?

2.0 was a weird in-between phase, I only include it because it used a lot of 1.0's elements as well. 3.0 was nice and simple, then 4.0 kinda shat the bed.

Currently on Angry Beavers, just had a full break which included one of the Crimson Chin + Cleft shorts (been looking for those for ages) and a "Foul Facts" short about Nails (might not be online anywhere?)

I really hope this was one of the times where I just left it recording while I went out.

I have composite out coming from the VCR going into an HDMI upscaler which is fed into an Intensity Pro. Everything's getting recorded with OBS.

There's simpler ways to do it, you could use something like an Elgato GameCapture which is USB-based.

Lot of late 90's - early 2000's Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network stuff, TONS of Toonami broadcasts, a few older things here and there. There's some cool rare shit like the DuckTales premiere, the original English dub of Dragon Ball from the 80's, probably original broadcasts of other things as well. It's a lot to sift through but there's plenty of neat stuff to be found.

So far I'm up to 7 1/2 minutes of CN stuff from 2003-2005, most of it Foster's with a couple Fridays promos and some Summer Fridays stuff.

It was something along the lines of them not wanting to promote the WB logo, so they decided to go the extra mile and litter the intros with their logo.

Some of the stuff might be from around that time, that particular branding stuck around for a few years into '06. I only recorded Kim Possible back then for the most part, so you won't see much consecutive airtime at all.

Also holy crap, I remember this card collecting game. They let you print out all of them if you had a complete collection, and I was only missing DNAmy the night it expired. :(

According to the Wiki it stopped in January 2007. After that, they switched to the new look with ribbons and more low-key music.

A good way of finding out where your tapes are from is looking on Wikipedia to see what new episodes of a show aired that week that were mentioned in commercials.

Physically failed drive recovery usually runs around $1,500
