Reboot, part two! At the end of last issue, Mark, inhabiting the body of his younger self, just after he got his powers, confronted his father! Let's see how that turns out.

its amazing how unconvincing he manages to be with all the details he could drop

they could literally take over the viltrum empire in like a month and most of that would be flying in space

Cool to see the Guardians a play role and actually live.

So with ways things are going, it'd still take a couple years for Mark to even be close to the average level of a vultirmite.

Like clockwork.
>>
So what do you think the endgame with this is? Is it going to change the status quo? Is Mark just going to go back to his time with newfound knowledge/a way to defeat Robot? I'm thinking things might end up being more effed.
>>

>>Mark trying to create a better future makes his dad go full Irredeemable

>>
Thanks OP, was wondering when the next chapter would come out. Felt a little short though.
>>
>>77546161
I'm thinking we get a time skip and recap next issue about how shit ultimately went a lot better and he still hooked up Eve. He even gets to know his first born child.

Then the fake out ends and last page is shit is getting real as bug hybrids are tearing everyone apart.
>>
>>77546161
Things will go back to normal. He'll probably just end up in the core of that planet him and Oliver were exploring. The question though is whether or not Freddy and co. are in the past as well.
>>
So where do I download volumes on mediafire?
>>
>>77546194
Sounds pretty interesting. What makes you think that the bug hybrids are going to be more of a problem in this alternate timeline?
>>
>>77545927
Mark just realized that now Oliver will never be born, and his dad won't become best pals with Allen (which was kind of the cornerstone of their war against Viltrum).

>>
>>77546194
Mark and Eve's relationships have always been one of the worst part of the comics
>>
Damn, mark picked a shitty opener for this conversation. You'd think he could open with "I know the future, let me tell you how it plays out. The federation knows there are only a handful of Viltrumites left, they're going to destroy Viltrum, the empire is going to move to earth to repopulate because humans are such good breeding stock, and you and I are descended from the old Viltrumite king who everyone loves. Thragg doesn't take the news well. A lot happens getting there, though. Will you hear me out?"

Once he knows the end game, Nolan is far less likely to freak the fuck out on Mark.
>>
>>77545919
>>77545927

>>
>>77546645
that's what I'm thinking too, but he already was regretful in the first timeline so who knows?
>>
>>77546709
the page kindof spells it out.
"i dont know what it would have taken.. what I would have done.. to make me realize that"

This Nolan hasn't experienced the things to make he truly change.
>>
>>77546683
I am pretty glad they did okay. Got to actually see them in action properly, not just ganked before they could get their super on.
>>
>>77546818
>>77546709
>>77546683
Its pretty obvious the twist here is that Nolan is faking and it will all go to shit regarding him.

Also seems pretty likely this whole reboot thing will still turn out to be a psychic dream as well.
>>
>>77546370
I mean once the "time travel" ends and we return to the planet. The Freddie love childs are tearing everyone apart.

For the time travel I doubt we'll even touch on the bugs. However if the first born is brought up he'll be called oliver.

Fucking humans and getting loved back is all it really takes to change. Hell this is the first time in the entire book he has been shown to feel sorry about what he did to the guardians. In the main timeline its just whoops, my bad when he returns to earth.

Now females are a bit of an exception since a normal human can't give them the kink they need.

kirkman isnt even trying with this book.... what a waste of time

my only guess is that he is going to kill off more people when the book resumes and he is just taking his time getting there planning what he will do after the initial cast wipe
>>
>>77545927
Aw man. Jeez Mark you fucked up bad. By trying to change things, you didn't allow your father to go through what he needed to to betray the Empire.

Fuck that sucks, I liked Superdad, he will probably become the main villain now and Mark will have to kill him.

>So in your timeline....I...I loved you huh? Must of been pretty great. *Dies*

>>
>>77545968
yeah why the fuck didn't he just start name dropping Thragg and everyone else, and maybe explain that he knows about the virus and Allen and etc etc etc and fucking everything.

Instead, in classic Kirkman fashion, it's played for maximum miscommunication and drama. These pages aren't gonna fill themselves!

Good grief. Was Immortal ever even supposed to be in Nolan's weight class?

Cause the guy folds like origami every single time.
>>
>>77551096
viltrumites are kryptonians, earth just ain't got the stuff to match them on our own
>>
>>77551096
>Was Immortal ever even supposed to be in Nolan's weight class?

Nah, never. In fact when they first meet Allen together, Mark tells Allen to not fight Immortal cause he really isn't that strong, and he'd pulp him if he hit back.

His only real shtick is that he cannot be killed.
>>
>>77551427
>His only real shtick is that he cannot be killed.

Even then, if you move his head away from his body he can't regenerate.
>>
>>77551194
>77546859
Robot killed one effortlessly and disabled another just as easily though to be fair they weren't expecting the shocking heel turn, tech can make a difference.
>>
>>77551756
Though now Mark will punch a hole in Robots head before he gets the chance.

Or is all of this the work of a higher being seeing what Mark would do in a Pacifist run.
>>
>>77551756
Was that before or after he spend centuries becoming God Emperoro?

y'know I was about to fix that typo but I like it, I'm keeping it
>>
>>77551756
Not enough to beat them though, I'm pretty sure Robot himself said he couldn't win an all-out war with the surviving Viltrumites but he could diminish their numbers enough that they wouldn't want to fight him
>>
>>77547047
The thing is though... Mark isn't exactly a genius and he isn't written that way. I mean he isn't *stupid* but he goes into things assuming he'll get his way just because he's got Truth And Justice on his side and only rarely has a contingency plan set up.

DESU I'm a little impressed that he went to the Guardians instead of having his ass saved. For Mark, that's clever.
>>
>>77551194
Eh, there are a few shared-Universe Image characters and teams that can beat a single Viltrumite; we saw how that went with Earth-Vs-a-Dozen-Evil-Invincibles. They and Mark were around Unnamed Redshirt Viltrumite level when that went down.
>>
>>77553453
true, but imagine if they were fighting a dozen evil Nolans
not many people besides Brit could tank that guy
>>
>>77553453
Rex managed to kill an evil Mark too. Sure, it was suicidal, but the point remains that he can generate a big enough charge to kill one.

Basically get an object the weight of a human skeleton, charge it up, and have someone chuck it to the target.

>>77553502
>not many people besides Brit could tank that guy

Brit can take it but not dish out though.

Actually that makes me wonder. How strong is his invulnerability? Could he take a full power blow from Thragg (not counting the fact that such a punch would set him into orbit)?

Or hell, if Rex charged up Brits skeleton and blew him up like that, would Brit survive that? Or maybe he wouldn't even get blown up because his muscles would stop the explosion from happening?
>>
>>77553714
I don't know a whole lot about Brit, I thought he was basically Saitama-level, but for defense instead of offense.

>can he be hurt?
no
>what if he got kicked through a mountain
look, just no
>okay but what if Allen and Thragg both punched him from either side and--
NO OKAY
>>
Can we talk about how they are setting up Omniman to be the main villain now? Shit is depressing.
>>
>>77553714
Pretty certain that's a yes. Brit seems close to the "actually absolute invulnerability" level; IIRC in the Brit limited series he set off a suitcase nuke he was carrying in a backpack.
>>
>>77553790
Yeah, he's a normal human, he just cannot get hurt.

They had a god powered guy who could absorb the life force of every human, killed even a lot of heavy hitters just like that, and when he tried it on Brit, he actually managed to get him tired for the night.

But Rex charging up his skeleton, I wonder what exactly would happen then. Would his inner organs and skin absorb the explosion? Would it just come out of his mouth instead, making him able to barf nuke lasers? Would he go full Hiroshima but just survive? Remember, the blast would come from INSIDE him.

>>
>>77553502
Oh for sure, they'd be super-fucked against an invasion by the Viltrumite-elite. I'm just saying we've seen Image-Earth could mount a credible defense against a "casual" Viltrumite invasion.

It would be a cataclysmic world-devastating war but it's not *absolutely* one sided.
>>
>>77553922
Wouldn't that obliterate his skeleton, rendering him a pile of meat jelly?
>>
>>77554753
But that's the thing, he cannot be hurt, so his skeleton would be just fine afterwards.

I'm guessing that Rex's mojo just wouldn't work on him at all.
>>
>>77554842
>literally turning your skeleton into a bomb
>fine afterwards
So, it explodes without exploding? What, do you think all his little throwy balls and sticks are left intact afterward?
>>
>>77545885
>Aquaman equivalent is useless

Heh.
>>
>>77554885
You don't get it. Brits power is that HE DOES NOT GET HURT. He is like Blubberball in Avengers Initiative, his body stays the same no matter the force imposed upon it. Except that it has no downsides, ie. he can get it up in bed.

He survived a nuke at point blank range, was buried under buildings, and has swam in lava. So far the only thing that hurt him was a celestial demigod sucking out his life force, and all that did was make him a bit older (it would've mummified any other mortal).

So if Rex used the skeleton charge up trick, the result would be either:

a) Brits skeleton explodes, he goes full Hiroshima, survives.
b) Brits skeleton explodes, but the explosion does not get past his skin/organs. it would force itself around any orifice (including popping his eyeballs out)
c) Rex simply cannot charge his skeleton up, because Brits power does not allow his skeleton to be put in whatever state that makes it kablooey.

I'm disappointed things turned out this way.

Wait, I think i've missed something, last I read omniman became king of the supermans and I don't know there was some sort of alternate reality shit with a friendly robot and what?

How much have I missed and also where can I read it?

so am i looking too far into this or was allen hitting on eve here?

i would be surprised if becoming one of the strongest in the universe and finding out he's a sex god won't go to his head eventually.
>>

>Mark's face when he sees his daughter grows up to look just like Anissa

I think allen is just being a cool guy like always, nothing else to see here
>>
>>77559440

>implying Dinosaurus didn't take this into account

Not to mention that while a shortage of labor force would decrease long run aggregate supply a huge reduction in population creates long term sustainability as far as scarcity goes.
>>
Okay, this comic has nearly 150 issues, and now they're doing the classic fanfic tool of "go back in time with all the knowledge" stuff. What I'm wondering is...is this going to end? Does Kirkman intend for the series to stop, or is he just going to write this until he dies?

I mean, they're taking a hiatus at the end of this arc apparently, so I'm not sure what's going on.
>>
>>77545885
Yawn. How tired.
>>
>>77574775
Pretty sure Kirkman is doing a reboot story just as a jab at Secret Wars III
>>
>>77574775
I'm pretty sure there's a middle ground between "ending soon" and "continuing ad infinitum"
>>
>>77574819

Personally, I just want Kirkman to stop this and the Walking Dead. I get that he's probably funding Image a lot with those two books, but the dude's set for life and he can get a TV deal at the drop of a hat. What's there to do anymore?
>>
>>77555603
Dude's thats the point, Rex will never die, Mark will not fuck Levy's plan, so there will no be Invincible War, so Rex doesn't need to sacrifice himself
>>
>>77574228
He has a blue waifu who is always down to fuck. Allen doesn't need to lower himself to Marks used goods.
>>
>>77574910
Image only takes a fee that covers printing, distributing, advertising etc. It doesn't actually make Image profit for selling well. Only Kirkman and Adlard (and Tony Moore I guess).

I guess there's benefits though, like a high profile Image comics brings attention to Image which tangentially might help sell other comics

But yeah, the profit goes to creators, not Image.
>>
>>77575212
>It doesn't actually make Image profit for selling well.
Yes and no. You're right. Image is not making the "extra profit" that comes from an extra few thousand Walking Dead readers per single.

>Image takes a a fee off the top
>more product "batches" equals more fees off the top
What they DO benefit from is every-time a tpb or hardcover gets printed or re-preinted, so with a series like Walking Dead that supports sales of singles, tpbs, omnis, hc's for YEARS, Image ABSOLUTELY benefits from the fact that it's a successful property.

I can almost guarantee this isn't going to have any lasting effect. It started with him inside the mysterious alien and I bet this is simply a what if kind of situation that doesn't actually exist.

That's a few years off

The giant erect dick is in Anissa's mind.

The less people that live on a world, the more resources for those left, the more destruction, the more jobs it gives out.

That's why a war tend to kick start economy after it ends.

To be frank, the world would be 10 times better after even only 1/10 of the current population is disposed of. Of course, only for those that weren't wiped out.
The downside is a heavy slowness on technological advancement.
>>
>>77578604
Education and resources would likely have a greater effect on tech than population, so less people may mean faster, not slower, development.
>>
>>77578807
that said, rebuilding infrastructure would put everything else on hold for a while and you may have a 1950s like population boom before you're done anyway, so no net benefit.
>>
Why is Mark Grayson such a colossal dumbass?
>>
>>77559440
Because a world economy where entire cities could get levelled means that how it related to building things is different.

There will be a bigger focus on improving construction tools, and using superhumans to improve building speed in times of large rebuilding.
>>
>>77578807

No really, think it like this
>>77578850

Or maybe that's you too.

The point was that there would be a lot less time to develope technologies that had yet to have a practical use, limiting inventive, or technologies that could be really useful, but not for the current imperative situation.

Creativity is not a direct child of education. One thing is the tool by which creativity takes shape, but by far not the only factor.

The shape a society that goes through as much hardship would take, is probably too alien to our minds used to first world problems, and ignoring actual issues, like starvation of poor nations, or placing them on a third or fourth place on the priority scale
>>
>>77575390
nope
>>
>>77578604
>The downside is a heavy slowness on technological advancement.

No, the opposite. A good war, or a promise of a good war, means higher spending on r&d, military or otherwise, and that will eventually trickle down to civilian products.

Take jets and rocket tech for example. If it wasn't for WW2 and the Cold War, Von Braun would have died a civilian engineer instead of designing moon rockets for NASA.
>>
>>77574810
>Pretty sure Kirkman is doing a reboot story just as a jab at Secret Wars III

Doubtful. Every time he was rusing the readers, it ended with the story continuing as normal.

Remember when we had Black Invincible? It was just Bulletproof helping out Eve with their Invincible, Inc. business.

Or when Dinosaur killed Invincible? It was a clone.

Or when they said EVERYONE DIES, and only really the Guardians of the Globe were killed, and Eve lost a leg, and that was it?
>>
>>77559752
He's stronger, which is what Annisa noticed during their arm wrestling match.
>>
>>77582047
War? Sure, obviously and proven to hell too.
I meant in the particular situation at hand. The world getting destroyed by superpowered freaks, and the people of the world depending on other such to defend themselves while they restructure themselves.
>>
>>77582469
Mark lost on purpose for fear that the viltrumite had some sort of trial of strength ritual to select new rulers, but annisa saw through that ruse and raped him anyway
>>
>>77584762
If Mark is so strong why couldn't he fight Anissa off?
>>

Elephant guy
Immortal's arm
Bulletproof's parents
Cecil
Immortal and Kate's kids' sense of safety

>Immortal's arm
I laughed
>Bulletproof's parents
That wasn't from the event, that was his girlfriend being generally crazy. Still love that bulletproof helps out and gets to keep the costume, I like it a lot
>Cecil
Isn't Cecil still alive...
>Immortal and Kate's kids' sense of safety
Whatever that means
>>
>>77574910
Invincible is a drop in the bucket compared to how long other cape comics have been running.

His walking dead shit may go in the same fucking cycle over and over again, but his invincible stuff actually makes progress even if it does come slowly or in a half assed manner.
>>
>>77585018
Cecil is dead in reality after Robot tried to lie to him about invincible being evil.
>>
>>77585347
what if the reboot is about him doing this in the past and then being pulled back into the future and the changes he altered in the past stay
>>

wat
>>
>>77585254
Still what other team has been on one comic longer? Hell what one writer has been on one book for this long? Invincible is up there with ultimate Spiderman (bendis and bagley specifically, bendis just writing) and geoff Johns on green Lantern. Who else is actually up there in this way?
>>
>>77586145
Stan and Jack had over 100 F4 together and Claremont wrote around 200 issues of X-Men

Ken Pendars from sonic did rougly 11-155 of the main series, plus 30 some from a side series sprinkled with around 20-30 some odd specials/mini series inbetween. Although give how shit he is that may be a bad example.

Ian from the same book has been lead writer for nearly 200 issues. Although he has not written every single issue.

I was wondering how this guy started working in a barbershop with Samson when Robot came to kill those two.
>>
Can someone tl;dr me?

I read through this with /co/ a few months back when it was storytimed over a week, and it ended with the baby not breathing fakeout and dealing with male rape. Everything between that chapter and this one I've missed.

>>77568303
You joke, but Dinosaurus' whole schtick was basically to wreck shit for Keynesian stimulus purposes.

Reading GtG after the arc where Robot takes over the world pissed me off. All these characters I was growing to like killed off as background props

Invincible is basically DBZ-like, and it shits on all the Z-fighters just as much.
>>
>>77586990
Doesn't mean he's stronger though. They seem to be even in terms of armwrestling.
And was that before or after he got space-aids ?
>>

After, the issue previous he got his powers back having. Sexytime with fatom eve

Whoops my timeline is all off, he got his powers back 2-3 stories before
>>

Werent there like 16 evil invincibles before?

The entire global hero force could barely take down half the number.

I almost love the mixed reaction from bitter regret to absolute satisfaction after a hard day slaughtering people.
