>Gumball is so popular in Japan that they get a 3DS theme before we do

What cartoons AREN'T popular in Japan?
Actual question, cause it seems like most somehow get a pretty decent sized following, at the least.
>>77524597
>Spending money on 3DS themes
Why? You're only ever going to be looking at it for a few seconds at a time. You can buy a Gameboy game off the eshop for the same amount of money.

>What cartoons AREN'T popular in Japan?

Loli Moe Slice of Life shit?
>>77524766
I'm curious what cartoon is most popular there. I'm guessing Gumball, Powerpuff girls, Happy Tree Friends, or South Park but I'm unsure.
>>77524774
They buy it for the same reason they buy a bunch of themed cellphone cases honestly. It's very popular in Japan since there are literally hundreds of themes in the Japanese e-shop
>>77524766
All of the Nicktoons minus Spongebob, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Invader Zim.
They don't like all the mediocre Cartoon Network shows such as My Gym Partner's a Monkey.
They love EVERYTHING from Disney that has aired in Japan though.

I think he was thinking more of shonenwhich is also garbagejust like Avatar
>>77524597
It's probably more because Japs are even bigger consumer whores than we are.
>>77524597dumb question but how do you put a Japanese theme on a N3DS?
>>77524940
>My Life as a Teenage Robot
It has its niche following, though, even to this day.
>>77524886
The MOST popular western animated thing is probably something from Disney. At the moment it's Frozen.
Most popular TV show would probably be Gumball. Powerpuff Girls used to be the most popular, but it's relying solely on reruns right now. I'm sure once the 2016 reboot comes out though, PPG will be on top again.
>>77525036
You can't unless you own a Japanese 3DS. Region-locking crap.
>>77524774
Why not? In the few seconds you're looking at it you can enjoy how it looks or whatever music or sounds it comes with. If you get one that's enjoyable enough, you can just waste time messing around with it. If you actually have money to waste on getting more than one, that aren't free, you can even use the option to randomize the ones you've got.
It's decorative, is why.

Ted (the movie with Seth McFarlane) is really popular there because people love the idea of a cute bear saying swears. Same reason Panty and Stocking and South Park are popular
>>77525144Rottytops is worst girl
>>77525176
Happy tree friends too. Cute things doing horrible things or having horrible stuff happening to them.
>>77525144
You're fucking autistic

>buzzword
C'mon, anon. You can do better than that.
>>77525192Would you fap to a zombie.I wouldn't, because it's a fucking corpse
>>77525192No.
>>77525287
For enjoying the little things?
>>77525331I've fapped to Hsien-ko before. It helps that she doesn't really looks like a corpse.
>>77524940
Japan doesn't like Alice in Wonderland, senpai.
>>77525405
They fucking love Alice in Wonderland, actually.
>>77525446
They like Alice. But I doubt they understand the original humor, especially in how closely it is connected to the English language.
>>77525446
Give me proof. Otherwise I have no reason to believe you.
Customs rollin' through

>Source: my fanny
>>77525548
The whole movie was uploaded on Nicovideo and it's filled with nothing but positive comments.
Also, Japan loves the Alice and Wonderland storytale in general. So yeah.
>>77525046
He was listing it as an exception, meaning it has a following.
>>77524797
I'm not surprised. Avatar tried so hard to be a shonen anime that while the character relationships were worth watching, it was lacking in the action department. It's might as well be a mediocre shonen anime.
>>77524797
>>77525993
From what I've heard, part of the reason Avatar never got much of a Japanese fanbase had more to do with how the Fire Nation was basically supposed to be imperial Japan, which they took offense to. They didn't even bother dubbing Book 3 as a result.
