>Not understanding what kind of huge inflated senses of self worth that the dregs of society gain from living under a tyranny
He'll be the ONLY happy one.
So then /co/, How many Micro, Kilo, Mega, Giga and Penta-Hitler's has Rick (just c-137) collected?
i would assume around 12 Giga-Hitler's, he's destroyed the earth a few times apparently, and several other planets, also a few micro/mini/tinyverses.
Twelve counts of firstтАУdegree murder, fourteen counts of armed theft, twenty two counts of piracy, eighteen counts of fraud, thirty seven counts of rape, and one moving violation.
>tfw based Justin blows the FUCK out of whiny thin-skinned bleeding heart tumblrites
I would honestly doubt if Rick actually has done any major sex crimes, given how he reacted to Morty's desire to "roofie" Jessica in Rick Potion #9. He went along with it, but by is reaction later, it's more likely that he just wanted Morty out of his hair at that point than that he really approved of it.
12 counts of murder and only 14 counts of armed theft seem a little low though.
Probably, but I don't think very many would care to. Ricks don't care about other Ricks, the opening to season two had that shot of like five of them dicking around and one vaporizes himself and the others don't seem to react at all. The general consensus must be "if this idiot got himself caught/killed, it's his own damn fault".
So those bug aliens are obviously the most dominant species of the galaxy and there's two races of them
>the hunched over naked winged ones
>the perfectly erect clothed ones
I wonder how much they get along? You think they have alien SJWs advocating for #HunchedOverAlienBugsLivesMatter?
>Morty uses one of Ricks gadgets and gets the Help of Evil Morty
>Evil Morty and Morty to Break Rick out of Jail
>They manage to Erase all of Ricks crimes from the intergalactic federal computer
>RICK IS BACK BABYYYY
Man Jerry was laying out hard truth dude. Their position would not be able to last, and Rick had dragged them into lives as galactic criminals and implied that if they tried to go back he'd let them be tortured to death.
Like he did it in the most sniveling, unlikable way possible but there's a reason Rick turned himself in.
Good finale i guess.
The Tammy reveal made me cringe, something really lame about it, like they trying too hard to manipulate they audience because people actually like Tammy/Bird Person.
In fact the whole Bird Person/Rick is depressed subplot has been really hacky. Rick's depression should have remained in the background for a while.
I really hope they put Beth and Jerry's marital problems to rest in the next season. It's really getting old. If they divorced it'd be nice to see them trying to get over one another and try to develop themselves as people.
I hope this happens. While I want to see more of the Ricks from other dimensions, plot-wise it'd be nice to see Morty definitively save Rick's ass
Insects such as ants or bees can develop into different forms and castes to serve roles within the hive society, despite all being the same species.
Get a load of this pleb. Even /v/ knows it's a Johnny Cash song.
I hope Jerry gets a job to advance the plot some, and to balance the power between him and Beth right now. It needs to be a back-and-forth relationship otherwise he'll turn into Homer Simpson.
So did you turn off that episode 12 minutes in and not watch it all?
He's on good terms with at least two of the six high council members, he invited them to his party in the S1 finale.
Murder over thousand separate occasions, Planet-scale genocide, Unliscenced posession and fabrication of weaponry, fabrication and posession of doomsday devices, arson, sentient lifeform trafficing, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, public urination, posession and employment of bioweapons, illegal cloning, experimentation on unwilling test subjects. vampire hunting without a liscence, theft of 4th dimensional property, illegal multiverse trespassing, slavery, destruction of government property, theft of government property, manslaughter, unliscenced colonization.
Anything else I didn't mention?
I love the irony in that one. Her handle is "seerofsarcasm" and yet she fails to see sarcams... Is this really what tumblr is like? Seems worse than the youtube comment section.
It seems likely that Rick led a group of rebels who engaged in asymmetrical warfare against an empire with far superior numbers and resources. Pretty easy to find something analogous in the real world, and study their tactics.
Rick fought and lost. The people who arrested him are the ones writing the laws. "Everything" isn't an exaggeration.
>I'll these people shouting about Evil Morty
They basically said after that episode aired in Season 1 that they'd never revisit Evil Morty because he was supposed to have gotten away. The Universe is a big place, and the spirit of Rick and Morty is that not everything needs to be explained or expanded upon. Some stuff in Season 2 subverts that initial claim, but bringing Evil Morty back would basically only be doing it because the audience wants it, which would be blatant pandering, and all around a really poor move on Roiland's part. I'm satisfied if we never see him again.
All the wild sex with hive mind slaves would make that an automatic yes.
Some ricks are. I can easily see him doing some kid like species that is biologically a kid but 100+ years old.
Why would they? As I recall he also killed a few of them when escaping. Far as we know only a handful of them like him as evidenced when one was at his party.
Tumbler itself? Not so much. Its just a growing population of college kids who want to live in victimized bubble and right wrongs.. A.K.A SJWs.
A good portion of it yeah, but tumblr is like 4chan; multiple small communities. There's people who can take a joke and aren't really as "tumblr" as the others (it's fun to watch SJW fight SJW because one went full SJW and the other is just socially aware), and for a while when it used to recommend blogs it kept insisting that I follow all these white supremacist. There's also gunblr which is just /k/ on tumblr, and porn blogs, and hipsters that have upload photography and have no idea there's anything else on tumblr. Just, yeah, there's all kinds, but THIS is what people mean when they say tumblr. It's like how when people say 4chan, they just mean /b/.
I see... Then again, to be fair: While each board on 4chan does have its own culture, there is this overarching "climate" of rudness and insults that ties it together. (damn, why do I keep coming back?)
They have never said that, they said all of this will eventually be tied up as the series proceeds.
An over-arching plot is going on, Morty has changed a lot since the beginning of the series.
This has to be going somewhere.
>Rick makes that speech about how Tammy is eventually gonna get tired of Birdperson and leave him
>when he's the one who left his wife and daughter, not the other way around
What a hypocrite
>I can easily see him doing some kid like species that is biologically a kid but 100+ years old
So could I. Does anyone have that comic of someone who looks like a little girl, but says she's like a thousand years old and everyone's scared to be near her and arrested?
Yeah why exploit a cool plot hook when you can just go "NOT GONNA PANDER HA HA HA!" instead.
I think we'll see A evil morty again, if not the specific one that got away (though I'd be interested in seeing what his plan actually was since it seemed to be torturing morties for no reason.) because of Rick's mention of how dangerous it is for Morty to get cocky and how much more confident Morty's been lately.
Here's the thing, man.
If you put creative leashes on an artist, their output gets shittier. Proven fact.
The show evidently places a huge priority on creativity. If they say they don't want to be tied down, then stop fucking complaining. What have YOU made lately?
How is "do something totally different every week" any less of a leash than "follow up on a plot hook"?
Thanks for expanding my mind though, bro, I also appreciated the pot brownies and shitty advice about vaccinating my kids.
>Summer already has bigger tits than her mother
What is the "timeline" supposed to be in this scenario? Every human Morty we've seen has been the exact same age. They're aging in realtime, so it's not like this whole Morty cycle could have been going on for longer than the past year.
You don't have to be a filmmaker to be a film critic, but if you're complaining about aspects of production and the creators tell you why, only an idiot would continue holding that torch.
Man, you don't have to be an asshole about it. Pot brownies are great, vaccinate your kids.
Does the word 'continuity' mean anything to you? Because personally, I find it way easier to write 10 decent shorts than a complete movie. You are dramatically increasing the complexity of the work, and simultaneously increasing resentment of their own subject matter because it's not what the creators enjoy.
I hope they do a fake out and pretend the status quo was returned.
>The family is sitting on the couch
>Rick casually walks in and says something snarky, sits down and takes a swig
>the family looks bored and doesn't respond
>he falls apart into a gory mess
>They groan and Summer calls out "clean up your mess, Morty"
>If you put creative leashes on an artist, their output gets shittier. Proven fact.
Patently false. Some artists work best within defined boundaries - sometimes despite themselves.
>I know what's best for you, better than you do
That's more to blame on the anonymity of it, I'd think. Though you could say tumblr has the opposite problem where being tied to a blog and identity helps fuel self-righteousness and all the normal ego driven conflict you'd expect.
AND WHAT GUL'DAN MUST WE GIVE IN RETURN?
Not that anon - why do you keep asking questions instead of just getting to the point? Do you think it makes you look smarter? Cause you're kind of being a dick.
But seriously, though, tell us what you're thinking.
>HOLY SHIT THAT FINALE
>go to archive.moe to read the reactions
Goddammit, I blame that /r9k/ shooter.
You can feel superior to a random anon all you like, bud, whatever helps you sleep at night.
You haven't contributed a thing apart from mocking a logical assumption and asking underwhelming questions. If you have something to say, just say it.
>It's more likely that Tammy gets wrecked than Squanchy being vanquished by all the Federation soldiers surrounding the wedding
Okay, bud. That seems like a huge stretch to me, but whatever floats your boat.
The only thing you've said is
"So, are we ignoring what happened with Tammy and Squanchy now?"
Let's hear your theory, then. Better make it airtight, because I'm going to shit all over it once you do.
>I watch Rick and Morty because it's a smart show for smart people.
I was kind of hoping we'd get more backstory from Rick about his wife, or the life of his family and stuff. How long ago did he leave Beth? Maybe he saw Morty as a child and fled sometime after that?
That's good, I'd be satisfied too. Seems like the mindslavery with Unity could easily fill rap sheets on rap sheets.
>Literally have nothing to add to the thread but insults
You have my pity.
The Council of Ricks likes the cut of Rick's jib enough that he was council-eligible. Their only beef with him was that he didn't want to be part of the Council.
So they may still feel like protecting him as a Rick is important, or they might agree to help him if he agrees to comply.
Everything. Didn't you hear him?
Obviously he's in for doing things like selling illegal weapons on the black market, unlicensed use of government controlled resources, multiple counts of resisting arrest, multiple counts of various degrees of murder, unlicensed use of portals, and undoubtedly a lot lot more.
>If you put creative leashes on an artist, their output gets shittier. Proven fact.
George Lucas disproves your theory completely. The more creative control he got, the worse Star Wars got. Empire is largely regarded to be the best movie and it's the one he had the least control over.
God, I am still feeling awful about last night's episode. I was up all night.
The stupidest part is it is easy to show in an infinite multiverse, in some version, Morty will be an adult, and not actually blood related to Rick in any fashion, and they are in a healthy, loving relationship. In other universes, Rick perfected his phoenix project, was able to download his mind into a child clone body of this own, and shared this technology with the people he loved (Beth, Summer, Morty). After "recloning" a few dozen times, he's in a healthy romantic relationship with all of them, just as they are with him.
The Council of Ricks would let him rot. he's nothing but trouble for them, and he refused to join their society.
Evil Morty will not be saving Rick. Why would he? Even if our Rick is the only Rick in existence that feels for Morty and his family, Evil Morty would let Rick hang. He'd rather fuck up the Council of Ricks.
Morty, Summer, and their mother Beth will raid the prison. Jerry will be dragged along. They will portal to a new universe where that Rick just fucked up an experiment and got the entire family killed. They will take over their lives, and Jerry will have a job there. Status quo resumed.
Except Beth will be a human surgeon there, and still make 50x what Jerry makes.
This is completely true. Compare how much more nornal Sting's stuff was with the Police or how much better Kevin Smith's early stuff was. Same with Alan Moore and Frank Miller and Joss Whedon. Creators need to be protected from themselves.
You still have to have some kind of understanding of script structure and movies to be a credible critic. You can't just watch shit and go "it sucks because I pointed out some things I didn't like"
I feel success in some cases can aggravate an already acute case of cranial-anal inversion. They begin to believe their poor ideas don't stink and enter a fan induced echo chamber of ideas shutting out critique that could prove of assistance in maintaining the quality of their creations.
Could they still be alive?
Also, Gravity Falls reference again.
Anyone can be a critic. Being a good critic requires that your assessments be more based in reason than sentiment.
In a setting like Rick and Morty's, it is true that not everything gets explained, and in some ways that's part of the appeal. You're kinda swept up in the adventures, you see some of their adventures but aren't omniscient.
However, the idea that a character like Evil Morty coming back being "Pandering" is admittedly dumb. You have a character who obviously has grander ambitions, never got caught. and didn't get to accomplish his goals.
For the record, Roiland has said that he might return in season 3. Nothing set in stone, but not disqualified either.
That just means that he made the best stuff when he was collaborating with talented people. It's not like he was an incredible genius when he didn't have complete creative control. George Lucas didn't go from being an amazing artist to an idiot by being given the freedom to do what he wants. He just used to have people who could stop him from putting out terrible ideas, and then over time he was surrounded by yes-men.
Working with more talented people isn't a "creative leash" or a constraint.
In direct contrast with how poorly he did on the unregistered asteroid where Jerryboree was located.
Life on the asteroid was how Rick likes it - people have jobs and shit but there's no bureaucracy micromanaging people, everyone just kind of does their own thing and gets by.
Life on Orwell Earth will be like how Jerry likes it - a world run by losers with no personal responsibility because everything falls on someone higher up the food chain and you're just a cog in the machine doing your little turn.
The core elements of Star Wars came from taking the essence of Lucas' ideas and refining them to make something better. Lucas has great and terrible ideas, it's just that without other people to reign him in and tell him which ideas are shit he doesn't operate nearly as well.
For example, let's say Roiland makes a joke. He thinks it's hilarious, but everyone else in the entire office thinks the joke falls flat on its face. By your logic, that joke should be put in the show and flop on national TV, because telling him he can't put the joke in is a "creative leash."
Exactly - regardless of how talented or brilliant you are, at the end of the day you need to surround yourself with people who aren't afraid to disagree with you or tell you an idea is crap.
Kinda like the guy that spammed every thread the night of Interstellar Cable 2 about how it wouldn't be 'true improv' unless they let every single garbage skit Justin came up with through and onto production.
Is the Pilot canon or isn't it? I thought Justin said the pilot was non-canon because it has some elements that don't really mesh with the rest of the show, like time travel and rick's gun running out of charge.
Fuck you. That wasn't the point at all. If they went back and made better skits, then it would stop being improv. Christ, learn to actually read what people say you retarded niggering twat.
Improv is always a mixed bag. To say "do it again, but better" would make be normal acting.
No. I'm right, you're wrong. Yes, plenty of the skits were shit, I never denied that. But the fucking point still stands, you can't call it improv if you're making people do it over until it's "good".
Go shitpost elsewhere you bleeding cunt.
>weeding out unfunny skits for ones that actually work
>not my improv
maybe you should improv your opinion by realizing that pruning shit and leaving the skits that work doesn't equate to the good skits not being improv. they are still improvised, coming up with something on the spot is what makes them that way. that doesn't mean that you need to include all of them in order to make it 'true improv'. that's retarded.
Way to call out every case of potential autism you see, must be hard being this autistic.
>you can't call it improv if you're making people do it over until it's "good".
Except we don't know how many skits they had, and what was cut. Even then, we can assume that many within the episode we alter for time constraints and to animate better. And I didn't imply they had to keep all the improvs, just that making the actors do better would go against what actual improv is. Christ, learn to buttfucking read.
Well guess what, everyone has their own taste in comedy. For all we know, what was included was the best of everything they had, and they decided to go forward anyway to wrap up production instead of putting it off. Justin clearly knew it wasn't going to work out anyway, since he mentioned in the one interview that it was "the worst episode in the series thus far"
nice goal post shifting. so by that logic improv is terrible because it costs money to animate/pay actors. the jokes in the improvs were garbage, i couldn't care less if they were off the cuff or rehearsed, or were shoddily animated. they literally weren't funny.
>For all we know, what was included was the best of everything they had
This, I wouldn't doubt it. Improv is difficult, and it's very uncommon in cartoons like this. Although I wouldn't say it was the worst episode of the whole series, it had it's moments and NOTHING was worse than Raising Gazorpazorp.
>Your face when Jerry gets a job sucking biig sweaty dicks and licking hairy, disgusting testicle sacks
>Season 2 is being aired.
>"S2 is shit! S1 was so much better (it was PERFECT!), everything is terrible, this show is going downhill and they jumped the shark! REDDIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!"
>Season 2 is no longer new.
>"S2 was pretty good. It had bade episodes, just like S1 with Raising Gazopazord"
Never change, /co/
That happens with every show that gets any kind of mainstream appeal. Once the season is over all the casuals and shiteaters move on to the next thing to gripe about and people who actually watch the show to be entertained can post in peace.
It's not my fault Justin Roiland said it's not canon because it has some elements that don't really mesh with the rest of the show, like time travel and rick's gun running out of charge
It wasn't a goalpost shift you twat. We really don't know the entire deal with that episode. And even then, whether you found them funny or not is subjective. Some liked them, some didn't. Stop trying to speak for everyone about what they can and can't find funny.
to be fair Ashley Craig WAS actually handling the conversation very calmly. I would have just said agree to disagree and left if at that.
The other 2 posters on Tumblr however can get #BTFO
find me someone who liked the episode, and prove you aren't defending it's shittiness because of some belief that people are decrying the quality of animation, or the takes that were used. interdimensional cable was funny and didn't have better takes, there were at least one or two where you could hear them laughing at the end. the animation wasn't bad it was pretty much par for the series proper.
the jokes were shit and if they were the best that could be used for the episode then the only praise i can give them is not being as bad as the ones that were cut. the original argument you're making is to defend the nature of improv, remember that? i'm not saying they weren't improv or that improv is shit for not being rehearsed. i'm saying what they used was garbage, they even have rick outright state there was no point in having made the ep because they pretty much nailed it the first time.
>Bill Cipher and Journal symbol on the bottom left
man that's funny, but it always makes me think. why are people uncomfortable be pedophillia but comfortable with homosexuality? it's almost the same in terms of tabooness, like half a century ago people thought homosex would never be a legal marriage thing.I hope this doesn't derail the thread, tell me to stfu if it' gets to that point
I think he's "there's more than one bad episode". But in my opinion there's only one <bad> episode, which would be Interdimensional Cable 2. Then there are some regular episodes like the Purge (which wasn't bad but could have been funnier) and the rest were either fine or great.
That is exactly the problem. But Tumblr was never meant to be a social media site where it's considered rude to comment on posts, it was JUST supposed to be a site for all your blogs.
So the writers really hate Jerry. In order for him to be happy everyone else has to be completely miserable, and he doesn't give a shit. Whats the end game for Jerry as a character?
Also, anyone else get a Samurai Jack vibe from the ending of this episode? (Run down dystopian future earth overrun with weird aliens)
The end game for Jerry is sucking big sweaty dicks and licking hairy, disgusting testicle sacks, because that'll be the function he's assigned by the Galactic Federation after he admitted to that over the phone.
>Whats the end game for Jerry as a character?
Suicide. Except he fails and it turns out to be the wake-up call he needs to get his shit together and become a likeable character again.
And thats when they gather up all the freedom fighters and destroy the govorment.
To be rescued, obviously.
Squanchy, although hurt by the fact that Rick said Birdperson was his best friend, will pull their friends together (somehow) and will find a way to rescue him. Rick will not want to leave the government's custody, but will be taken from there anyway. He will then be welcomed home by his family, even Jerry..
Because pedophilia almost always involves molestation or rape. There are very few cases of consensual pedophilia and even then it can be argued that the children's brains are too underdeveloped for them to make their own choices.
...honestly its pretty simple the fact that you have to ask is a bit worrying
Necessity. Not having an out.
In Crongenbergverse the whole world went to shit, Rick was gone, and Jerry had no choice but to step the fuck up, because nobody else was left to.
On the asteroid he was way outside his comfort zone but he knew in the back of his mind he could always just run away back to the safety of Jerryboree no matter how bad things got.
Now he's going to get to continue being a lazy, selfish, irresponsible jerk on New and Improved Earth with a cushy, lazy job in the bureaucracy and no one expects any great things or changes out of him.
The joke is the sheer absurdity in and of itself. R&M are full of jokes like that - the creators have said the definitive joke in the first episode is where Morty knocks over something containing a glob, and it grows into a person and disintegrates before his eyes as he's running, and all Rick says to calm him down is "Don't think about it!"
The show is FULL of stuff that'll never be expanded on because the multiverse is vast and infinite.
>gives someone shit for being emotional about a cartoon
>is on /co/
Why are you harping on someone's post instead of discussing the cartoon? You're the one who seems a little autistic.
I agree with >>76390415 that the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. Kind of a downer ending.
>Whats the end game for Jerry as a character?
I'm not sure there is one, or that it matters. Jerry is the simply there for Morty to juxtapose with Rick. Jerry is the life lived ordinary, the slave who is happy because he doesn't know what he is. Morty will have to choose whether he will follow in his father's footsteps, or his grandfather's.
>Also, anyone else get a Samurai Jack vibe from the ending of this episode?
It reminds me of the optimism Americans had at the beginning of the 2nd Iraq war, that the "savages" will welcome our culture and accept us as saviors, that our technological might makes us right. Earth is going to rebel, and Rick will be the man to lead the resistance.
...Shit. You're right. I hate it when I do that.
Have a bird.
>'well at least we've got a nice post credit scene to cheer me up'
>mr poopy butthole is living along and is insane from his medication
Jerry has never been likable. He's always the butt of jokes and obvious to everything that isn't about himself.
The endgame is Jerry going back to being neglected, jobless, and still incapable of understanding why no one likes him. He doesn't even need Rick to return, he's totally capable of screwing up his own achievements; he almost got himself fired in the simulation Zigerions put him in. I bet hes probably will end up in space prison with Rick for debt or some white-collar crime he was tricked into doing.
He'll probably end up in jail over that seven thousand he's in debt to for those pills. Guaranteed they'll go full bureaucrat on his ass over the interest and lock him up over it.
Nah, the trick to cereal is to submerge it in the milk and eat it before it gets soggy and disgusting.
Dry cereal cuts the shit out of your mouth. Think of it like soup but with bread and milk. And a fuckload of sugar.
I just wanted to watch a silly show with good jokes. I never asked for these feels.
He's more interested in making new shows and other stuff... Which is most likely a bad move since none of them will gain this popularity.
It was the season ending yesterday. Cool your tits.
>become a likable character again
His entrance to the series involves him saying "Boom! Told you! In your face! He is ruining our child! Wait, what am I celebrating?", walking into his wife's place of work while she was in a surgery, being insecure about the possibility of his wife cheating and threatening to kill himself if it happens, and belittling his wife's career.
He's always been a bit of a shit, and if anything, him getting his structure upended a bit by Rick's presence in his life has made him have to be less outwardly dickish when he's being pathetic. We have yet to see how Jerry will be able to adjust to life on an alien-controlled world in the long term. He usually has a pretty traditional view of things, so even though he's got structure now, it may still take some getting used to.
>yfw when r&m starts getting venture bros tier amounts of time between seasons
>detoxing from alcohol binge all weekend
>decide to catch up on Rick and Morty while trying to catch bits of sleep
>hilarious purge episode
>nothing but sweaty nightmares about killing people and zombies and soldiers all night long
Fuck this, I'm never drinking again. When you wake up ten times in a single night because your booze/R&M induced dreams are that fucked up, it's time to quit.
I'm really tired of the incompetent horrible dad thing, the writers are really trying hard to make Jerry one-up Homer and Peter as being an unlikeable fuck. Can we get some actual character development with him?
I mean he's shown he can handle touugh situations such as in Cronenbergverse and the Marriage counseling subplot, why do the writers keep going back to making him an annoying shit?
>So the writers really hate Jerry
Jerry and Beth are both horrible people. That's the point of their characters. The big difference is Jerry has no reason to give a shit about Rick and actively and openly dislikes what he's done to their family.
He's the foil to Rick really. Despite Rick being a dick while completely smashed most of the time, he's selfless to a fault which is why he's in chronic agony about his life. Jerry is narcissistic and oblivious to anything but himself. Morty might be the dumb enough to shield Rick, but he's not stupid enough to even think about selling out his own grandpa.
I have a theory.
>Birdperson's big day was on blood ridge on Glapflaps third moon vs the Glompflimites
>Birdperson and Rick's history is soaked in blood
>What if the war isn't over
>What if there are surviving cells looking for Rick or Birdperson or Squanchy
>What if they finally find out where Rick is now that he is caught
>What if they stage a breakout to save one of their leaders
>What if the war is back on
>Rick and these freedom fighters start fighting the Galactic Federation again
>But Rick realizes he can't go back how it used to be
>His war is over
>But the next generations war is just heating up
>Or they just cut to another universe
I get the feeling that jerry's such a whiny ass because of Rick constantly treating him like shit. Jerry used to be a confident, if idiotic, person in the first couple of episodes. Its only because of Rick's constant bile that he breaks down. I mean, he's spent hundreds of bucks on calling a fake friend just so he has someone who doesn't make him feel like shit.
Well now it's clear enough to me that you're just shitposting. I'm going to ignore you now.
Rick DOES sell weapons to assassins. Imagine what else he's done for personal gain. I could easily see him being like some sort of comic book villain in everyone else's eyes.
Post yfw Season 3 starts with
a cold opening with Rick back with the family, and they're all reminiscing about the epic battle between them and their allies and the Federation to break Rick out that happened off season, and then the actual premiere is just another regular episode
Only because Rick is the only person to connect with his family. In a single year he was able to open up both his grandchildren and give Beth absolution she wanted after being "abandoned" (which is still rather unclear, exactly how long has rick been away from earth?).
I dont know if Jerry is realizing that he was never at the center of the family or if he's still oblivious and only noticing Rick when something shakes up the family like molemen or a slakaburg kept imprisoned in the garage.
for the love of squanch, no. let it be done i'm going to being so squanching angry if they bring her back, her purpose was fulfilled in creating the circumstances of the raid. loose end tied up.
devil's advocate here, but not if the parameters set weren't under the condition that the family be left unharmed and only given the perception of real danger.
Jerry is a very good character and often brings up the glaring holes in some of the things rick gets them into
he calls out Tammy for being 17 and marrying a 40+ year old bird alien man
he calls out Rick for being a huge piece of shit all the time
and most of all he is worried about his families safety more than the wacky adventures of his asshole father in law
rick suffers from Walter White syndrome, everyone likes the character no matter what awful shit he does. that doesnt necessarily mean he is a bad character, its just that he is far more interesting then Jerry is as a side character
Jerry did nothing wrong
>squanch the squanchy
Sweet candied Christ, anon, that's disgusting.
Chill the fuck out, this is a SFW board, dude.
>trying to borrow money from his teenage daughter.
>not asking rick to grow him a new penis after donating it to Shrimply Pibbles because he can't maintain responsibility for his choice
>can't accept critique for the whole 'hungry for apples' campaign.
he's imperfect but he does get more shit than he deserves
It's not pandering; Evil Morty's whole purpose was to kill Ricks. I doubt that almost being caught has tempered his hatred for them at all.
I can definitely see him coming back for a future episode.
Ok, what exactly is Beth's issue. Why is she so adamant about keeping her deadbeat dad so close?
we all need to understand that arguing with an idiot is a losing battle because they will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience. not that i can/want do that. this is 4chan.
How do people say it?
"Co-nin" like the anime kid and the jackass on tv? Or "Co-nan" like the fictional barbarian by a suicidal writer from the 30s?
More like mommy issues. Apparently her mother was somehow worse than her alcoholic, sociopathic father who jumps dimensions, is a terrorist in at least the one she lives in, and takes her son on dangerous excursions across the multiverse like it's the magic school bus.
It's the first time Rick's been a part of Beth's life. Beth CLEARLY has deep-seated daddy issues (feature that, a woman with daddy issues), but we really need to see how Beth grew up to see how her life played out to where it is right now. She most likely hated her mother and blamed her for Rick leaving.
>and even then it can be argued that the children's brains are too underdeveloped for them to make their own choices.
It can also be argued that laws are retarded, where it's okay for an 18 year old to pledge their life to a country and die in combat while their minds aren't fully developed yet, and yet they aren't allowed to drink or gamble.
There ARE periods of time where portions of the brain are developed to a basic standard of intelligence.
maybe she thinks if rick had been part of her life she would have been more fulfilled or encouraged to succeed as a doctor instead of ending up married to jerry and a horse heart surgeon.
>there are two laws that don't make sense so all laws like them are equally frivolous/baseless
My family and friends have always pronounced it like "caw-nin" ("caw" being like a crow's caw). A few times I've heard it pronounced like "coh-nan" (coh rhyming with row), but two of those people were talking about the barbarian film and the other had a naturally weird-sounding way of speaking.
Not that guy, but 'an hero' is a pretty big part of 4chan culture in general. You just sound like you have a chip on your shoulder.
I'd ask whether or not a recent event made you react this way but you'd just post a reaction image and call me 'edgy'.
>he is far more interesting then Jerry
It's THAN, you sack of shit.
It takes way too much effort to not go moderate grammar nazi, and yet I broke. I was doing so well, too.
>the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. Kind of a downer ending.
Let's see what happens in like,
a year and a half
>there are two laws that don't make sense so all laws like them are equally frivolous/baseless
>using a strawman to support your own retarded ineptitude
If you aren't intelligent enough to base your own morales on your own perspectives, and need laws to tell you to do so, you're a dangerous person who I don't feel comfortable letting vote.
It's why the Jury system still exists today you dipshit, so people can decide whether or not the accused should be guilty, not whether or not they are or aren't. Look up what Jury Nullification is, dumbass.
Pretty much what >>76400738 said. Still, there's always a chance that Tammy might have been "replaced" by the one we see ruining Birdperson's big day.
Seriously, that's even more disrespectful than shitting in the punch bowl.
the argument was that we don't allow teenagers to be soldiers but not to drink/gamble. which is an inherently weak argument given that these are the type of law that is perpetuated by fear-mongering of the past(prohibition era fear-mongering at that)/is incorrect in all states excepting nevada.
there are plenty of nations without a drinking age or whom hold it at 18, and gambling laws are regional considering that most gambling in the u.s. which is where i and the person i'm responding do live. Most states allow the purchase of lottery tickets (see: gambling) at age 18, because I distinctly recall this from my youth. Further that any other gambling outside of at reservations which is based on their laws and is allowed for 18 year olds. but describing these laws as being incorrect or flawed making age of consent/pedophilia up for debate is stupid.
Age of consent is even differing from state to state based upon their laws. Being a pedophile isn't, and for good reason. Implying that all laws are the same across the board in a nation or worldwide is ignorant and thinking that the american voting system isn't a sham is dangerous and stupid group think (see the electoral college).
Spouting a legal term doesn't make you smart I find anyone who believes his opinion is more valid because he can is the dangerous one. nice assumptions though.
Cyril is sort of likable. Fucked over constantly by his coworkers, and a bit beta, but he's usually a pretty nice guy and gets some points in his favour (surprisingly competent in certain areas of expertise, often the voice of reason, biggest dick).
whose to say jerry isnt stacked
and his fucking Elliot, so thats a huge plus
i mean, out of everything Jerry has a pretty awesome life and has been able to hold his marriage together far better than Rick did
yeah but he dicked over lana (kek) with his cheating; and to be honest, parnell loses pretty all the points as far as i'm concerned about by being the progressive insurance box.
cash covered it, doing a better job though. his version gave me feels.
ROLL THE CREDITS
THAT'S THE END, ROLL THE CREDITS
THAT'S THE END OF SEASON TWO
EVERYTHING IS MY NEW CATCHPHRASE
Selling out Rick is a completely legitimate course of action. Rick has SOME loyalty to the family, but he's the only reason they were in hiding as isolated space-hermits, and he's a huge monster and tremendous dick to most other people. Even where his family is concerned, Rick has abandoned them all to suffer/die while he ported out to a new universe at LEAST once. Rick's not a good person, and given that he treats Jerry (perhaps deservedly) with no respect, Jerry really has no reason to stick his neck, out or endanger and ostracize his children, for his sake.
I get a Samurai Jack vibe from this entire show, because it has the potential for some really solid worldbuilding and continuity, but it will spend most its time on serial adventures.
At least this has character progression.
No they haven't. Time travel is not possible in that universe according to the creators. The gun didn't run out of charge in Get Schwifty. Morty did though.
You're right about the time traveling bit. The niggers from the fifth dimension could do it. But just those niggers. Glip glops still can't.
Those people on the marriage counseling planet deserved what happen.
Who the fuck thinks making PHYSICAL versions of a person's psychological visions of their spouse is remotely a good idea? What, holograms too fucking retro for you retards?
Technically though, he didn't commit the vast majority of those crimes, it was the Rick who died when the current Rick came over from the Cronenberg universe.
Lana had it coming. She was evasive of ANY forward steps in the relationship, was one of the coworkers who mocked and belittled him on the regular, and still actively swooning over (and, unless my memory fails me, contemplating cheating with) Archer at the time.
It's not as if he didn't try. He was pretty upbeat at the beginning, considering that they were forced to abandon their lives back on Earth. It was only after the entire family (except Rick) had become ragged from living on the tiny planet that he suggested they turn Rick in.
And their way of checking to see if the monsters were still in there was to send a guy in. They didn't have cameras, heat-detection, or the ability to look through a window twice, they had to send a guy in.
I do have to wonder what their visions for the rest of the family are, and how the family view each other.
Consider the following:
Animated Community (but with a style that's not shit like this one) by Harmon and Roiland
i'd be skittish too after being in a relationship with archer, and he didn't just cheat once it was 10 times. if we're going objectively.
10 > 0
all damn day long. but again i mostly just hate that he voices the progressive insurance box. i actually have defended jerry on multiple occasions for being the unpopular but oft times voice of reason. cyril isn't THAT bad.
Nobody is even attempting to defend the Progressive Insurance Box. I hate that fucker. I bet that box is an awful person to his spouse and smaller box offspring.
Just saying, as are you: Cyril's not that bad. The cheating was at least PARTLY Lana's fault, in my opinion, or at least the way she treated him. The drama and open pining for her ex that she brought into the relationship was bound to sour it. It's not a total justifcation, but a mitigating factor.
Even if it's not, Cyril would STILL end up more likable than most of his coworkers, except maybe Pam. I mean, as far as people you'd actually want to spend time around go.
>tfw thinking about the feelsiest ending
>Cronenberg universe never throws a party at Rick's
>Bird person never shows up and meets Tammy
>All of Rick's friends still alive because he's not around
