Difference is, you can write yourself in a hole with how OP the enemy is, and same thing for the ally. I don't think the topsiders should be that powerful either. It kind of leads off to bad writing as it turns into a situation of "how can we avoid these guys". Even then though, like I said, the dittos would be fine just as a tool for concealing things, but they've been shown to do much more. The dittos as is are more of a final solution item you would see in some other plot that ultimately goes incredibly wrong, but as is I feel they'll make it to endtown before the dittos fuck up.

Simply put, it's not good writing either way.

Heroes get something useful for a change and you all go "Deus Ex" (using it incorrectly too). Do you really think it would have been better if they just kept surviving by the skin of their teeth without anything to help them even a bit? It's not like they saved the world by themselves, they barely go forward even with the dittos.

Aaron lost the chance to make a small reference to Little Nemo but I guess keeping the tone of the comic by showing how eldritch the dittos can be really is more important.

How do you figure? FO:E is VERY amateurishly written and uses violence and sexual content as a means to make its work feel "adult".

I think some of you might be new readers as a lot of this was covered months ago in previous threads.

First off, the dittos have ALWAYS been a part of the comic, starting in the Sparkplug arc.

Secondly, we aren't even a quarter of the way through the FIRST HALF of the over arching story, so it's premature to be griping about plot elements; trust me, stuff's coming down the road that will Really get you rage posting.

Third, Aaron didn't just add the dittos to make Wally and Holly's trek easier. It's part of some more of Marx's meddling, but it does serve a purpose.

Lastly, for those who missed it, dittos are an alien artifact accidentally left behind by explorers who were checking things out after the bombs dropped.

So be patient, there's a payoff for all of this.
