>Agents of GODDAMN IT HYDRA Edition
Welcome back /co/! Agents of SHIELD is all new tonight with a brand new episode.
>"Many Heads, One Tale" (Nov 17th)
Dangerous facts about the ATCU are discovered by the team; Ward's plans to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. do not go as expected.
>Where can I watch the episode?
Both of these were recommended in the last thread and should be streaming the episode.
>What else do I need to know about the show?
Agents of SHIELD is now in its third season. InHumans, more comics shit, good character development are just a few of the new perks.
>I've missed an episode!/ I have no idea whats going on but im going to post anyways!
Good news! We have a handy dandy pastebin located here:
There's lots of neat things in there like previous discussions, episode guide and some other goodies. If you're just joining us or missed a previous ep, Netflix has both Season 1 and Season 2 available for watching! If you live in another country, you might be shit out of luck. Sorry bros.
Archive moe is gone, will try to fix up our pastebin a bit, now we'll be getting archives from desustorage
(No Ep next week, ABC nukes everything for Thanksgiving)
"Closure" [Dec 1st]
> Ward's campaign for revenge brings the S.H.I.E.L.D. team to their knees, and Coulson proves he will do anything to settle the score
>"Maveth" [Dec 8th]
After that the show will go hiatus till goddamn March. Yeah March.
Agent Carter premieres Tues, Jan 5th from 9-11, and then after it'll air all the way through till March 8th where AoS returns. (total of 10 eps)
>why don't you go deface a picasso or something?
you mean AIM?
>330mb of personality
It was most definitely Grodd.
The Flash did an infinite mass punch and slammed Grodd through a breach in space-time into Earth 2, to a place known as Gorilla City.
>How is Flash?
Read that other sentence again.
>How is Flash?
>he doesn't know
It was Grodd. And Gorilla City, and Zoom, and Reverse Flash, and King Shark, And Vibe.
God dammit Ward... why do you have to be so fucking spectacular?
>Thank you for flying with Hydra
Hydra has bad luck with planes, unless it's a tribflugel
So she doesn't like to fondle his stump?
Now I know what I'm going to binge watch this week, Guess I might as well ask while I'm at it, Hows Arrow?
The plots for this episode are great
>Coulson performing a reverse honeypot
>Science buddies researching death cults
>Rest of SHIELD infiltrating their allies
>Ward performing acts of Ward on mooks
Logically speaking, it was written in S1. You don't half-ass scripts and shoehorn in a massive plot twist like that on the first season of your show without some forethought. Now, how they handled Ward after he turned Hydra, that's debateable. Personally I think they're a bit at a loss at how to keep him in the main story, but Brett Dalton's charm keeps the Grant Ward's Wild Ride train chugging along.
Glau was init for a while
It's basically gateway Live Action /co/. It opened up everything being popular, but ultimately it's a CW show, with all the drama that entails. There were a few episodes adding hype, like
Wildcat and Boxing Glove Arrow, but ultimately it isn't worth it now that Flash exists.
I just don't believe that when they created the character and wrote the first half of the season that they had the twist planned for him yet. i'm a /tv/fag and /co/ clearly loves ward so I'll just look into it on my own
The Winter Soldier would have been fulling written and probably even shot by the time AoS started.
Winter Soldier: Filming in Cleveland concluded on June 27, 2013.
AoS: First episode aired September 24, 2013.
So they knew at the most only a few episodes in.
However, they didn't tell Brett so he played good guy Ward 100% straight
Fitz and Simmons hits way too close to home for me. Except I made the mistake of not kissing my Simmons and now I'm just broken and alone. I should have just gone back to playing Star Wars Battlefront after Flash, I don't need these feels right now
I believe there was an interview somewhere that said the decided to do it shortly before Cap 2 (or maybe once cap 2 had finished wrapping) and they just dropped it on the cast.
I definitely know Dalton had gotten told about it before the rest of the cast, so when they did they table read they were all shitting themselves
This season's been pretty fucking nuts.
With the success of Flash's craziness, Arrow's started taking more risks.
We've had Lazarus Pits, magic, shrinking - hell we just had a fucking Constantine crossover.
even with that timeline I'm not sure if it's feasible that the writing staff knew, especially if the actor didn't. there was probably an NDA in effect
thanks for info. I'll look into it. i still need to pick this show up on dvd for the commentaries
>I've seen BTS stuff and they confirmed Daisy was planned from 2, but I've yet to see any confirmation that Ward was Hydra prior to mid-season 1
Listen to the Marvel podcast for the show. The 50th episode one from the other week goes over a lot of it. It's like 38mins long.
There were interviews back around winter soldier where the staff for the show explained that yes, they knew, and stuff was written so they were basically in a holding pattern until the twist could happen.
Also they were clear that most of Ward's actions (sleeping with May, jumping out of the plane to save Simmons, and so on) were calculated attempts to ingratiate himself.
Wardmaster training HYDRA grunts is only a matter of time
Arrow spent the first couple seasons going for the Nolan SUPERREALHEROES angle.
Then Flash came along and everyone realized that being stupid and unrealistic was fun as fuck.
Now we've got fucking Damien Dahrk using dark magic to control H.I.V.E. and an immortal Vandal Savage dragging DC heroes and villains through time trying to control the world.
>You were born to late, you'll never explore the oceans.
>You were born to early, you'll never explore the cosmos
>You were born just in time to see fucking King Shark, Gorilla City, a Green Arrow/Constantine crossover, and ATOM shrinking on live television.
he's Native American
>Purple Man shenanigans this weekend
I cant fucking wait
>planning to watch Marvel's Rape Culture presented by tumblr
>the monolith's weird removed rectangles were just hydra and not a unique alien feature
>hydra is actually a kree death cult
I don't know how I feel about this. It fits with Red Skull being all about ancient aliens but then who was Hydra that got Red Skull in on everything?
Is is the ancient group not really ever Hydra and Red Skull found their legends about aliums?
>Agent Carter gets BLACKED now
>/co/mblr still pretends like that show isn't forced SJW/feminazi propaganda
SO HISTORICALLY ACCURATE AND BRAVE, YOU GO GIRL!
We literally had Simmons tripping over herself to get Trips BBC, and everyone thought it was great. The only reason the sjw thing is being raised is because that show stars a woman, and it somehow takes a completely different context for her to crave chocolate.
Me... I enjoy the show for the Howard Stark shenanigans.
Nope, and its sad that it won't.
They seem to be going the Hickman's Shield/Secret Warsiors route (which makes sense considering they're using Quake and the Secret Warriors). Basically, the origins of SHIELD and HYDRA as explained in SHIELD and Secret Warriors:
>Brood invade ancient egypt
>Imhotep gathers the greatest warriors of the time, such as the first Moon Knight and Apocalypse
>they repel the invasion thanks to Imhotep
>After Imhotep died, his shield went to the west and his spear went to the east
>His shield leads to the creation of a secret society with such members as Leondardo DaVinci, Isaac Newton, and Howard Stark which would eventually lead to modern day SHIELD
>His spear gets stolen from the east and leads to the creation of what would eventually become HYDRA during WWII
So the whole ancient secret society thing is true to the comics. The whole monolith thing though isn't.
>inb4 Ward almost gets caught, gets shot AGAIN, and survives and escapes to go plot more shenanigans to be seen in a later episode
>jumps through the monolith shouting SO LONG, FUCKERS!
>Coulson jumps in after him
>the monolith explodes and spreads its fragments across the earth triggering a globetrotting race to collect all seven dragonballs
They're loosely inspired by the comics. Also "SHIELD was Hydra the whole time" was a minor issue in Secret Warriors since Osborn had already taken it over and turned it into HAMMER.
>Not until you have more white guys mounting nubian princesses
That's actually far more common than the "white woman, black man" thing. They may be touchy touchy but rarely do I see main black guy get the main white girl.
And so, we will never have Task Ward, or maybe Ward Master.
Whatever, the guy's in a vault with a tone of magical artifacts.
Any chance at Hood Ward?
Note to self:
Read what you type to avoid looking even stupider than normal.
Abandon the Task Ward train, hop on Ward will be Scorpio express.
Black Widow got away who is suppose to be back, Johann Fennhoff meets Arnim Zola to nod to both TWS and AoS Season 2, obviously Howard is prepping to eventually set up SHIELD, and we know that Jarvis' wife will be revealed.
Personally I find the show boring desu senpai. Half of the time is showing how "horrible" the 40s were if you had a vagina, Howard and Jarvis shenanigans, and Thompson (AKA 40s Ward) being sexist.
GODDAMNIT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE S1E1
>tfw Ward will likely kill one of them
>However, they didn't tell Brett so he played good guy Ward 100% straight
I've always imagine Brett Dalton going up to Whedon and Tranchoen after the first few episodes of season one and saying: "You know I could play this guy in a more interesting way and..."
"No it's fine Brett, just keep playing him the way he's written."
"Uuuhh, are you sure?..."
"Boy scout works for us" [thumbs up]
Fagneto, chocolate Ward, Daisy, Mockingtits, Ward and May singing karaoke
Holy shit this episode was great
>Ward being a magnificent bastard
>Coulson not really falling for Reverse Coulson and planning against her
>another episode another sexy Bobbi outfit
>fake hacker Hunter with Daisy support
>May being reasonable with Sparkplug
>literally any scene with Ward is pure gold
Yep, she ends up with a black dude in the comics (Gabriel Jones) although if Winter Soldier is anything to go by she has white kids and most likely ends up marrying a white dude or at least someone who isn't black.
First season meh
Second Season amazing
Third Season is literal shit with some hype moments that never ended up on anything
New season is WAY better than the last one, Ollie is fun, best girl is back, olicity continues to be shit
That is the only one that I vaguely remember hearing about aside from the ones I know from the old 90s/00s books.
Only one that seems would be big enough.
Then we get the Royal Family???????
I actually thought pre-turn Ward was fine after a few episodes. He had fun moments like him and Coulson trying to work the holotable.
No doubt his turn made him 100x better though.
It could be someone older like Randac
You know how Apocalypse is said to be the first mutant? Randac was the first Inhuman to get powers from the Terrigen Mists, he's like an Inhuman saint/God
I was just making a joke about her two main abilities crossing over
You're a bit of a buzzkill anon
Casting him must have been some fucking inside joke in the SHIELD writing room. He plays the exact same role in Iron Chef-- does the magical hand movements and then the metal dome rises in the air.
Was anyone else slightly bothered by the reveal that Red Skull didnt "create" HYDRA
It feels really cheesey
And is Ward confirmed for Taskmaster now? When he said he can adapt, before he got attacked
I'm actually getting a bit worried now. The pace of the show is frenetic and going somewhere at breakneck speed (who needs the speedforce?). We've seen a season's worth of plots already and we're not even halfway through. It's fantastic. But it's beginning to feel like they're blazing through to reach some major game-changing event like the Hydra reveal. Just hoping they've got enough left in the tank for the last few episodes, or that they don't trip and fall on their faces which would be a major ouchie at this speed.
i'm not sure you getting it, but the landwhales on tumblr hating this Ward, they loved plain s1 Ward, with every new episode they are screaming and crying that they will never watch agan if Ward isn't redeemed
Man it was so delicious when they blew the fangirls the fuck out in S2.
>Ward saves Daisy from Whitehall's men because muh waifu
>expecting corny redemption moment
>she just fucking empties her gun into his chest
You seriously think Race Mixing didn't exist. fuck, George Fucking Washington basically started the trend. "Hose Nigger" used to be child from mixed race because the white familly didn't want their child, even if illegitimate, to work in the field.
Certain states even had laws against race mixing because it happened.
Its not more than any story.
Fuck, you are actually saying that the only way for a show to not be Tumblr is to have a white male protagonist that don't date blacks.
Stories can do that, you know? It's only a tumblr show if it does that and suck yet is praised.
so my guess is that the It/Death thing from the planet will come through the portal and will posess someone from the team (or Ward?)
would be awesome if it would be Coulson who turns into a supervillain
>Agents of Futa?
Now we're talking!
>Simmons make Fitz work on rescuing a stranded man that saved her life and grew a thing for, despite knowing Fitz had a thing for her too, because he is the only one who can do it and she own the NASA guy.
HOLLY SHIT SIMMONS, WHAT A MONSTER
>Simmons acknowledge this is a difficult situation
HOLLY SHIT SIMMONS, WHAT A MONSTER
>Simmons don't fuck Fitz
YOU WHORE, YOU NASTY FUCKING BITCH
>Simmons fuck Fitz
YOU WHORE, YOU NASTY FUCKING BITCH
There is no win for Simmons.
But seriously, Fitz said it's best, it's nobody's fault, but the chain of events of the universe.
