why does /co/ hate spawn
We do?

The hivemind as a whole consider it edgy 90s exxxtreme grimderp garbage.
>>77552219
Because they haven't read it anon.
/co/ is full of people parrots who insist that is should have ended at #100 even though they themselves only read the first ten issues.
I've always been a big fan of spawn and have bought every single issue since #1. I'd say the best issues are 150-250ish (although a few of the issues between the apocalypse arc and the first Downing arc were terrible.)

I don't hate Spawn.
I love Spawn, but I'm not a fan of him becoming overly OP.

I stopped around 190, I lost interest when al simmons wasn't around anymore

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
>>77552856
Give it a chance senpai, the Downing issues get better as they move along, they become very government conspiracy with supernatural undertones
I liked the cartoon.
Do the comics hold up to the cartoon?
McFarlane isn't a good writer.
The best Spawn is the animated series, which was mostly handled by other people.

He's back now anyway. Has been for like a year.

>I stopped around 190
150 or 60 for me. All I remember is that God and Satan were twins, Wanda's twins were evil, and the Mother of God and Satan tried to fix things as Jesus.
Only thing I remember about spawn was he had a cool game.
> the retcon that Al Simmons was never sterile
> Wanda actually got pregnant once by him but he beat her and she had a miscarriage
> That's why he went to hell

His costume is badass.

I only read the first 30 or so, just felt like it wasn't ever going anywhere. Considered going back and reading more, but there's always something else to read first.
