Don't screw up the OP.
I suspect this is the moment where the "hero" has a breakdown, and someone has to be the voice of hope to motivate him
>if i bla bla, none of this would happen. This is all my fault
>duuuude, don't say like that. Remember that you bla bla bla
>you're right! I'm gonna bla bla bla. Thanks!
Some shit like that
That one's pretty creative, at least.
Nth for /gfg/'s Official Favorite Ship.
Nah I think Wendy will learn of and question his decision to stay in town without Mabel and he'll get frustrated trying to explain it, possibly using the actual fantasy word surrounding them and Wendy's own desire to leave as support.
To Be Honest, This is more intimidating than his Doritos meme look
Because he wanted him to be Green, like the All Seeing Eye of Providence on the Dollar BILL. That's part of where he got his name from. The other being the Beale Cipher. The artist who painted Bill said a he looked like a leaf when he was green and that Bill should be yellow like the actual pyramids. Alex thought the artist was right. However, when they made him yellow nobody mentioned he looked like a Dorito now. So everytime someone tells Alex that Bill looks like a dorito he has instant regret.
>Wendy will learn of and question his decision to stay in town without Mabel
Wendy already knows about it. He told her in the last episode, while they were sitting in front of the fire in Edgy on Purpose:
>Dipper: I was in a fight with Mabel when it happened. Uncle Ford asked me to be his apprentice once the summer was over. But that would mean I wouldn't go back home. It would mean growing up without Mabel.
Wendy: Oh, dude.
>Their clothes are post-apocalyptic
I was wondering about that as well, since Wendy's still in her Rambo outfit in this scene. It could just be that falling into Mabel's dream world changes their outfits back to the defaults, but when they get closer to her they switch back to how they actually look.
They're the most rounded side characters in the cast.
>Why We’ll Never Get Gravity Falls on DVD or Blu-ray
He said in an interview that there is a backstory that he has in mind but it doesn't sound like it will come into play in the show.
My question is if there are enough episodes to deal with the Big Dipper birthmark. It has something to do with the aliens I think... And there is that image of "someplace very far from the mystery shack" that we haven't seen yet. Maybe the season ends with Dipper and Mabel getting pulled off to the Prison Planet.
>there is that image of "someplace very far from the mystery shack" that we haven't seen yet
Didn't that turn out to be a background from the far future in the cold open of Blendin's Game?
Candip was only alive for a few minutes, but how glorious those moments were, how bright we burned
You could go spelunking in there and never be heard from again.
You're referring to the "find the anomaly" code from Search for the Blind Eye?
Since we still don't know what the criteria for being on the wheel is, I'm not sure how we were supposed to figure out McGucket in particular is the anomaly. Unless it's just being a major recurring character, I guess.
I do question Ford seemingly appearing twice on the wheel, though.
On next week's very special educational Gravity Falls, Bill learns where babies come from.
It'll start out rocky since she will still be salty about Dipper possibly abandoning her, but eventually they'll reconnect and establish the old sibling bond and when Mabel knows how bad things are outside she will help them break out of the bubble.
By the time Dipper finds Mabel, she'll already have been corrupted by Bill. We get a fight scene between the two of them until Dipper does the cliched remember the good times speech to help her break free of Bill's control.
she will have lived a thousand lifetimes. Learned every language. Travel every continent. Civilizations will rise and fall, and still she will continue. After humanity has vanished, new creatures from other worlds will find her, and revere her as a god. She will befriend them, and they will study her for centuries, until they, too, vanish. And after the earth is swallowed and the sun burns out, she will drift through space endlessly, time losing its meaning, as one after the other, the stars begin to go out.
And then a door will open in the cosmic void and a child wearing a cap will burst through it looking for somebody he lost.
a few people (mainly those without taste or started watching after NWMM) would whine it came out of nowhere and that alex shouldve gone with le redemption girl or something
smart GF fans would remember the hints in the shorts, the clear chemistry shown in the video game, and realize its the only couple that made any sense.
>By the time Dipper finds Mabel, she'll already have been corrupted by Bill.
This is my fetish.
Working on something special for you guys
I'll probably get it done this weekend
before we go on hiatusand share it with you all.
Here's a sneak peek.
When was the last time you told your sibling that you appreciated them?
Anyone else do cosplay/Halloween GF stuff?
We don't do Halloween where I live, but there's an end of the year thing where you go in costume and my grandma is gonna go as Stanley and me and my cousins are going to be as the shack pack
My hair is naturally very thick and fluffy. That means it wants to hang down but if I blow dry, gel, or spray it I get lots of volume. In this case I blew it out, used a combo of colored spray and baby powder, and hairsprayed it all into place. Turned out ok, but a little different every day I did it.
Dipping vegetables into boiling hot water briefly in order to loosen their peels.
Why anyone who lives in a mansion would be doing their own cooking is the real question.
Well, when I growing up as a country girl, my family would blanch vegetables - that is, briefly boiling before freezing to better preserve them. Usually sweet corn. In a southern dialect, the process might be called "blanchin'"
Had to drop the too-blurry Pacifica one, it was giving me a time.
No need to apologize, anon. More /ck/ posts can only improve /gfg/.
If all else fails, we could challenge anons to make the closest thing to the official Mabel Juice recipe as possible. Preferably with the ingredients they already have on hand in their houses.
that's okay anon, here's a slightly less blurry one if you still wanted a better image.
I'm really not familiar enough with cocktails to create a new one, but I'll take a shot (heh) at it. Since we've seen Mabel drinking orange juice - aggressively - how about a screwdriver (vodka and OJ, for those few who don't know) garnished with a jello shot in the shape of a dinosaur and crushed sweet tarts (or some of that powdered dip stuff) on the rim?
I'm pretty sure I have sweet tarts...
My Mabel juice recipe includes:
Assorted gummies that might or might not be soaked in alcohol
A juicypop (A candy from where I live with a shit name, it has a lollipop I just throw in there and some sour liquid I mix on one per glass)
Speed (Energy drink)
Pink soft serve ice cream that I pour the liquid over
Pop rocks on the rim
And it goes in a highball glass
I'd feel more sympathy for Ford if he more openly expressed regret and remorse. We've seen some strong hints that he has it, but I get the sense he's not good dealing with or expressing feelings, and prefers to hide behind his intellect for protection.
Poor Ford and Mabel. Screwing up that hard's gotta hurt.
-one ancient can of Jolt cola found in an abandoned convenience store
-coffee liqueur for added caffine + alcohol
-cake flavored vodka
-a dollop of vanilla ice cream
-garnish the rim of the glass with a plastic dinosaur
Ford seems to have no way to express empathy at all. He only looks sad when Stanley directly confronted him, and not even that much. He looked embarrassed more than anything.
He might FEEL empathy but people who have the feeling and still don't act on it are still really fucking shitty.
>He might FEEL empathy but people who have the feeling and still don't act on it are still really fucking shitty.
Yeah that's a thing that should really be emphasized more. Like whenever you have a villain in a story just doing miserable fucking things, but they look a little sad or conflicted or whatever that doesn't change the fact that they are doing terrible fucking things.
Actions matter. Feelings are meaningless to other human beings unless they are conveyed in some tangible way.
Seems like it showing empathy doesn't come easily or naturally to everyone. The more I think about it, the more I suspect that Dipper would ultimately have a greater, more positive impact on Ford than Ford on Dipper.
Dipper will not only save Ford's life, but he'll save his heart, too.
Turned out better than last time, guess I was just tired.
Series finale straw poll, get the fuck in here:
Soos points at her meats
>wanting Mabel to become Lain/Madoka
>not wanting the twins to both become that
>not wanting them to fuck eternally
so saved this back before I knew what the heck it was and just starting to crack the surface on this alternate universes stuff
1. which is best alternate world?
2. more canonically... where the fuck WAS Ford? was he in Bill's hellscape world, or just... somewhere that makes ray guns?
What makes Bill scary is Alex Hirsch's mental state: through the voice acting, we can tell that we are hearing a man pushed well past his breaking point, exhausted and silently praying for death.
Timestuck AU best for feels
Reverse for oh god yes
Dimension 54, the nerdlord dimension.
The way he spoke about it, it sounded as if he'd been travelling through dimensions through the years. There was even one he apparently missed, according to the mind reader. Doesn't seem likely that he was stuck in Bill's realm.
What I'm guessing happened was that the portal did not yet have set coordinates, so when he was accidentally pushed through he was sent to a random dimension. Maybe we'll learn more about his travels someday.
What if he didn't? Out of all the realms in the multiverse, who is to say it was, 100%, Bill's nightmare realm? What if it was something equally terrifying? I don't think Fiddleford saw that one specific dimension if there are infinitely many of them.
samefag. from what I've gathered, of any real importance or popularity
>timeswap. Grauntie Mabel caring for kid Ford and Stan
>reversed world. Gideon and Pacifica have to deal with evil Pines twins
>monsterverse. everyone is turned into monsters by book/forest magic
>Bill Cypher the human against twin demons
assuming genderswap's not an alternate anything beyond art
Reverse Falls has the most interesting fan art. I really like the designs for the Reverse Pines and Will Cipher. I don't read fanfiction, though.
For stuff that's great but with no content, I nominate Bootlegger Pines.
Dipper and Mabel are shipped off to live with their Great Uncle when their parents can't make ends meet. Stan is a fairly successful Bootlegger running a speakeasy and moonshining operation out of the Mystery Shack.
There's so much potential here, I can feel it, but just no one's grasped at it yet.
You forget Demonic Guardians and Mystery Trio (though MT is questionable as to whether AU or not)
yeah definitely. Gleeful twins ftw
Well, there's exactly 2 pieces of fan art for it, both by Limey.
There's only 2 fics I've seen and one of them is basically just a retelling of Tourist Trapped but set in the depression, so it doesn't actually use the potential of the setting.
I'd say that it's mostly just no one's seen it, so no one makes anything for it, and consequently, no one sees it. These sort of things need to hit a kind of critical mass before anything is likely to happen.
not aware of those two. and I got shocking amounts of those I guessed correct
I meant to post this pic with it.
Also the rest of the teens are 12 and Pacifica is older too.
writefag/drawfag here, is there more info on this? I'd sure like to try and make something.
Also is there a blog this Limey has that can be followed for updates and questions in relations to this?
Demonic Guardians is where Bill is actually supposed to be Dipper's 'guardian', and Mabel has Dot Matrix (a blue/purple square). starfleetrambo created it, it's good.
Mystery Trio is Stan, Ford, and Fiddles are three investigators of Gravity Falls. It's a really cheery AU, good for char. interactions.
I can upload a compilation of AUs if you want.
It's Double Pines main blog. Limey is her "real name" so to speak.
As for the fics in question, I don't remember, they were linked to me on AO3 a while back and I didn't save the links.
As far as updates go, I wouldn't count on anything. Those pics are from ages ago. I'd just roll with it, if you want to make something for the AU, write stuff yourself. Don't worry about messing things up; there's basically no established "canon" for it because no one's really done much with it.
It's an undiscovered country for you to explore.
sounds swell. can random imagedump in return
Pretty sure there isn't much "lore" set so anything goes. Even if there is, it's AU so who cares
I don't even think Limey cared about it more than a passing fancy. I guess you can give credit later or something
last one pardon the random nonfunctional links these are screencaps but u can look them up
I think if Mabel went full dark side - not possessed or corrupted, but actually convinced to walk the left-hand path - Dipper would follow the second he realized it was her decision instead of an external imposition. Him tackling a robot for Mabel proved he'd give his life for her, so I think he'd give up his morality for her as well.
I want to see Dipper as the high priest and holy consort of the Tyrant God-Queen Mabel.
>last one pardon the random nonfunctional links these are screencaps
You don't say!
It took you longer to post all of those then it would have to just find the link again.
All you have to do is google a "quote" from one of the screencaps.
can we get some sensitive sides Bill in here geez all these fangirl aus and not that
Well shit, this is the first I've heard of it and I'm already thinking up concepts.
Since circus sideshows were a big thing back then Soos and Wendy aren't employees as much as a rotating series of fake freaks. Rather than a fake psychic Gideon is a charismatic revivalist, the Reverend Brother Gideon Gleeful, Lil' Prophet of the Lord.
beaver man and the world's tallest woman
what about the artefacts though, like the mindswap rug and the hands and things? And how tf would Ford factor into this? It's from before AToTS.
original asker, saying thanks for the intel!
World's Largest Mexican
Yukon Gwen, said to have been raised by bears in the frigid Klondike.
I'd imagine Ford would be a Lovecraftian scientist, something like Crawford Tillinghast. Artifacts would still exist, but some would be changed to fit the setting - the copier would be mimeograph for example.
Well I can see Filbrick having been a grizzled, disillusioned Civil War Vet, cast into poverty after he found there was nothing to return to when the war was over.
Stanford could have been something of a Tesla figure. The time is ripe for all manner of crazy inventions and shit. The early 1900s were a scientific marvel.
A lot of Fords inventions could have been made with the intention of showing them off at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, with the Portal incident occurring in 1892.
These dates would put Stan and Ford at around 70 (assuming that this takes place ~1930)
His edges, despite appearances. are pleasantly pliant and supple
My favorite AU is the one where Pacifica is a relevant character and not a total waste of space. I know it's pretty crazy and out there but that's what fan AUs are all about baby.
>Ford's inventions helped win the war
>but because all of it was top secret, the army was able to shaft him so that he never saw a dime after they fired him. Even though his tech had plenty of household applications he can't share them with the public.
>This motivates him to seek out another world where science is appreciated for more than just coughing up murder toys on demand
If Stan's alive for Prohibition, there's no way that Ford was an adult during the Civil War.
And while it's not like America was in peace times after that, but there's not really another big Iconic American war for a while after that.
Filbrick could certainly have been a War vet though.
I played around in Photoshop a bit. Here's the first hidden scene from the newest promo.
he can be cushy when he pleases. he is an all-powerful demon after all.
If we're going with this taking place during the Depression then Ford is too young to have taken part in the Civil War and too old for WWI. Going with the idea that Ford is basically a Lovecraft protagonist in the wrong story, you could just have him be a deconstruction of the SCIENCE! types. A prolific producer of technologies that could change the world that doesn't really care about actually changing the world and lets his inventions sit around gathering dust as he pursues his goals.
>implying these insanely lucky gifted people are human
>implying every 60 something year old man can save two twelve year olds from a mountain and land unharmed
>implying some random ubernerd can survive 30 years in unknown dimensions
>implying child can lift own body weight
>implying other child can raise the dead with no training
If he was around for WWI, then he's only been gone for like 10 years at most.
Not really enough time I think.
I dunno, I like him as an Enigmatic scientist shunned by his colleagues in academia who retreated to a small town and was getting ready to make his Debut back into the public eye at the Worlds Fair when something went horribly wrong.
When I first started watching this show I was kind of excited when I learned that people had written hundreds of thousands of pages of Bill porn because I thought they were going to be about the characters fucking a triangle. I was wondering how the hell they would pull that off. But then I looked and it was just the characters fucking a hot anime guy in a top hat.
Going with the idea that the Mystery Shack is more like a circus sideshow we could have Ford growing up as an actual sideshow exhibit due to his hands. Part of his motivation is to be seen and valued for his works rather than a physical oddity and some of his contention with Stan is due to his issues growing up in that environment. Stan was a barker, spending his time schmoozing the crowd and wandering the circus while Ford got stuck in a tent while people tossed pennies at him.
>when tumblr ruins your images because the dimensions aren't big enough
>when tumblr ruins your images because the file size is too big
Ubisoft graphics of the rayman game. Non-cringey familiar humor. No actual plot related development. No Bill. Fairly short. Only challenging if you're about 8 year old.
>HIRSCH: I would say that my top two guest stars that I would want to have happen in the world on the show have happened. One of them is Louis and one of them is coming up. You’ll see when that star arrives.
Who's it gonna be?
Reading the article that quote came from, the Louis CK cameo came from him being a fan of the show, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was someone like Jon Stewart. I don't know of any other celebrities that are proclaimed fans.
he has such dreadful taste in celebrities and politics in general.
its only a matter of time until he pulls something like this
I just want it to effect California and have their parents find out and maybe have the twins go, "Oh fuck that's right, we have fucking parents" and think about them for a second.
Since they're rushing as fast as they can to the ending of the series, I'm pretty sure the best we can hope for as far as side characters getting to do anything meaningful is the "Sacrifing self to clear the path for the heroes" route.
>Soos and Wendy fend off monsters while Dipper and Mabel run.
>Gideon and his prisoner crew drive the twins back to town and then blow a bunch of shit up to make a path.
>Pacifica rallies the townspeople to fight back against monsters who are cornering the twins.
>Blendin returns with a squad of timecops to storm Bill's fortress.
>The Stans and McGucket figure out a way to weaken Bill so the twins can fight him.
>Robbie makes an attempt at a heroic stand but gets his shit pushed in for laughs.
It doesn't work that way. Content producers must be machines toiling away to provide constant contributions that meet our exact criteria as a group of anonymous internet posters with varying tastes and interests.
Ok so I kinda hope for epic battle at the end between Bill and some other demonic creature. I mean, as far as I remember he got imprisoned in his dimension, so there most likely is a thing capable of beating him. They could like summon it or something.
tell me people who thought wendip was dead, how dumb do you feel?
if you're just someone who was going with the flow and just meme'ing when into the bunker happened, you can excuse yourself now and save embarassment. drawfags that actually drew anti-wendip material should off themselves though.
Here's your (You).
He was wandering the Multiverse.
Nobody really knows if they're rushing it or it's a storytelling effect made by the destroyed status quo when Ford arrived.
Alex and his crew know better than any of us and they definitely wouldn't rush the show.
EVERYONE READ THIS:
Sorry if it seems crappy for you, I havent been drawing for months now and I cant really do stylized art, I am more realism guy you know. Anyway enjoy.
He probably hates Tumblr a lot.
It's where the shippers who asks him all those shipping related tweets roam.
And it's also a site where they harass people for drawing offensive art.
Tumblr's weird. You mostly hear about it outside of tumblr in the context of social justice nutjobs, but it's also been a hive of fandoms, kinks, and kinky fandoms since the beginning. Years back it was popular to ship 4chan with tumblr because early tumblr was basically 4chan for girls, for crying out loud. And even though the nutjobs are incredibly numerous there these days, there's still a lot of fandoms and kinksters running around tumblr and enraging the SJWs.
Lately in particular cartoon fandoms have been at war with the nutters ever since SU brought a lot of SJWs into the cartoon fandoms. There are hate blogs dedicated to spamming tags like Pinecest with hatemail and accusations of pedophilia. But they keep on keeping on, bless their hearts.
There's one we (mostly me) briefly discussed a while back here: Overgrown Pines, a fetish-based AU.
>Dipper is a massive muscle-shota
>Mabel and Pacifica are massive oppai lolis (Mabel is bigger, which sparks their rivalry)
>Wendy is either Muscle Wendy or Shortstack Wendy
The changes have little impact on the overall plot (although Bill taunting Dipper in Weirdmageddon would still be an effective scene here), so we focused more on shifts to character relationships, specifically between Dipper, Wendy, and Pacifica. Wendip is viable here, and whichever way we go with Wendy determines what happens with Pacifica once her feelings for Dipper begin to develop:
>Muscle Wendy: Pacifica sees how much Dipper and Wendy have in common and begins working out to try and catch his eye
>character development ensues when she realizes working out runs the risk of reducing her chest, putting Mabel that much farther ahead of her, forcing her to choose between her heart and her ego
>Shortstack Wendy: Bustier than Wendy but lacking in hips, Pacifica gains weight to try and match Wendy's figure, becoming a massively top-heavy Plumpcifica
>provides more variety in body types in the end, but lacks muscle Pacifica's character development angle
>Despite winning the election at the end and saving his family at the end, the show is quick to remind us that society will never accept a man like Stan for the crimes he had committed.
This came from this:
I just read it and it's an amazing view on the Stan Twins.
>EVERYONE READ THIS
After finishing that post, I made the mistake of looking through that blog's analysis tag and fell down a goddamn rabbit hole of ridiculously elaborate meta theories.
Now it's two hours later, and I've done nothing productive all morning.
Think of an ending that won't ultimately disappoint you.
The twins reconcile and find Stan after escaping the bubble, and then the Mystery Shack crew uses the various weird inventions and devices from the show to reverse Weirdmageddon and save the own.
No one dies, and Ford and Stan reconcile at the end.
Series ends with an epilogue showing the twins getting ready to go back to Gravity Falls next summer.
Does anyone know where that pic with Dipper and Tyrone dancing where it looks like Tyrone is flirting with Dipper,
Dipper looks like he's falling for it,and Dipper says "What exactly are you doing?"?
Since Weirdmageddon is a multi-parter, what's the cliff hanger going to be for this episode?
What will the episode end off with until February, at the earliest?
Will it involve Stan?
6 DAYS LEFT
Any drawfriends around? If so, I would like to request a drawing of the scene in "Candy Monster" where Dipper says that the monster is "a little funny, glued to the...", then gets hypnotized by the TV.
>The information, opinions and series of clues hidden in this program
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Probably. We already had a good reason to worry about what's going to happen to Stan's eyes.
>I have plenty of right eyeballs, I just need a left
That also reminds me of the theory that Ford's left eye is a fake glass eyeball.
It plays another part in building up to Stan and Bill's eventual confrontation.
while I don't want there to be another season if they are ending the story now, I do think it would be nice if they showed at the end that all the mystery stuff didn't just wrap up forever with the series.
Yeah, some kind of glimpses of the unresolved mysteries in the show.
Including the Grand Unifying Theory of Weirdness.
That way, the magic never disappears.
It's gotta be important.
>Order today and get three letters back, free!
>three letters back
So, that seems like an obvious hint to use reverse Caesar to decode something.
But where's the code?
Sadly I don't think any of that will be resolved.
He replied to me, then I replied to him, I didn't realize he replied to the wrong person (me) until he pointed that out later.
I think we may see Mabelland Dipper fight the real Dipper. Same goes for Wendy and Soos.
Also, there may literally be no way to escape the bubble; once you enter it, that's it ("LOCKED AWAY FOREVER"). Wonder how it'll play out.
Bill's is the all seeing eye, the evil eye, the eye of providence. He NEEDS his eye.
Dipper did the right thing when he went for Bill's eye, he didn't let himself get hit like with his top hat... Bill used a blue force field to protect that eyeball for a reason.
The ultimate dealing between the two eternal conmen, Stan and Bill:
An eye for an eye.
>I think we may see Mabelland Dipper fight the real Dipper.
I really want that now.
With the thing in the preview of Bill saying that the bubble is the most diabolical trap ever really makes me think that the anon who said it was like that one Superman comic was right.
> What is it based on?
It's been a while since I came across the theory, but as best I can remember:
- Bill's reaction to Dipper's body in Sock Opera:
>Man, it has been so long since I've inhabited a body.
>And two eyes? This thing's deluxe!
Which, to be fair, seems like a natural comment for a mono-eyed being to make. It only took on significance when we learned that Ford served as Bill's go-to vessel for a significant amount of time.
- Ford's reaction to Stan''s arrival at the Shack in AToTS:
>Who is it?! Have you come to steal my eyes?!
as well as the as yet unexplained blood on Bill's page in Journal 3. Since we know that Ford was afraid Bill was coming after him at that point, his concern about his own eyes in particular is interesting. Journal 3 is also the one with the most warnings about Bill, and he amended the entry after they had their falling out. It's possible Bill was the one to injure or remove his eye.
- Ford's glasses. He come out of the Portal in a very roughed up state, like he came out of a warzone. One of the details was a crack in the left lens of his glasses. But while he's replaced the rest of his post-Apocalyptic gear, he's kept the messed up glasses. The idea is that he can't see our of that eye, so the crack doesn't bother him.
- the proliferation of glass eyes in the Shack, as well as Stan's adoption of an eyepatch for his Mr. Mystery persona. Where'd it all come from?
Personally, I'm not sold on it. It's a little edgy for a kids' show, and the timeline is questionable (did he lose the eye before Stan showed up? Or while he was in the Portal? What about Bill involvement, then? etc.). But it's an interesting idea.
Let's list whatever could be related to the clue and try to crack this baby up, shall we?
>618 was present again
>three letters back
>JME or even MJMERM
>one eye out of the jar by the cash register
>Stan not being present on-screen in Weirdmageddon is only due to him just not having a bigger role in it
>Stan returns for the finale and his disappearance is never addressed
>Stan gets kicked from the Mystery Shack afterwards and we have no idea what his plans for living are
>end card shows normal Stan
I'd be mad
618 can probably be discounted since it's a recurring symbol which hasn't had any particular meaning in its previous appearances.
Could be A1Z26, but on its own it doesn't produce anything interesting.
If there's anything, it's definitely encoded with 'three letters back' since that phrase even plays backwards during the eyeball jar close-up. But there really doesn't seem to be something to decode. Weird!
There has to be something. Look at pic related.
>The information, opinions expressed and series of clues hidden in this program
>series of clues hidden
Fuck yes, I'm going full investigation mode now.
Also, since this clearly is going to be a series of shorts, every short is going to have a clue and if we collect all the clues, we might obtain the key to unlocking a greater puzzle.
I cracked the code, guys. Mystery solved, everyone go home.
Well, I give up for now. Hopefully there are more ads coming, because this doesn't seem to be a complete puzzle as is.
I did, however, just notice that the lone eye is in Mabel's colour. And that the boxes stacked up behind it form a rough pyramid.
inb4 Mabel's physical body is asleep inside the Fearamid, and the bubble is a ruse as well as a trap.
i don't remember footballl ever hinting she liked dipper.
I think Pacifica makes more sense, especially when she only liked him hardcore in that shitty episode with the man bashing.
So the Mabel inside the prison is a construct?
I wonder if Mabel is another of Bill's "Wardens". She thinks she's keeping everyone safe by making them accept staying inside the bubble.
>this will be the last shot before the credits
>see you all in March
It wouldn't surprise me.
Yeah there's been a massive war going on for a while between SJWs and certain shippers. Just a reminder that tumblr is not a hive mind. The SJWs keep trying to drag the show creators into it too, trying to get them to tell the shippers to stop.
What did that AU even offer besides "GF in Japan"?
At least other AUs like Reverse or Relativity swaps things around to make it a bit interesting
It could just be called Japan AU without rustling anyone's jimmies.
Alternately: I don't remember all the details, but it was supposed to revolve around typical supernatural anime cliches, right? Why not Anime Falls? Or, if that's too generic, you could call it Gravity Shrine/Shrine Falls. Something to give a clearer idea of the setting change. Shinto AU? Japanese Medium AU?
Hit the nail on the head.
I don't really mind actual social justice discourse, (e.i. "racism and sexism and transphobia are bad and we should speak out against it when we see it") but there's this really militant group of people that's developed over time that's deadset on bullying people and using contrived excuses to justify it. "Oh it's in the name of Social Justice so I can't be held accountable for leading harassment-fueled smear campaigns against 14 year olds!!!! I'm the victim here uwu!!!"
These people want to ignore that fiction and reality are two separate things and spam and harass anyone who ships anything abusive or incestous. They claim rule 63 is inherently transphobic and then scream 'UGH CIS PEOPLE!' when asked to explain why and how that is. It's fucking insane and I don't get it. I saw someone accusing people of being pedophiles for shipping Mabifica the other day. Not for posting underage smut or anything, just for shipping two kids. It's a trend to insist that even aged up smut is somehow still pedophilia.
It used to be barely be a problem, but now you can hardly go in any tag without seeing that sort of nonsense. I miss the days when tumblr was just this fandom space populated primarily by girls and there wasn't all this rampant bullshit.
The batshit insanity is what made me finally switch from using primarily tumblr to coming to /co/ and /vg/ to get my fandom fix. 4chan has been working out a lot better for me. I'm not really a fan of all the pedo shit but hiding posts isn't that difficult when compared to trying to find sane rational people on tumblr.
I miss when this show was good. This whole thing reeks so stronl of Alex trying to impress the Rick and Morty people.
"Gee guys look at me! I-i can be edgy t-too! Since Disney is essentially firing me in 2016 can i come shit all over your show too?"
I'm gonna get my tumblr on here:
The problem with tumblr is how many TERFs there are. For example, Rule 63 was literally invented by trans women, and yet TERFs in their 30s are bullying girls that are like, 14, into agreeing with their POV. These people tend to be overweight too and instead of benefitting of Tumblr's body-positivity movement their bully people who disagree with it, which is fine in my opinion with pro-eating disordered stuff, but not with someone drawing a thin Rose.
You'll notice that callout blogs that were originally made by kids to shit on literal sexual predators have been overrun by TERFs also, and then it snowballed out of control.
That part of tumblr is like the /pol/ of sex and gender, except that it's harder to contain (That being said it isn't hard IMO, I love tumblr. Just be mindful of who you follow.)
>I miss the days when tumblr was just this fandom space populated primarily by girls and there wasn't all this rampant bullshit.
Those girl grew up and went to college. That's why it went to shit.
I'm sorry if it sound sexist, but modern women kind of suck at that age. It's not because of higher education, because second wave feminists had that and picked actual careers and shit instead of Gender Studies: it's the echo chambers.
I like discussing things here because it doesn't matter what opinion is held, it has a chance of being shat on regardless and it's nothing personal.
Avoid Wendycorduroy at all costs. If you start a tumblr make it your first order of business to go through her shit, find her little conclave of special snowflake friends, block them and then block the fuck outta her. Then you will have few problems on tumblr unless you draw fat people thin or say the truth about muslims.
It's weird that someone namedrops her every goddamn time we talk about tumblr. Why did you follow her in the first place? Her about says it all. Were you one of those people that worshipped Manzi?
Yeah pretty much. The whole social justice movement has been taken over and appropriated by people who have zero interest in actually combating injustice and just want to start shit on the internet so they can feel important and righteous. I think you're really onto something with TERFs being the primarily perpetrators of that.
And now the hot mess that's been created from all this all that the internet at large is capable of seeing in the tumblr, and as a result they refuse take anything real activists say seriously.
As a woman who just started college, I don't get why my peers have suddenly all started losing their fucking minds. It saddens me, and I hope that later down the road they'll all grow out of this edgy 'if you disagree with me on the internet you deserve to be doxxed' phase.
Now that Manzi has been reduced to shit tier can we all admit we only tolerated her because she was dating le manlet and we thought if we cozied up to her she would give us some real dirt on the show during the hiatuses. Did anyone ever really care about, "muh cosplays"?
TERF means Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist. They think that trans men are women who are too weak to fight for other women and that trans women are men infiltrating them to rape them all basically. And they're also usually pro-murdering of the disabled and intersex people, if they acknowledge that intersex people exist at all.
Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist. Basically, if you're a feminist who doesn't think Trans count as "real women".
Frankly, I don't think they count either. I'm not a fan of third wave feminism and whatnot so this whole talk of privilege doesn't strike well with me, but I do realize there are things that are really fucked up for women and don't think it'd be right for me to co-opt in their stuff because I "feel like one" but didn't go through any of their struggles, you know?
Like, I didn't have to deal with a fucking period when I was twelve, I didn't get told I should worry about locking down a man instead of being my own person and I certainly didn't get only complimented on looks growing up. I can relate to shit if someone explains it to me, but I can't say I truly understand because I didn't go through it.
Nobody is forcing you to understand trans people, but one thing is not understanding, and the other one is outing someone and actively want them to die off. You should respect how other people identify as, besides, trans people don't earn anything: They lose a LOT of respect and safety. For example in many countries including USA it's legal to beat a trans person to death. TERFs applaud this.
Another thing is, radical feminists are probably the feminists you actually hate, and TERFs are the worst part of that. Do the world a favor and hate them too.
Basically, I can't wait until they die off
The thing is most of it is to do with the social issues which anyone can be involved in really.
I mean if you go off things like periods there are plenty of women out there who don't get them, can never be pregnant, have no tits ect ect, would a TERF kick them out for not being a 'real woman'? The answer of course is they wouldn't, it's all based on considering someone else to be 'tainted' by masculinity.
>Nobody is forcing you to understand trans people, but one thing is not understanding, and the other one is outing someone and actively want them to die off. You should respect how other people identify as, besides, trans people don't earn anything:
>Another thing is, radical feminists are probably the feminists you actually hate
Who the fuck are you responding to? >>77523917's post said nothing about being unable to empathize with or deliberately outing trans people, or about hating feminists. That sure is a lot of words you just shovelled into their mouth.
>For example in many countries including USA it's legal to beat a trans person to death.
Preeeeeetty sure that's not true. I know what you meant by it, but still.
Maybe the first step is to not actually hate anybody. That's my big issue with social justice, it's rooted in hate.
It is though, as long as you prove that you beat the person for being surprised or offended at their trans-ness and not for any other reason like attempted theft. Seriously look it up.
It's rad-feminism that is rooted in hate. Social Justice is a good thing. Conglomerating both into one isn't doing the world favors though.
Gotta love Nate and Gompers.
Am I the only one who thinks this was pretty lazy? Freezing all the other characters just seems like extraordinary laziness to me.
It works though, when it shouldn't be legally allowed, but yeah it's a defense.
Doesn't invalidate the point that TERFs validating it isn't fucked up. Sorry if I'm being antagonistic by the way it's not my intention
>TFW your favourite fanfic is a crossover
that got abandoned
Define "works". All the cases on Wikipedia ended in guilty sentences. Two were downgraded from murder to manslaughter, one of which definitely would have been changed either way. Basically, in 1/8 cases it had an effect.
Gonna admit that I didn't read the wiki article but in recent cases all it did was for the literal murderer to go to a mental institution for less than 6 months which is just depressing and scary
but not really though. otgw is an alice in wonderland style journey of two normal kids through a fantasy world and its rules, while gf is about the elements of the weird and fantastic intruding into the normal world.
tone wise they have pretty much nothing in common.
Gravity Falls and the Smurfs?
get it? because alex is a small person
