>Frank Miller is re-teaming with John Romita Jr. for a new 100-page graphic novel, Superman: Year One. The news was announced with Miller dropped in as an unannounced guest on DC's Saturday evening "DC Master Class" panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego.
>"It has to do with revisiting the origins of a certain DC Comics character," said Miller, introducing the book. "It has to do with revisiting a certain DC Comics character who wears glasses in his normal life."
The Twist: Ma Kent is a whore and Superman goes and fights Isis.

>Ma Kent is a whore and Superman goes and fights Isis.
My body is ready!
And I thought they couldn't possibly give Superman a worse backstory than Birthright
no wonder he was blown up,he wanted to be a capeshit character
>>94097354
In a world that turned Batman, Superman, AND Wonder Woman into murderers, fuck me, I don't want to live on this planet anymore, how did it all go so horribly wrong?!
Is this a /co/ntrarian thread?
>>94098840
Superman is fictional character in his universe though,

>I know what you’re thinking. Has it come to this? Is there no hope for the hundreds of classic theatricals (not to mention the Tex Avery’s) still not restored and released on disc? I promise to make it up to you this fall. SHHH-H-H-H! I’m working with Warner Archives now on a special “classic cartoon” collection that will be announced very soon. And hopefully it will be the first of many more…
>I’ll announce it when they tell me I can – sometimes news leaks out before I’m permitted to talk about it. It should be announced by the time of San Diego’s Comic Con – or at the Comic Con.
Seeing that we were supposed to get more Looney Tunes on DVD/Blu-Ray announced at Comic Con and nothing happen how does this make you feel?
I'm glade that we got Rocko, Hey Arnold and that The Simpsons are back on DVD but nothing about this, thoughts.
Old cartoons are too problematic. The masters should all be burned and reparations should be paid to all those who've been triggered.
>>94097174
No, far from it, normies what these old shorts because it's how cartoons are supposed to be made.
>>94097174
German childrens television seems to be pretty chill about it, it even gets a pretty good slot.

>>94097051
you'd know
Irish man's wet dream.
Okay, so now that Keaton and Pfiefer are in, who do we cast Danny Devito, Christopher Walken, and Jack Nicolson as in the MCU?
>>94096784
DeVito as MODOK
>>94096925
FUND IT
>>94096925
fpbp holy shit
Welp, I'm up. Who wants to suffer some more?
Here's last issue: >>94071692
Uka Uka is tracking all that is good in this entire series with that chart.

The cover alone was enough to tell me to stay away
This never seemed to really make sense to me.
The idea of batman being uber prepared and having contigency plans was an aspect of the character far before Morrison took the reigns.
What feats did Morrison have Batman do that made him stand apart as Batgod?
Killing Darkseid? He used a special gun and bullet...it wasn't that impressive. Escaping being buried alive? He has escaped out of similar situations before. Zur en Arh? That was a new twist but it fit in perfectly with the batman mythos and was an excellent addition...it demonstrates how he is prepared and the extent...not godlike or out of character at all.
I just don't get where the distinction comes from.
>>94096482
It just started around that time and still continues as a fairly regular criteque of Batman as people realize that the only reason Batman can do anything is pretty bullshit against a guy who can move planets
Martians, bro
JLA, not Batman, is where Batgod came from
read Time and the Batman
Part 4 of the Gotham Academy storytime. Final issue out next month, so I’m going through everything prior. Today we’ll take a detour and do the crossover series with Lumberjanes. If you’re not familiar with Lumberjanes, it’s a series about a bunch of girls facing various weird and supernatural things. It’s cute, if you’re into that kind of thing, and it’s a great series to crossover with Gotham Academy. Although I can’t say the crossover is all that great, it has its moments. I can’t stand the art. Next week we’ll get all caught up with Second Semester.
If you’d like to read at your own pace, I’ve also uploaded the whole series to Mega: https://mega.nz/#F!8551hAiJ!0D8WYdv9LoosrQlAK2amng

>tfw proper adaption never
Who would you cast?
>Quatermain: Donald Sutherland
>Mina: Keira Knightley
>Nemo: Andy Garcia
>Invisible man: Willem DafoeOr Kevin Bacon
>Campion Bond: Steven Fry
no idea about Jekyll/Hyde
>>94096146
Nemo should be Indian.
Get a big Indian actor to play him.
>>94096146
>Nemo: Andy Garcia
That's fucking stupid. Andy Garcia isn't Indian. May as well have Denzel Washington play Quatermain.
>>94096364
I was thinking more about the intensity of that gaze, and the only Indian of note I know is Shahrukh Khan who I kinda doubt could pull off that role.
>FOOLISH
>Samurai?
>Halfling?
>Thor?
Just doesn't
