Which is the best Simpsons episode?
Was he a pedophile?
Avoiding more obvious nominations...I personally love A Streetcar Named Marge. Its got music, its got humor, its got Ayn Rand's School for Tots, its got drama and a happy ending.
pic related, marge's face when someone actually listed a marge episode as one of the best

I bet you're gonna say Bart Gets an F, Lisa's Sax and Maggie Makes Three are overrated, too
>>77539444
Nothing against the first two, but if you'd read Usenet posts from 1995, And Maggie Makes Three was pretty badly savaged.
I always liked Bart Sells His Soul
When Bart is diagnosed with ADHD, is prescribed Dexamphetamine and drives a tank down the street while singing Fleetwood Mac.
>>77539409
I hear Anon's opinions are gay.
When Homer wants to be disabled and gets to 300lbs
>>77539533
this one's also nice
>>77539533
I'm not sure how I forgot that happened.
Shit, I gotta go back and watch some Simpsons.
When Bart and Milhouse find $20 or Deep Space Homer
also Tomacco best post 10th year season episode
>>77539533
Does that one also have something to do with recording/rebroadcasting baseball games? I want to ask before I look it up
>>77539915
Yeah, Bart fires the tank up to the sky and knocks a NBL satellite
>>77539938
And then Mark McGuire shows up and distracts everyone by hitting some dingers
I've been making my way through The Simpsons this past month and I'm half way through Season 3. So far my favorite episode is tied with Three Men and a Comic Book and One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish
>>77540118
Do yourself a favor - stop at the end of Season 9.
While there are a handful of watchable episodes in the next couple of seasons there's a MASSIVE dropoff in quality once Season 10 starts.
Season 9 isn't perfect but still has a decent number of solid episodes and the last couple actually let things end on kind of a high note for all the characters. Homer earns Bart's respect, Home and Lisa bond a little, Marge and Homer work out some relationship shit, etc.
>>77540248
Yeah, I've usually only seen Zombie Simpsons but I'm really enjoying season 2 so far and 3 is keeping a good stride.
>>77539375
that was one of the first episodes I saw, I was really touched by how much emotion and relation they put in the older episodes.
My fave was always Bart The General
teaming up with Grandpa and Herman to take down bullies with extreme prejudice, what's not to like?
>>77539130
>Yfw they brought him back for a cheap joke in Zombie Simpsons>Yfw you notice the chair
>>77539375
Homer at the Bat or Last Exit to Springfield
HEY BART WANNA SEE MY NEW CHAINSAW AND HOCKEY MASK
Dead Bart.
>>77540118
>One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish
I'm amazed at how emotional they managed to make that episode, despite the fact that you know homer's obviously going to live.
>>77539130
My favorite is Bart Gets an F. I'm not even a big fan of the early show but it was great.
I never see anyone mention Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in "The Curse of the Flying Hellfish". That episode made Grandpa Simpson awesome.
>>77539130
Mfw I realized the last time I watched a Simpsons episode was 9 years ago
>>77539130
Emotionally: Bart gets an F
Funny: Homer's Enemy/Homer at the Bat
The one where Bart gets a drivers licence and he, Martin, Nelson and Milhouse go to Knoxville is my favourite. Just fucking gag after gag and it's Excellent.

I remember seeing a joke in the simpsons where marge is saying something inspirational to Lisa. Then hands her a "You Are Lisa Simpson" note.
Then Lisa says "Thanks Mom but i already have one of these"
>>77543784
>Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been to Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, and I can say without hyperbole that this is a million times worse than all of them put together.
It's my favourite joke in the simpsons
>>77541976
I also believe this episode is underrated.

>>77541976
Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy and Lady Bouvier's Lover are also great. The show used to know how to make fun of old people without dehumanizing them.
>>77551666
Well, it was.
>>77551830
That was just because Oakley & Weinstein had a really weird, disturbing gerontophilia fetish.
>>77551850
Respecting your elders is a thing, whippersnapper.
>>77551830
I used to like GvSA when I was like 12 because "heh heh heh, people having sex heh heh heh" but now I don't think it's all that great of an episode.
>>77551922
I like it because it explores Homer's relationship with his dad more.
>>77551922
We were all 12 once, you know.
>>77551965
I read some old Usenet reviews and they complained that the episode completely changed plots after the first act.
>>77551986
Yeah. The usenet people are usually right about stuff. We future people have goggles on because we've seen so many terrible, terrible episodes.
>>77551965
The writers probably didn't want to beat the sex stuff to death because that's just icky so they dropped it halfway through the episode.
>>77551986
yes, and...?
>>77551850
They mention a couple times on the DVD commentaries about their old people obsession.
>>77543784
MR. BLACK
FWIW, on the Natural Born Kissers DVD commentary, Matt Selman remarks that that episode was partially based on his parents' marital problems.
I don't think O&W's old people fetish is as disturbing as knowing this much about your parents' sex life.
>>77539130
Looking at the drawing style, color palette, and size of characters' pupils here, do you think "This is Classic Simpsons", "This is Neo Simpsons", or "This is Transitional Simpsons"?
>want to watch the commentaries
>know I'll just tune out of the commentary and listen to the episode as soon as I see a joke I like
>just watch the episode instead
Anyone else have this problem?
>>77552212
transitional
>>77552168
This was from an old Usenet review of that episode.
"The writers made the obvious decision to focus more on Marge & Homer's plight of not being seen rather than the nudity itself (there's a small, but tasteful difference). The B plot with Bart & Lisa was essentially throwaway, but there was no way they could be incorporated into the main plot."
>>77552262
>The B plot with Bart & Lisa was essentially throwaway, but there was no way they could be incorporated into the main plot
Well, they could but only in PahealWorld.
>>77544005

>>77543838

>Caring about continuity
>On the fucking Simpsons
Did autists in the 90's really do this?
>>77543183
It's Bart on the Road and it is my favorite as well, the plot between Lisa nad Hoemr is adorable and the small Marge plot where she realizes how empty her life is without her family around is heartbreaking. That episode explores every main character so well, it would be the episode to reccomend to anyone who never hear of the Simpsons if anyone had ever not heard of the Simpsons.
>>77553343
The writers used to trash Usenet nerds for a reason.
>>77553343
Not caring about continuity..geez i sure hope your parents got fired for having you
>>77539130
The Springfield Files.
>>77543234
I love this episode as well, that scene at the end is simple yet emotional.
>the one where Maggie eats broken glass
>the one where Marge spends the car loan money on a giant shoe
>the one where Bart farts on a war memorial
>the one where Bart selotapes Homer's pubes to a duck
>the one where Krusty gets Maggie's dummy stuck up his arse
>the one where Bart hides an old gas heater in Homer's bed
>>77554495
Heeeey, these are just old Arthur episodes with the character's names changed
Dead Putting Society
That is all.
