I know it's pointless of a reboot to do same things it did before, but it's just tasteless to turn well known heroes into villains "just because". Also, Earth-2 fails in world building. This book had so many writers I can't even summarize a premise for it.

Allan's boyfriend is dead. Except no he's not, he's the Avatar of the White, which is air appearantly.
And then he and the rest of the avatars sacrifice themselves so that Alan can become Capitan Planet. Except he's not gone, because "I'll always be with you".
And it's all fucking pointless, he couldn't even match OC Val Zod.
Who got over his agoraphobia after a few deep breaths, a speech form Lois and a bot of sunlight.
And Superman's alive, just so Wilson can have him give Kara his shield and Val his blessing and kill him again.
And Jimmy's a New God now because he merged with Dr. Fate's helmet which was a Mother Box.

And so much more. I haven't even been hate reading this, except for a bit during World's End. I've been thinking "Maybe it'll get better".
But no. Fuck Wilson, and fuck who ever decided to give him the book, and fuck whatever editor decided World's End was a good idea.

Is the bad, incompetent characterization (even ignoring the not muh JSA stuff) that doesn't keep characters consistent from early Earth 2 or even from World's End a good enough reason? There are many extremely lazy characterization shortcuts going on to move characters into roles Wilson needed they be in to serve the plot whether those moves made any sense or not (and most of them don't)

Also the LOST style plotting structure I'd completely pointless and needlessly complicated

I did. There may be some faults regarding Wilson's characterization like Anons' have stated, but I thoroughly enjoyed this issue.

I honestly think /co/ doesn't like it when the lives of these characters are truly at stake, because it feels like there's actual, legitimate tension here, and that's very rare in a comic.

Stuff like Tyler buying Wayne was under Robinson, Red Bat was on Miraclo and Robinson getting annoyed at the twist getting spoiled via the figure. Red Bat being Bat Dad was always Robinsons intention and it seemed to be the only plot point he left Taylor.

Now as to Bat-Dads origin, thats a different story. For example Taylor never connected Bat-Dad to Apocalypse wich apparently was meant to be a thing
