According to an old DC calendar, today it's Hal Jordan's birthday.
Let's celebrate with a thread dedicated to him. Post your favorite Hal art/panels/pages/whatever.
So what's Hal planning to do with the gauntlet? What is he gonna do after he's out of the Corps?
agreed, he was fantastic in New Frontier
man, good question
I know DC's new thing is going to be story > continuity but him being in JL and JLA for a while makes me wonder if he's actually leaving the corps
I assume it was only going to be temporary anyway but maybe it'll be shorter than I thought
Arcane Hal is based
>Feb 18 - Birthday of Eobard Thawne
>Feb 19 - Birthday of Bruce Wayne
>Feb 20 - Birthday of Hal Jordan
You'd think /co/ would probably care for some other birthdays too.
Not that Hal doesn't deserve a celebratory thread.
Implying Geoff isn't at a birthday party for Hal right now.
That's shoop but damn I want to see a Brave and the Bold (Hal and Barry) written by Geoff Johns and pencilled by Kenneth Rocafort.
>he's pulling the cape aside just to show off his ass
I kept hoping Atomic Hal would show up as well.
I did too, I love his design
I'm so happy to see him in JL again
Wondy went from a 0/10 to a 10/10 in the last few issues, hopefully Hal didn't show up just to be a punching bag again
Between Atomic Hal and Power Ring, I might have developed some Hal-without-one-arm fetish .
Halle's alright too I guess
Holy shit, I will never stop shipping Hal with Carol Danvers.
I love this for some reason. But I draw a lot. I have a feeling that making something drawn well with your ring would be very difficult without art training. Unless the powers of the ring is literally whatever you imagine.
It looks like everyone is leering at the couple like a bunch of creepy ghosts
Who's getting married in that pic anyway? I thought it was Ralph and Sue at first but they're in the audience
Well, this happened just one issue earlier so it's probably still fresh in Barry's memory. Stuff like this tends to bring people together.
The more and more I see from silver and bronze age Green Lantern stories the more questions it raises. Who was writing green lantern at the time and decided to make it go in such a weird direction? Mainly talking about the Homeless Hal stuff
If memory serves me right, the first time Hal used his ring to create the uniform was in one of O'Neil's stories when GL was a back up feature in Flash. Other writers also used it after that, but it was not consistent when was he wearing a construct and when a real uniform.
In this case though it is irrelevant since he is in control of the ring anyway.
And not just any uniform.
For a long time the uniform was actual clothes that he'd put on/take off with the ring and his mask was a construct
This still varied from writer to writer and story to story of course because GL has pretty much never been consistent
I also recall a page where Hal is recounting his origin and he mentions that he stripped the uniform off Abin Sur's body and put it on himself, wtf
He looks so pleased
So he just stripped this dead guy, put on his outfit, buried him under a mountain and then left him there for years? No wonder Abin came back to haunt him later
I read that as "some small fart" because I am a child.
What if this was customary for all Lanterns? Like, imagine Bzzt or B'Dg dying and then some Kilowog-looking motherfucker inherits their costume. Those would have to be the unstablest of molecules to make that work.
>write some Hal/Sinestro requests from the gay threads
Yes plz. This would make my Haliday, kind sir.
Some actual Rocafort Hal for you.
No, they just didn't draw the insignia.
I have this one, but it's the only that exists apart from that other GL concept.
He drew some promo art for the movie.
What's your favorite Hal pairings anons? Canon/noncanon, platonic or otherwise?
Sinestro, Carol, Barry. What can I say, I'm a Johns fan.
Also I like Tom as his best bro.
He was in two panels sometime during the Third Army storyline.
I love space adventures, but I miss Hal's supporting cast. When's the last time he even talked to his brother, you know?
>hal will never offer you delicious ice cream
Life is pain.
Incidentally, CD Hal is my fetish.
>When's the last time he even talked to his brother, you know?
in #34, Kilowog was a real bro and brought his brother & family to Mogo
but yeah I get what you mean, Hal's been kind of isolated for a while
that was the 19th
and the 18th was professor zoom!
I'm not usually into cd but I make a lot of exceptions when it comes to Hal
There's still in a hole in my heart left by GLTAS, but at least it got a decent ending, unlike the end of YJ. Wasn't a fan of YJ and I take some pleasure in how much worse it was to be a fan of that show versus GLTAS when both ended.
True, more GLTAS would have been great but at least it wasn't the unexpected wtf that YJ got
I watched YJ but I wasn't super invested in it, I felt kinda bad for the people who were
>itty transformed into a giant cosmic human thing and banged another giant cosmic human
I never understood that shit.
Yeah, I don't really know what the deal with Itty turning into a giant purple cosmic guy and then spawning a bajillion offspring was
I guess some people just couldn't understand the simple joy of Hal having a little wiggly starfish alien as a buddy
I think the story was a flashback during Mosaic or something. I guess they wanted to say what happened to Itty but it just felt really weird.
it was kind of unnecessary, I guess they wanted to wrap up what happened to him since he just kind of vanished 10+ years earlier but eh
Hal taking cowboy stuff seriously is adorable
Cracks me up every time.
he's tiny and adorable, and Giffen & DeMatteis both know how to write a good Hal
plus since it's a team book they have to cut the chaff and get to the good stuff, so pretty much every scene with everybody is good
The time Hal outsmarted Lex Luthor.
Exactly why can't Parallax give Godly powers again? Even ION seems petty.
He didn't HAVE a ring, so no I don't think so
his powers were internal
although there was that one annual where he stole everybody else's batteries although I don't remember what that was for
