>actually suspenseful atmosphere
Now there's something I haven't felt from a cape movie in a long time. Hoping the trailer-movie discrepancy isn't as large as Man of Steel's (though I still like the movie admittedly).
It needed more scenes like that. Scenes were Superman is clearly unsettled by people worshipping him.
Because this wasn't done in 2007?
Why is Superman at an insane clown posse concert?
That's the point. The entire movie deals with Superman, but from the points of view of everyone else in the DCU. I think it's a great way of incorporating Batman into the mix while still keeping Superman as a main character: Have Superman as the plot focus, but Batman as the lens through which we see him.
Dark and gritty Daredevil = Marvel praised
BvS has a teaser of mostly nighttime scenes = DC is too dark
Never changes, /co/...
>Batman vs Superman somehow isn't /co/ related
There isn't a reaction image to properly convey how fucking stupid you are.
A large part of the movie involves people's perception of Superman. They're establishing that, and offering his own opinion aside from facial expressions would undermine that theme.
When the trailers actually happen, we'll here more from him. For now, he's a distant savior/demon.
>Devils don't come from Hell beneath us, they come from the sky.
I'm really interested in seeing Eisenberg as Luthor.
Also he didn't speak in his quick pace, mouth moving at the speed of sound, enunciation is for losers voice he had in the facebook movie. So one of my problems are alleviated I think
>The entire film deals with Superman from everyone else's perspective
This is news to me, got any sources on that?
I am too, I was curious about the aesthetic of him being portrayed as Luthor but hearing his voice, it fits a bit more because I was previously associating him with the Social Network and that magician movie. He certainly has the charisma for it as is evidence in the trailer but I want to see how interacts in universe with other characters. Possibly having a dialogue with Batman about Superman.
>This is news to me, got any sources on that
Actually trying to analyze and interpret information and teasers? I mean you could come up with that entire thesis simply from the act of having Batman in this movie and the role he plays
hooooly wow batfleck in motion got me a wet. hes so fucking imposing, like a rippling mountain barely contained by his suit. hnng
>less than a year until the movie comes out
I WANT IT NOW
Batman looks great thanks to all the dark and gritty. But Superman looks equally shitty due to all the dark and gritty.
WB should stop trying to reinvent the characters, they're not very good at it.
This time, they put the fake muscles INSIDE the suit.
You got it right at last.
Because you did a poor Superman in MoS? Your Zod was pretty awesome though so maybe you are good with bad guys? Maybe that will make Superman better somehow? Then again Zod was god because of Shannon.
But that's ludicrious? How could you ascertain that the entire film is going to be about Superman through other's eyes from our very first look at trailer? Given that it does give that implication that's jumping the gun a bit, no? I still have faith in the film even though it gives the impression that Superman is going to be a menacing God like figure, looming over everyone waiting to judge them even though he may be adverse against it at first.
I know people complain about others saying not muh Superman but I believe between MoS and Injustice being as popular as it was and the Arkham games also being shown to be very entertaining games that DC and Snyder by extension are going to ride that gravy train to treat Superman's character as a beating mule to coast on.
Still not apologising because that's just what the trailer fed me. There were so many people who went up in arms about how Superman wasn't "that bad" or "evil' in Man of Steel and now this trailer comes out and everyone is singing praises of how of course they went this route, where else could they go after Man of Steel? Which is annoying because people would also say how inspirational and virtuous Superman was meant to be perceived in his "début" film. Sure it probably aren't the same people but Occam's Razor says otherwise.
When will DC learn that what works for Batman will not work for Superman
I mean yes you can be critical of Superman but not to that degree its basically painting him as this irresponsible figure
Criticize Batman all you want he's clearly a crazy vigilante
>I liked the first movie
>I was never a fan of Superman
>I like the idea o him being a dubious demigood
>I like the idea of Batman getting BTFO
>mfw I liked the trailer as well
Keep crying meme of murder
Where did you get that impression, because literally everything else suggests the exact opposite.
Supes is clearly set up as the bad guy throughout the trailer, though clearly as a misunderstood figure.
>How could you ascertain that the entire film is going to be about Superman through other's eyes from our very first look at trailer
It's a working thesis. Of course you have to see the film to corroborate but I'm confident I would hypothetically be able to write an essay on that idea once the movie comes out
I just hope all of this ends with Superman being actually heroic and someone inspirational and..well, Superman this time. The grimdark set-up actually seems to be working pretty well, but its not Superman unless you have hope in there too, personified by Supes.
Debatable. Superman wasn't acted poorly he was just written poorly. That's the thing for me, the direction of MoS is what gutted me, not the acting or even the cinematography. Just shit happened because it was "meant" to.
Lois being there, Perry being there, Krypton exploding, no one except for Phantom Zone people escaping, Pa Kent dying, etc. Shit like that bothered me because the film could have been fine without the obligatory shit that occurred because it was a part of the Superman lore.
>How could you ascertain that the entire film is going to be about Superman through other's eyes from our very first look at trailer?
Because the very first look an audience gets is what will color their understanding of the rest of the movie, and directors are aware of that? Because establishing a theme immediately is one of the basic rules of movie making? Because the entire beginning is about everyone offering their opinions on what Superman actually means, and they decided to show you those differing opinions alongside other shots of people reacting to Superman? Because far from judging anyone, Superman looks horrified at the cult that is forming around them? Because Superman starts off looking down on Batman as a god but ends up on equal footing with him?
>But that's ludicrious? How could you ascertain that the entire film is going to be about Superman through other's eyes from our very first look at trailer?
Because that's the tone the trailer sets off and it's the best representation of the film we have right now
>is going to be a menacing God like figure
Where did you get that idea, there wasn't any sign of Superman showing malevolence to anyone or anything in the trailer, in fact we saw shots of Supes being distraught about it
>There were so many people who went up in arms about how Superman wasn't "that bad" or "evil' in Man of Steel
He wasn't, and he isn't in this trailer. But people will obviously have a critical in-universe reaction to him, so they'll CONSIDER him bad.
>Still not apologising because that's just what the trailer fed me.
You've been posting this across every thread now, we don't care
>impact font reaction image
Literally, and I do mean literally, go back to reddit
I got the impression from the fact that Bats is going to go after the false god with a seemingly completely ignorant reason, at no time did Supes look like the agressor. This could be because this trailer didn't really show us everything that is going on, or because I'm not so casual as to think that Kal is going to put the world in a bottle.
>>he cant insult my shitty artist
>>i better stop him somehow
>>i know, i'll repeat myself
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that the tone is a misrepresentation of the movie for the sake of...something, I don't know.
I want Superman to be Superman by the end of the movie.
Batman can do whatever the fuck, he's hard to mess up, I just want Superman back.
>. Superman wasn't acted poorly he was just written poorly
He wasn't "acted" particularly well either. It was a toothpaste commercial-level performance. Just trying to look earnest while reading stupid dialogue.
My favorite line has to be from Alfred
"That's how it starts...a fever. The rage. The feeling of powerlessness. That turns good men...cruel..."
Given that the first movie was all about whether the world would accept Clark if he came out and this movie continues on that it was obviously intentionally done to lead into Luthor.
Bruce is just icing on top.
Notice how the only people complaining as always are the Superman fans?
I've heard nothing but good things from Batman fans about how Affleck looks and sounds but as usual the Superbabies have to make it all about their special snowflake and how this movie is all wrong because its clearly all about him.
In all likelyhood, Luthor will be the one who convinces Batman/Wayne to go after Superman, they'll fight, Bats will realize Supes is cool, and both will then know that Luthor is evil(ish), and then some other fight will happen towards the end where they team up.
Superman will be the hunted one (switching with Bats from Dark KNight returns)
Batman will realize his mistake.
Reacting to the backlash of the man of murder crap, I mean, what a better way to write how the public views the hero in a sequel than to use the actual publics' opinions on him. And with today's social media voice they have easy, and free aces to said views.
If Superman isn't an all powerful god, supesfags will whine and cry. They keep trying to say that he's down to earth and relatable but they'll never accept him if an adaptation of him isn't omnipotent.
Dude, I'm a Superman fan and I just love what I can get from the trailer. Earth 1 lines, Dark Knight Rises material, the previous trilogy of the Dark Knight. I can't wait to see what they've made.
>mfw if it turns out good
I don't know if I should stop myself from being hyped in fear of being disappointed, or if I should allow myself to have expectations at the risk of leaving the theater feeling cheated (like MoS)
The trailer didn't make me go either way. The very little of Batfleck we've seen has me on board, but I've been since his casting.
>Notice how the only people complaining as always are the Superman fans?
Entirely in it for Superman, hyped as shit. I thought it would just be Batman: Justice League but the fact that they're actually making Superman the plot focus made me happy
I'm sorry, did society develop a check list for determining if artwork is "good" and I just missed it, or are you talking out of your ass with words you don't understand?
This looks fucking great. I'm so fucking excited for this movie. I can't wait for it.
This movie is going to be shit.
I have NO faith in Snyder, no faith in WB, no faith in Affleck, no faith in Gadot.
Calling it now, this movie will have below 50% on RT and will do substantially worse at the box office than CA3. Screen cap this shit for next year.
>mfw loved Man of Murder
>mfw this looks even better
>mfw Age of Ultron is going to be garbage
Looks like shit, grimdark shit.
Why would anyone over the age of 12 would want to watch this movie after the trailer?
I don't want my heros fighting each other for the sage of being edge.
Worst thing is that the fucking batgod is going to win.
That spaceship is Russian. But my question is what is going on with that aircraft in the trailer? Is it Batman's? If so why is it targeting humans?
That's the entire point, notice how the only clear shot of Superman (in the OP) shows him as distraught about the people around him. It's a really lukewarm face as opposed to Bruce's "I'm going to beat the shit out of you" scowl
If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and is worshiped like a duck, it might be a misunderstood swallow but for all practical purposes it is a duck.
Clark's self opinion, in a tragic way, doesn't matter. In that sense, he's powerless. Other people's interpretation of him is much more important than whatever he actually set out to do. People want to lift him up and sing praises, Bruce/Lex want to cut him down to size, and all he wants to do is the right thing.
>Go back to Reddit
Why say that? Why mitigate my entire argument to a statement that I came from a website I've never been to and decided to troll people into talking about something that I, under this circumstance, gave no shits about?
Does this mean that my statement to you upsets you so much that you have the impression that I am battling you out of spite? That the only way someone could disagree with you is if they are doing it to get under your skin?
I present to you that this judgement is false and I'm someone who genuinely cares about how their time is spent and if I am to spend it defending a character or characters I enjoy from a trailer that I thought was lacklustre than that would be my goal. Because when something doesn't sit right with me I'm not going to sit on my hands and accept it whole-heartedly, there were bits I enjoyed about this trailer but clearly even my microscopic gripe with it must be taken under a microscope and dissect simply because it doesn't agree with the mass viewing. This is how foolish that sounds.
I challenge you to hold this thought process as the film goes draws closer and on the very likely chance that we get more and more of Superman's perspective that you remember that at some point you said that this entire film was going to be about Superman through other character's eyes rather than even a modicum being devoted to the Man of Steel himself as we see things from his perspective.
>you can't like Batman and Superman
>you must accept the story that is being told regardless if you reckon that it could executed better
Why do people think that what is presented to us is the epitome of effort when it comes to films? I mean comics have been going on for over a century with hundreds of different writers and you mean to tell me that either we like this directed film or we hate one character or another?
Come on son
I cant narrow it down why but i love the voice. At first it sounds like it shouldnt work but then it fucking does (for the trailer at least)
I also like the juxtaposition or subversion or whatever of showing a bunch of Batman scenes despite thr main focus clearly being Superman. Its all thematic and shit
>people are allowed to post intentionally negative replies in order to invoke a reaction out of others
>making everything a personal problem
> at some point you said that this entire film was going to be about Superman through other character's eyes rather than even a modicum being devoted to the Man of Steel himself as we see things from his perspective.
No you goddamn retard we're saying that the premise of this film is based on the perspective of other people's reactions to Superman. We're not saying that we're never going to see Superman's side of the story. I know that's what you'd like to think we're saying, as you're an egotistical moron who likes to always pretend that he's right, but it isn't.
and I see, it's tumblr then
Every A-List character has a history of being "dark and gritty as fuck." When Blackest Night happened, zombies were ripping people's hearts out and eating them just like they were in the other comics. Casuals have no idea how shared universes work.
I challenge you to actually read the words people write. The entire film will deal with Superman from an outside perspective. That is the main theme of the whole movie. That doesn't mean Superman won't also opine or give his own perspective, but how the world reacts to him is clearly the main thrust and will be developed over the entire runtime.
Christ, why the fuck am I even still responding to you? You're either intentionally obtuse or just really fucking stupid.
>Well that's almost entirely special effects, so I guess he doesn't really get credit.
>this is what /co/ actually believes
/tv/ is more knowledgeable about movies than you people, and that's saying something
So now I'm interested, because Superman being looked at harshly from the lens of the public eye even though he does his best is fascinating, but I still don't have high hopes because of Snyder. I've never seen him take a scene where people are simply talking to each other and really make it sing. Maybe this will different since Batman probably got in his way occasionally to direct a scene.
>That spaceship is Russian. But my question is what is going on with that aircraft in the trailer? Is it Batman's? If so why is it targeting humans?
Rumor is that Callum Mulvey is playing KGBeast, could have something to do with him.
Fuck this shit :D I'm out of here until this hype settles down. Stupid retards everywhere.
reminder that johns made that canon
THEY HAVE ALREADY SHOWN THE CAR
Without LED eyes, batman is basically invisible in dark/low lighting, neccessary, especially for the trailers. Also, it matches with the heat vision eyes in the same scene from the comiccon footage.
>mfw I hated MoS
>mfw this looks just as bad if not worse
>mfw Age of Ultron is going to be garbage regardless
Mo-cap and animation is the vast majority of the fighting in MoS.
There are maybe a dozen punches that we actually filmed, but the fight goes on for 40 minutes.
Same with 300, Suckerpunch, etc.
you can actually see the yellow on the superman shield now though, which is a massive step up from man of steel
>larry fong cinematographer
this movie is going to have an abundance of colors, but all of them will be blue
>The premise of this movie is already more interesting than anything in recent capeshit memory.
This is actually true now that I think about it. I didn't know how much I wanted a movie about the religious reverence a superhero would have. Especially someone like Superman, who's just genuinely here to help.
No, that would be me saying that my opinion is fact. You are basing your viewing of a trailer as definitive proof as how this film will go down. I never presented my opinion as fact. Someone jumped down my throat for voice my opinion.
The problem is with people believing that an opinion that doesn't agree with theirs must be conformed to the majority of what everyone else sees. But I'm sure in your unrelenting hate of all things opinionated you failed to realise that I never tried to say that anything I said is the end all be all.
People NEED others to agree with them and that's wherein this issue began. Because I disagreed. But no, this is about me being right about my opinion and trying to convert people to my train of thought. God forbid people speak freely on 4chan. Let's all hold hands and agree.
You're the exact sort of person you pretend shouldn't be on here.
Why does WB hate its superheroes so much? They are trying to turn them all into Batman.
>You are basing your viewing of a trailer as definitive proof as how this film will go down.
It's the best that we have right now. Occam's razor says we go with what has the most proof and the trailer is what we have to go by.
>waaahhhh nobody agrees with me ;_;
Actually go back to tumblr
Why are you still here
Wow i think Snyder is going full auteur on this one, he better be careful cause if the script is not great then he'll get the same "all visuals no substance" thing from always..
I wish Ebert was alive to see this, i bet he'd praise it, if only the effort to make different capeshit.
My intent isn't for anyone to agree with me. This is the person complaining about reading comprehension lol.
Man of Steel's third trailer was different in tone to the first one. The very first one was a super grim trailer with Howard Shore music playing in the background, and it was more or less the tone that I got from the movie.
I am very excited for this.
I am also very excited for Age of Ultron.
I have faith that both movies will be great.
A bit of column A and column B. I doubt they had the destruction hit Luthor's stuff as an accident, but using irl backlash to inform the movie seems like it might be a good idea, since the movie seems to be a lot about how people see Superman and how they think he should act.
it's amazing to me you idiots still think the outcry is going to be about the damage...
WHAT DAMAGE?!? The tiny, insiginifcant amount of damage that occurred during the zod fight? Superman getting thrown through a few skyscrapers?
The entire city had already been fucked up by the gravity machine, superman getting thrown around and not taking zod out of the city means nothing and it WILL NOT be adressed
Instead the outrage is going to be more like
>fuck this alien for leading other aliens here
>massive fear over a guy who's that powerful being allowed to roam around unchecked
Yet you guys really think it's because he didn't take zod out of the city in the final fight? Jesus...
Synder disagrees with you, and he is making the fucking movie.
It isn't an adaptation, that's not what my point is,
the fight and it's circumstances are being lifted.
Only the roles seemingly are reversed.
>the fight and it's circumstances are being lifted.
TDKR isn't the only time they've fought each other. Also, Batman fucking dies during their fight in TDKR, he gives himself a heart attack because he knows he can't win. They form the Justice League at the end of this movie, the circumstances aren't even remotely related.
>I know what Supes would do but what about Bats?
Batman only concerns himself with murderers and other criminals. Not suicidal people. Maybe if the suicidal person had a bomb strapped to their chest, Batman might intervene.
man of steel superman would rush to his rescue in a straight line going through a couple of buildings a bus and a horse
batman would just let them jump and catch them with his grappling hook and leave them there to get arrested for attempted suicide
Both give them heart to heart talks to try to convince them not to do it
Superman then checks up on the guy every day, but Batman ships him off to a mental hospital.
And he checks up on the guy every night
>Fuck Marvel, all their movies are just happy shit full of comedic dialogue and optimistic heroes
>Fuck DC, all their movies are just depressing shit full of angsty dialogue and cynical anti-heroes
>tfw hype as fuck for every single movie on this >>71317539 except WW and Thor 3
Fuck you /co/,
everything is awesome
The idea that Batman is a ruthless prick is just as tired and uninformed as the notion that Superman is "boring because he's overpowered and that's stupid".
Bruce can be just as compassionate as Clark, he's just not a "sunny" person. Batman's a good dude, anon. He'd save your jumper, then relate to him on feelings of hopelessness/loss/etc, and that man would reconsider everything, having been saved by a man who turned his own anguish into a means of helping others.
Batman in this seems to be very much the same as the DKR Bats, only somewhat younger, the difference is that Superman is the one that is mistrusted by the public, so Batman is sent to fight him (likely coerced by Luthor to fight him, which will lead to them teaming up to fight him.)
There are a lot of paralells in the stories.
It is a loose adaptation.
>arrested for attempted suicide
Sorry, that's what I was trying to communicate, posts are getting mixed up.
Bruce and Luthor probably know each other/work together to reconstruct Metroplis, and Luthor will convince him that something needs to be done about Supes, much the same way that Supes is taking care of Batman for the government in DKR.
True that. It's like he was born for the role.
i think the opposite there was lots of times where his English seeped through that and looking like gaston he has that foreign vibe that's hard to get rid of unlike other actors
i think i only recognized bales a couple of times in the Nolan trilogy
Man that trailer generated almost zero hype for me. Batman v Superman and the most interesting thing about it is Luthor's 2 lines of dialogue. It just looks so depressing and bleak in the most uninteresting way possible.
I genuinely enjoyed MoS, that movie had a mythical quality to it. This just looks like a bad music video.
So people will worship JL and thats what will lead luthor to formed his injustice team
I can see the conflicts already
>aquama and WW see themselves as new gods because humans inferior to them
>supes, bat, flash, cyborg tried to change humanity perception about them
>luthor tried to destroy them since they're false gods
Why do people think that a dark palette with a gritty tone can't go hand in hand with an optimistic hero?
Has no one seen The Crow? What a shame...
I agree with everything you said (except the MoS stuff.)
This trailer didn't do anything for me, except make me want the HQ one so I can see Batman better.
He was the only interesting thing in this trailer.
This feels pretty spot-on to me.
and here comes the twitter storm
i wonder if cameron stewart has posted yet
and no it's not near spot on. bvs isn't a justice league movie, it's an analysis of superman from the lens of the masses in the DCU. it's a smart decision to take.
lady i don't think we were watching the same trailer
I love The Crow but I'm not looking for that in a BvS movie.
You want to make a serious business World's Finest movie? Go right ahead. But this teaser generates nothing for me, it makes the film look like 2+ hours of boring, dark, depressing conversation and angst punctuated by fights.
MoS had issues, but even that movie's trailer had a sense of hope to it and an actual fucking color palette. This had neither, just RAGEEEE.
>Superdark and gritty mood
>Superman is a menace, corruption and absolute power
>We must fear him
>Superman does nothing wrong in the trailer
>Trailer shows Superman helping, and being praised
>Superman uncomfortable for the praise
>mfw realize trailer isn't about durkngrutty Superman
>is about audience's perception about him being durkngrutty.
And people bash Snyder...
What? The colors here are much brighter than Man of Steel. You can actually see the yellow on Superman's chest. To me, it looks like an interesting mystery movie about the world's reaction to a godlike figure appearing.
His art direction is fucking awful for a supes movie. He should have just rebooted bats in the first place. Or do Question maybe. Just anything that actually fits his aesthetic thematically.
Nolan isn't fucking stupid. MoS was no masterpiece, but it very clearly laid the groundwork for building the Supes we love in a meaningful way. Snyder just gave us some stylized palettes.
I hate your opinion, and I don't even know what gender you are.
What are you on about?
>MoS had issues, but even that movie's trailer had a sense of hope to it and an actual fucking color palette. This had neither, just RAGEEEE.
This is a different movie. Man of Steel was about Superman, the embodiment of hope. This movie is about the world's reaction to the existence of a Superman, and not only that, but it includes Batman who is, like it or not, a vengeful character who in many ways embodies rage. His whole reason for being is an act of outrage. This movie is naturally accommodating those themes.
tl;dr chill the fuck out, the movie isn't even out yet
This is literally what Snyder has been saying since before Man of Steel's release, in prerelease interviews he was saying that "his" Superman is the one who's righteous without being congratulated
This is the most interesting Superman story in years. It's a commentary on how the general public views Superman as a character. Everyone hates him because he's an all powerful God who tries to do good, while everyone loves the Batgod.
Fucking Synder and Terrio blowing niggas the fuck out.
>>I liked the first movie
>>I was never a fan of Superman
>>I like the idea o him being a dubious demigood
No one is denying that Man of Steel was made to appeal to people that didn't like Superman beforehand.
That's my problem.
His panels all look like paintings, they don't convey motion or life or action at all (in my opinion, because, once again, art.)
Those are fundamentals to comic illustration.
This is a retarded post. LotR or Star Wars were built around incomplete characters that fit together. Comic book heroes are completely independent characters that come together to form a greater unit. Do not confuse the two.
Was it ever not?
>This is a different movie. Man of Steel was about Superman, the embodiment of hope.
Not only did it not deliver on that, but it left the fulfillment of that promise for this movie.
for you it will!
Nothing about this trailer indicates this. It's a bunch of "SUPERMAN IS A MENACE!" clips.
I'm not saying the movie is going to be shit, all I'm saying is for a movie that has Batman and Superman in it this trailer generated zero hype.
I would love nothing more then to walk in opening day and come out loving this movie. As I said erlier, I still really enjoy Man of Steel despite its flaws. But as presented, nothing bout the trailer or the months of troubled production history have generated any goodwill towards this film.
Maybe the full trailer will change this. There's an interesting concept here at least.
I don't think people would even tolerate another slow burning superhero franchise that takes years of solo movie build ups for a team up movie to happen. I think what WB is doing is the smart move. Team up movies interspersed with solo movies
I would agree with her last statement if we weren't talking about the two most recognizable comic book characters in history. Batman and Superman's popularity and cultural familiarity have never been an issue.
Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, etc all had to be reintroduced to the public in order for Marvel to build to the Avengers movies. Batman and Superman have been around and so prevalent that they've become archetypes for comic superheroes.
You don't need to explain characters in a solo movie to people who already know about the characters. It's just tedious and has gotten way old. Even Marvel isn't doing origin stories anymore.
Posted this rant on /tv/, I'm a huge comic book fan some I thought I'd bring it over here. There are a ton of shills out for this right now that are pretending based on brand loyalty and I'm tired of all this company wars shit. What exactly makes this "adult" or "mature", people are treating it like those words mean the same thing as what they do on a video game box. I'd be happy to watch a legitimately good DC movie but there hasn't been one I've truly liked since Batman Begins, Dark Knight was good but really overrated. Marvel has had several movies that I've enjoyed, some that are much deeper and more interesting than the recent DC stuff, they've also had some crap come out. People need to stop thinking that dark equals grown up or intelligent, its like little kids sneaking into an R rated movie because they think its grown up. There are some childish as fuck R rated movies and some really beautiful and intelligent G rated movies. It doesn't matter, form shouldn't dictate value. I'd love more intelligent discussion of superhero films, not simply disregarding them because of genre or brand loyalty. Marvel fans should want good DC movies and vice versa, competition gives you better products.
>all these cool looking trailer-made shots
>they will be poorly strung together in the actual film
>it's MoS all over again
Vash keeps insisting this but when he tries to explain himself he only reveals he doesn't know how films work.
Just ignore him, and all the other tripfags too while you're at it. Unless they're storytimers.
>Nothing about this trailer indicates this. It's a bunch of "SUPERMAN IS A MENACE!" clips.
What's "your" Superman exactly? Because the "Superman is a menace" thing has been done A LOT, particularly in stuff like Birthright or Morrison's Action Comics in which the focus is on the beginning of his career. And in the DCAU and everything else it always remains present among people like Amanda Waller, Cadmus, Sam Lane, and the U.S. government.
>I would agree with her last statement if we weren't talking about the two most recognizable comic book characters in history. Batman and Superman's popularity and cultural familiarity have never been an issue.
You're both right. Man of Steel had a problem in that it depended on foreknowledge of Superman and tried to subvert the standards by making him kind of a fuckup. You can argue they had good reasons for doing this, but that's what they did, and in doing so, unintentionally started deconstructing the character.
To go from that, to this, is just more of the same. It's not as much of a tonal shift as it should be. Marvel phase one went from fairly light to darker. This goes from kind of dark to even darker. The contrast isn't as strong as it should be, especially given that the biggest appeal of Batman and Superman sharing a space is that they have such great thematic contrast to begin with.
But whatever. I'm just a marveldrone.
The only one with any significant screentime is Wonder Woman even that's small. Aquaman and Cyborg are literally cameos. I think they just wanted Wilkinson to do all the costumes so they cast everyone early.
>multiple script revisions
>screenwriter publicly ousted
>multiple characters continuously jammed into the movie like Wondy, Aquaman, etc.
The whole things smells like a big, fat disaster. It's the same shit that happened on Thor 2's set and we all saw how that turned out.
"Muh" Supes is the DCAU version, which had its fair share of those storylines. I mean fuck look at how STAS ended.
But they didn't do it in his second appearance in something.
The same reason it's cool/popular to hate Marvel.
>LEL QUIPS ARE BAD SASUGA WHEDON
>LEL GRIM IS BAD SASUGA SNYDER
I wish people would shut the fuck up and realize that this is the best time to be a comic fan in history. Shit is cash.
Except Thor 3. No one wants that.
>mfw this will be the movie to finally prove pa kent right
ugh i hate heavy handed shit like that in cape movies. it isnt natural sounding.
ugh also i hate realistic takes on costumes in cape movies. they dont have to be natural looking, its a comic.
The fucking teaser already shows people idolizing superman as well as people decrying him...are people that use twatter always stupid?
That said...Avengers really didn't built into AoU like Episode 4 did for Episode 5...like at all.
This whole thing looks very majestic or fantastical, kind of like Ross' art.
I dont know if it's because of Larry Fong or because Snyder finally dropped the handheld camera but it definitely makes for a better looking movie.
Imagining a JL movie in the same style feels surreal.
No. I meant precisely what I said.
I hate your opinion, it is shit. Your gender is irrelevant to this conversation. Its a shit opinion, and that's all that matters.
If somebody gets hated on its because their opinion is shit, not because its coming from a female.
>Serious question, why is it cool/popular to hate DC?
People don't have DC on principle, they hate Man of Steel because it was fucking trash.
Pic related, a DC thing that people love because it's good.
