So what you will about the show and shipping overall, but typically if you want a show based on a comic to last you wanna stay in tune with what pairing the comic was pushing.

Although it certainly had its moments, it perhaps was unable to find a nice balance between serious, heartfelt moments and comedy. Also, the comedy was mostly the same gags over and over again, or simply slapstick with anime-face aftermaths. There were times where things got pretty interesting, but the fact that you pretty much knew everything would be back to normal even after all of the conflict and unique moments between the characters was sort of... unpleasant.

I say this because I've realized that I can bear watching TTGo, yet I can't bear trying to go back and watch TT, which is probably due to those reasons. Also, TTGo is honestly a bit more experimental and unpredictable, whereas sadly, although TT possessed interesting characters, I feel like in the environment it takes place in, it never took full advantage of all of the characters' quirks and the environments it created. Also, TT episodes seemed to drag simple ideas on for a long time. Essentially, TT had a bit of filler in each episode because of how much time it had to take up.

TTGo obviously isn't perfect, but I believe it's improvement. TT was a good show, but it had glaring flaws.
