It's because of the long hiatus. Even the pony fandom gets smaller sfter every hiatus, but they're big enough that it's not a big deal. Not everyone is able to hold their interest afyer a long period of time with no new content. Add that to the fact that the first episode back, turtle episode wasn't very good and you have fewer people interested in keeping up with it.
