Is that guy in the image meant to be the most unique and stylised character designed to please SJWs? He's non-white, he's effeminate, he has heterchromia, he has a weird hairstyle and is non-threatening.
Is he the prototype nu-boi?
Jesus Christ I didn't think they could make it any more bland. It's actually so bland its kind of an achievement.
Why is Bee even more chubby than usual?
I mean this isn't even curvy this is just straight up chubby. I can't imagine a fat girl being able to do athletic style shit like running and fighting monsters, too unrealistic.
what did she get hit by Professor Monkey-For-A-Head's Fatomic Ray Gun?
>awkward loner hipsters acting like awkward loner hipsters the show
>oh it so happens to have a space prince cat demon guy thing that's a cat now for some odd whatever reason or somethings hhahahaahah thanks X3
This is gonna be a cringy show with the humor. Don't like any of the characters, the designs are terrible. WHY IS SHE SOOO FAAAAT?!
She's not pretty or even cute she's just awkward hipster girl fat but she is like okay.
Also what is that guy's race? Generic brown race guy just to be politically correct?
It's looking more and more like an anime imitation. I'm surprised they didn't decide to animate everything in 8 FPS and use super-thin Photoshop Threshold-filtered pencil lines instead of the heavy inked outlines they're using.
You would think she would come up with her own style then just blatant Steven Universe/Adeventure Time?
I swear if you were introduce anyone to any one of these shows no one would know if the show was Puppycat or Steven Universe they all share that same distinct look.
>Someone's making something DIFFERENT?! UGH!
Because the people that most donated to the show were tumblr crowd type people, that made mention that her design should be revamped because she was too skinny in the original version.
a.k.a We gotta pander to the tumblr whale crowd. If you don't think she's beautiful you're a bigoted sexist cis pig.
>Nigger love interest (YESS race mix more goy)
We Deviantart now?
Except with that one, it just got downgraded in amount of textures or shapes. The flow and the feel of the show was in place, the camera angles, the fighting, the social dynamics. This has all the exciting interesting camera shots taken out and everyone's flat and level, it doesn't have that sort of expression.
It warrants hate when the original design was much better then the newer one.
If people liked the original plot because of the characters and all, why change it? Why force people to accept a new style that no one likes and is universally hated?
It's like they cut off her abdomen area just to make her shorter, but it just makes it all look unnatural and fat.
I didn't have a problem when they made Fiona a little chubbier but this is just too much.
Hell, the kickstarter concept art looks better and they already had different character designs
fionna got curvier and hot, and somewhat more realistic
Bee just looks fat because her torso is short, her legs got thicker, her feet biger and her face is smaller compared to the rest of her face, all while not covering her cheeks with hair like they used to.
Have the creators bothered answering this? Has anyone even bothered asking? I'm sure there's a logical, or at the very least, reasonable basis for the change. You know, other than artistic freedom.
>Now that John K, he looks like he can win in a lot of fights.
nah hes a manlet. just hold him back at arms length and he'll flail and curse at you until he tires himself out.
That makes me sad. Creators being so scared to offend a very vocal minority that they change their creative vision to appeal to them. I guess if they didn't they wouldn't have gotten the funding, though.
They don't care. They got the money, are in full swing, and like any internet denizen they are gonna ignore "the trolls" and listen to only the positive fanfare and the yes men fans.
It's too late and anyone that says otherwise is gonna have people yelling at us "you're so sexist to say she's a bad looking character!"
Why is every brown person in cartoons called black?
We got hispanics, indians, native americans etc that are fucking brown too. Fuck. As a non-black brown person that gets me mad.
>undercuts and mohawks
I'm tired of seeing this
holy shit those members of the "cast", creepy betas, sonic autists, and legbeards and pakis. more grease in their hair than the cookers at my local chicken frier stop. these are the exact sort of people you imagine when you think of liberal arts major faggots gathering around some area on the campus strumming ukelele songs.
Which speaking of, I saw a random episode of Steven Universe for the first time.
That art style is so ugly.....It's so...politically correct it hurts, and it's obvious that it's AT's shadow clone cartoon that I just can't enjoy it. The story makes no sense, I've been told by people that it's one of those plots you gotta watch a few episodes to understand but I can't sacrifice the time to do so.
Why can't people see there is nothing unique about the show? And the last good show CN had was Original AT, Early Regular Show, and Symbiotic Titan?
BUT NOOOOPE, GOTTA HAVE THAT HIPSTER TUBE GIRL PANDERING.
>That art style is so ugly.....It's so...politically correct it hurts
Wow, you are stupid. Stop posting, you got no argument here, you are just an idiot.
Because most liberals that make cartoons in america only think of anything brown as black.
Captain Planet should be a good example of what happens when any american show tries to be multicultural..
And the only show that got multicultural down right was Recess. Recess was a brilliant show too bad a lot of modern cartoons don't borrow it's ideals that a good race in a show is one seen and not explained.
He should be a good character in his own right, not pandered. If you write a good character people will see skin color second and personality first.
With the Main Guy for puppycat? I don't see a character I see an obvious as fuck pandering stereotype brown guy.
Who was only created because white liberal girl creator thinks she's progressive when she's no better then a modern day black face.
I was about to post something like this, but you did a better job at writing it than I would've.
But yeah, it's no wonder this show looks like Tumblr. I guarantee everybody involved with this shit frequents the site.
>With the Main Guy for puppycat? I don't see a character I see an obvious as fuck pandering stereotype brown guy.
You haven't seen anything about him, what the fuck are you even talking about?
>It's so...politically correct it hurts
You're allowed to hate the art style, but at least try to make some fucking sense with your arguments.
>used to love undercuts and mohawks on girls
>that awful subconscious association with SJWs and tumblr
I just want to fap without imagining her talking about her awful gender discussions and how we're all beautiful and we should all love each other
>no mention of the diggers
>no mention of grotkey
>of any of the other kids like the nerds or anything
Dude there was tons of ethnic groups in that show, even the Ashleys had a black and mexican girl in the group.
But those characters were memorable because they had personalities so you most likely don't remember their skin color because their personalities stuck out more to you.
That's what I am trying to get at with people, A good character is personality first and skin color second and that's how it should be. I hate when shows do the obvious "This guy is generic brown man from foreign brown land and he's exotic but not too exotic to alienate the americans"
It's clear the Main Guy for the show is going with that.
Also he has two different colored eyes..
This is fucking deviant art tier shit that we make fun of on /co/ all the time.
I wish it was like that too, The Mohawk undercut is actually quite cute, but I am afraid to approach girls with that hairstyle because I think one look from them that I am this white guy is gonna set them off on some tangent about how I am the cause of all their problems.
This a picture of her.
I've heard she was doing voice acting.
No idea why these specific changes were made, but I do want to share this observation. Cartoons are very much group products, and other people will have a say, even when they shouldn't. This is an industry where a lot of people make changes for the sake of making changes. Like the child who clumsily pours too many chocolate chips into the cookie dough just so she could boast that she helped, many higher-ups seek to leave their mark this way, even when it's completely unnecessary.
Again, not saying that's the case here. But this kind of "diplomatic meddling" does happen.
Yes, a lot of people are outraged that minorities are depicted in their favorite media, and lash out at the minorities themselves instead of the authors who choose them over their bashers.
It's a bit backwards, though, to "defend" an author by attacking his writing, telling him that it's wrong to depict these people or to care about them, while acting like you're defending his "creative vision" from his own choices.
Ah well I am not even all that shocked anymore.
This is tumblr hipsters were talking about here, they donated 17,000 dollars into a burlap sack when it was demanded and made the hunger games rebel hand sign as they willingly donated to the thieves of Dashcon.
They are truly a dumb toxic sub group.
But I can. His expression is very bland, just generic as all hell and for first impressions with people that's important (which the audience for this show isn't gonna care, their socially awkward as fuck to begin with they have no grasp of what is good social skills and what's not approved of) and from how he presents himself and how he spoke, and his design. It's clear he's not that well developed and neither is the MC.
Oh well at least now I have a show I won't be watching.
The designs look...real off.
Like how middle school girls cant get real proportions correct, so try drawing anime, but fuck that up too.
>white mohawk hair
>different color eyes
its like MY OC DO NOT STEAL.
>You're allowed to hate the art style, but at least try to make some fucking sense with your arguments.
I think he meant exactly what he said. Some people are hurt by things that aren't politically incorrect enough. Ostensibly, this is because it reminds them of their oppression by minorities. In practice, what actually provokes their ire can be something as innocent as gay or bisexual characters existing, or a character being slightly chubby.
Can we... you know.... not pander to anyone?
As in, create a cartoon and not worry about stepping on someone's toes?
>This is tumblr hipsters were talking about here
I wasn't really talking about the donators affecting the design. That would just be simple pandering. Rather, I'm referring to the need of some within the studio to constantly justify their positions through meddling and tweaking. It's just very rare, at least in the west, for the final cartoon to be the completely unfiltered vision of the creator.
Actually I was more saying, I dislike when bad writing is happening.
I have no problem with minorities, I have no issue with SJW or anything.
What I do hate though is when one of those people makes a cartoon, and writes it in a way that's just clear pandering. That write it in a way that's it's making one side look terrible and worse then hitler.
>Who was only created because white liberal girl creator thinks she's progressive when she's no better then a modern day black face.
Oh, I don't have that problem because I'm a negro. But yeah, every time I go for a short haired cutie they're some kind of social justice something and it's just not worth it any more.
That sounds reasonable, but there are a lot of people who are oversensitive about "pandering" even when it doesn't compromise quality. Some people complain about racially diverse characters even if they're well-written.
I'm not saying it has to pander to me, no, I just want a well written show and Puffycat clearly isn't a well written show from the get go.
Show can be a gay protestor sucking dicks for a living having social commentary why him taking clown dick up the ass is a metaphor for the government, but hell if it was written very well then holy shit I'll watch it in all it's glory if it's good.
Puffycat doesn't look good, act good, feel good, overall not good. And it's gonna be praised because morons don't know any good written shows unless it's hand fed to them.
>YOU HAD ONE JOB, /co/.
To raid the show and its fans until it stopped existing? Starting a war over offensive art is kind of counterproductive to the whole "stop the social justice oppression" thing, isn't it?
FX tried to make a well written show featuring a gay protagonist. No one watched it.
That sounds reasonable on its own, but it's unhelpful to complain about how there's too much diversity if that's not your issue with it. It's better to be specific about why you don't like it.
>create a cartoon and not worry about stepping on someone's toes?
No, because too much money is required to make a cartoon show. Commercialism is often the death of artistic integrity, because when you need to play with other people's money, you need to follow their rules.
If you want cartoons that are honest and unafraid, then you need cheap cartoons. Anime is cheap, but in all the right ways. They're cheap enough that studios can form committees and self-finance their productions, and then buy time slots from any TV station with the air time to sell. They'll still produce mostly pandering garbage, but they also produce truly authentic works often enough to make it all worthwhile.
Here, it's too expensive to make an independent cartoon, and the major networks owned by 3 or 4 media empires still call the shots in the end. If they don't want to fund you and air your show, there's not much you can do.
oh god, /co/ doesn't like something, it must be pandering to tumblrites! Jesus, you guys are seeing SJWs in every fucking shadow. Every other thread brings this shit up. Guess what? you guys not liking it has nothing to to with it pandering to SJW Tumblrs, it's because they are not pandering to you. See that shit? Reading all these bitchy butt hurt posts about how the world doesn't conform to your standards is just as bad as any Tumblr circle jerk. /co/ has become what it hates.
Symbiotic Titan felt so fresh as a show when it first came on CN, finally a serious show about a galactic war that falls to earth with serious characters and tone. A show that was gonna be this grand adventure.
Cancelled...Cancelled after one season because it didn't do well enough. All because people wanted more AT, more the same ol thing of episodes that mean nothing, were mostly nothing, but people grasping at straws at some substance as a compensation.
Not to say AT is a bad show, but when it spawns three new shows, that look the same, feel the same, literally have the same style to them?
Come the fuck on. I would say Gum Ball is a million times better show because at least that show knows what it's going for, it doesn't pander to anyone or anything and has way more memorable characters then Steven Universe or AT.
Take Gravity Falls too?
What a fantastic set up of lore and characters. Every episode feels fresh and inviting and the cast of characters is just welcomed with each second they are on screen. Meanwhile with AT I feel like I'm watching a show made for socially akward hipsters, that panders to that demographic, It's writing is just "how many meme jokes can we spew?" Every line feels like it's selling me a t shirt slogan. And it's just try hard many times in it's writing......
While Gravity Falls and Symbiotic Titan had plots and depth, AT and Steven Universe panders to ADD flashy scenes and flashy characters with no depth.
I can't count how many times AT missed an oppourtunity to be something.
That whole mis take on how to deal with the Ice King finally gaining back his sanity, that whole missed oppourtunity to show Jake as a dad, Finn and his GF issues, holy fucking shit Finn you retarded piece of shit at like a human being for once..I could really go on with the flaws..
Finn doesn't act at all normal and that is the thing, those type of shows are for people that are not normal and are socially awkward.
I feel so freaking cheated like I don't no about this new design the old one looked so detailed and nice now this one looks really kawaii or something it looks childish and fluffy is what I want to say I guess. Oh well I'm still gonna watch it.
You ever seen that episode of "Drawn Together" where Wooldoor Sockbat makes a cartoon that is so politically correct that all the kids who watched it turned gay?
Well it's real now.
>Wanting to see porn of this
>Meanwhile with AT I feel like I'm watching a show made for socially akward hipsters, that panders to that demographic, It's writing is just "how many meme jokes can we spew?" Every line feels like it's selling me a t shirt slogan. And it's just try hard many times in it's writing......
well said, this is pretty much why i cant stand that show or its little gaggle of fans here.
the whole thing was just gaymer-tier "humor" shoved in your face. it is the exact type of show that should be hated, detested, and avoided, yet they inserted a few cute girl designs and thus won the internet audience, erin insurance style.
That new style is awful. And I even enjoyed the original. Her dress is terrible too.
"It was totally a real show, you just dont remember it!"
>that wooden and low key voice acting
>those non jokes
>that complete lack of soul
>that awful artstyle
good god, they made a fucking nick jr show while trying to market it to young teens.
Remember when Daffy, Supes, Bugs, Donald, and Mickey fought japs and nazis? then would also smoke cigars and drink booze?
Looks more like a fenn and ferb thing
Iv never played it but I heard about it being good, was it a good game /co/?
marketing and pandering are two different things.
pander means pleasing them while sacrificing artistic merit
marketing means simply providing that demographic a show that would most likely appeal to them.
Example: adventure time is a show that woould most likely be enjoyed by people between ages 12-25
Southpark is a show most likely to appeal to the ages of 18-40
However Johnny test was pandering to kids below the age of 12
and uncle grandpa panders to young kids attracted by random bullshit humor
pandering is essentially kissing ass and insulting intelligence, marketing is just the wise business move of finding an audience.
I think his point is:
"Hey remember when people did things without worry about who they'd offend?"
I don't though personally. I grew up watching politically correct programming in the 90s.
Then do personal shit and free lance.
Every once in awhile you sell your soul to Machinma to make something stupid then proceed to make quality animations on your channel funded via patrion.
What you didn't notice when she reenacted a fight scene from Utena with here hologram?
Simpler designs = easier/cheaper to produce.
That's it, that's literally it, people. They didn't focus test this shit with specific fucking.. social media websites to see what's more popular with landwhales or neckbeards or what the fuck ever you people are blaming this shit on.
For abit then people got over it when they saw it in motion. The difference here is we have seen it in motion and we still don't like it.
Toonboom is miles better than flash.
Like flash isn't as bad as /co/ makes it out to be (or really for the same reasons) however Toon Boom actually has a sense of flow and the vector lines actually draw correctly.
No they really did but it was for a short joke about tea cups so I think you can understand why they wouldn't blow a large amount of budget on it.
Yeah that's true, it's just weird that Pearl is noticeable yet Amethyst seems perfectly fine, I guess it's because there's more going on in her animation because she's talking.
Either way SU usually has some pretty decent animation normally, and their art direction isn't exactly that far off from anything else like Billy and Mandy or Courage when it comes to overall detail.
I fucking knew it! I knew for a goddamn fact that this new generation of cartoons was made by hipsters! Only thing I didn't expect is how cringe worthy they are. Maybe /co/ is right, maybe these are Tumblr cartoons.
You're really right about AT but Steven Universe seems to be fresh too, they had a story and a plan from the beginning and it's probably just the art that might seem off but I like it. you should watch through it.
I blame adventure time and regular show.
I've noticed a worrying upswing in content-less threadshitting in general on /co/ as of late, but to me SU feels like it has one determined motherfucker hating on it.
Or maybe it's Shitluminati again, deliberately seeding threads with negativity to cull discussion and render everything shittier and /v/-like.
Either way, it's probably just going to get continually worse and absolutely nothing is going to be done about it.
I just recently bothered going through the Pilot and it was Waaay too indie for me I liked it but it was too much, I guess they toned it for budget and they might've wanted less detail. Also is the Pilot only like 2 min long or did they just the uploaders cutting it on youtube
The original concept episodes felt pretty Miyazaki to be frank. You could tell she was emulating it.
Remember that obnoxious commercial with the voice of Finn running around in his costume, yelling at strangers? Remember how they captured almost every clip from the first episodes and made a commercial of it, playing it constantly?
Steven Universe gets a couple of nice commercials with a good soundtrack and BURN IT BURN IT TO HELL. Now it's currently not playing at all and people still hate it.
Wow, the new design is fucking disgusting.
Why does Bee look like Robert Z'dar?
>Cancelled...Cancelled after one season because it didn't do well enough. All because people wanted more AT, more the same ol thing of episodes that mean nothing, were mostly nothing, but people grasping at straws at some substance as a compensation.
no you fucking retard it was canned cause there was little toy possibility to justify its cost
gravity falls can get away with its production cost cause Disney has more money than CN, and even then it was full of hiatuses when it was on
there is no boogeyman of people who want more Adventure Time over anything else you moron
I would say more so based on the story elements. It's whimsical in a forced manner. Maybe it's because of the umbrella but I kind of imagine My neighbor totoro or kiki's delivery service
Oh no its a lot of things not just because of "dude"
>non racial brown
>different colored eyes
We have truly reached the pinnacle of character design.
But what is this thing that is wrong with animation?
Now your just sounding like an old man.
the more you talk about it the more relevance it has. good or negative you're still keeping discussion alive to ruin your "board culture" look at shows that are airing but /co/ isn't talking about they aren't affecting any "board culture" because /co/ just doesn't give a shit about them
Also I talked with ward, sugar, page, quintel, gumball dude, roiland, harmon, timm, faust and mccracken. And I decided, just to spite you, to make johnny test 100 percent sjw friendly.
If she was the future of animation, she would look more like this
My new series, Geoff the Alien has already been ordered for 5 full seasons for CN based on this concept art alone.
Its gonna get worse,
and I can't fucking wait till it happens, its gonna be glorious
Its a good start Brandon, but we updated the design a bit
Japan did the awkward female character better
Actually, Symbionic Titan got cancelled because they couldn't sell toys for it since the robot was clear and that's more expensive to produce. Not listening to CN telling them to change the robot put the creator in some shit. Also the he got into a huge fight with the CEO of CN, so the canned the show.
>She's more repugnant than awkward
So what, she's ordinary?
That isn't even necessarily a jab at women. Girl characters in cartoons are more often than not totally insufferable. See: Gwen from Ben 10, DeeDee from Dexter's Lab, Suzy from Johnny Bravo, etc.
>I'll never be in my early 20s again and have a successful art career
>I'll never work in an animation studio and have as much fun hanging out and creating stuff as the people in that video.
I may as well drive my car off a bridge and fucking kill myself right now.
>I'll never be an unwashed hipster making a bad cartoon
Feels better than turtling a shit in my butt
Edited his design to appeal to today's wacky youngsters.
I have a pet theory that the marked rise in threadshitting I mentioned earlier is a direct result of the attitudes and behavior rewarded by the implementation of Rule 15.
My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window and I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be gray, but your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad
Dear people at Cartoon Hangover,...
Though that looks really tasteless and bland as shit, this isn't what I put all my disposition on. I'm personally sick of this idea being the only one that animators listen to. There could be plenty of shows that are well-animated, but they won't supply it because it's not cost-efficient.
I just want CN or someone to make a series that looks sexily realistic and isn't Gumbified, the only show that even tried this was YJ in the recent years but since the story had some plotholes and waah animation costs sooooooo much, it got cancelled abruptly. All I've ever expected was a few cartoonish cartoons and a seldom well-drawn show or two.
Will we ever have comic book stories become mature TV shows that actually have good proportions, good animation, and a good story? I mean anything outside the Big 2, could we ever have a mature animation channel, ever, say for Image or Vertigo or more? Guess we'll never know, I'd rather watch a heterochromatic tan metrosexual bleach-blond hair hybrid cutequirky (male) with no character wearing a cat apron and slippers talk about how her/his qtmuffintop overweight snarky pudgeface girl_friend's obese pussy smells like ass.
I mean, the joke could have been this:
Guy - Man that smells like raw tuna.
Bee - *face goes red, eyes widen*
Adults get the joke, kids are like lolcatsmellsliketuna. Fuck, if only Pendleton Ward got Bravest Warriors as a cartoon, we wouldn't be in this mess.
PC, people of color, fat people
Noodle arms and geometric shape bodies
Angst, beta, spilling spaghetti
Female fanbase, any type of fandom
Only a matter of time, we just need more >brown people
>characters with "unique/special" hairstyles
>slice of life mixed in with magic, adventure and robots
>no actual continuity/progression
All this blended into one single show
is when we hit rock bottom.
Also got side tracked but whatever
>people of color, fat people
>Fat Albert was a AT clone
Thats what my show has!
Tumblr loves test, the twins are perf waifus, the cia has a black guy and they are both fat, their arms are whippcracked and they function like noodles and they use geometric shapes, the twins and bbb angst about gil/susan, its actuslly way deeper than you give credit, girls live the duke and its merchandies througj the roof!
So basically, if you dislike something,it's an AT clone? Because you lay out such insignificant benchmarks, that your claim has no strength at all. Many cartoons from before tumblr were made, have several of your points in.
First, I'm gonna take a blind shot and assume you had something to do with the making of that piece of crap (or you're most likely just a butthurt fanboy).
Second, it's not really hipster, but it's pretty pretentious. The character design (heterochromia, mohawk, unmatching clothes, etc.), the expressionless faces, the overly-simplistic style with animesque influences, the story, all of that is trying to be passed as something that's of good quality and "epic," meanwhile making zero effort into doing it.
The blandness of the characters and plot is so blatant, and yet, you can tell the authors tried to make this as a project that somehow will pass down as a masterpiece of internet animation, meanwhile making no effort for it and expecting people just to cling on it because "it exist" or it's from Tumblr.
This, on part, it's bad as this will influence other animators on making content of the same low quality out of a novelty style, meanwhile other people who make stuff of decent quality will be either get little to no exposure or branded as tryhards for their efforts for not following a shit fad.
Effort is something so rare in these days, but it shouldn't, and this kind of animation is definitely not helping.
It really doesn't, besides it goes against the mind set of an actual feminist. If they expect one group not to do something they place the same rule of it on themselves as well, it's an equality mindset.
Again I'm talking about actual feminist not tumblr
>you lay out such insignificant benchmarks
This is some impressive cognitive dissonance.
Go back and watch an episode of Ed Edd n Eddy and compare it to an episode of this Bee Puppycat shit. The differences are obvious.
Where did I even bring up sexuality? I just made it clear it doesn't have to be capeshit and men in tights, can you read? And why defend a show with obvious ties to a (probably) homosexual nerdy John Doe and no humor? I think you might have to ask yourself some questions about your sexuality.
Just like shonen is for kids and seinen is for adults, I'd imagine the same formula works over here. I like mature takes on life through fictional mediums, even as a kid. And even as an adult, I can enjoy something designed mainly for younger demographics, there's nothing wrong with that. But the Western world of animation is all kid-friendly garbage now; this looks completely devoid of joke, why defend that?
Comics were designed to depict action. There's a reason people like you probably have never read an obscure comic before, and that's because you don't care to read a documentary of some guy's life. Same goes with other people. Animation implies action and sequential motion. That's why animation has so much potential; we're just squandering it for cheap 2D Flash and not actually making something interesting and well-written, y'know, something like actual comics that have a well-established fanbase?
ignoring cartoons you could enjoy and only paying attention to the ones you hate is killing animation
maybe if you tried to get something you liked popular it would influence the future animatiors
Because anime often has serialized plots, where cartoons do it rarely if ever. /co/ craves what it can not have outside of live-action adaptations aka Arrow & Marvel movies. The comics industry figured out decades ago that the best way to keep the adult shut-in fanbase is with serialization.
Regardless if the buyers actually like it, they'll keep buying in hopes that things will get better and not risk spoilers by not being caught-up.
That's subjective. What is objective though, is that shitposting and low-quality posts have increased.
Just going into threads to rag on shows is just a waste of time and is pathetic. I dislike Uncle Grandpa, but I don't go in threads about the show, or make threads about the show to whine about how much I hate it.
It's not /tv/ and /v/ invading.
It's just the disease that killed them.
And without some extremely surgical moderation that can separate the blatant shitposting from legitimate criticism, it's going to kill us too.
summer. that means you get all the tween kiddies nostiliging over shows they watched when they were really little and hating over the current ones. hell i remember seeing hate for Chowder and Flapjack when they first came out and people still nostligaing hard over older shows from CN's golden age. you're still getting that but those people just pretty much ignore everything from 2002-2010 like it never existed
