>Cannon Pictures' THE SPIDER-MAN (1985)
DIRECTOR: Tobe Hooper ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre")
WRITER: Leslie Stevens ("The Outer Limits")
>ID badge photographer Peter Parker is exposed to radiation by a mad scientist and transformed into a monstrous "Spider-Man". Upon learning that the mad scientist is creating an army of mutants to conquer the world, Peter confronts the monsters in an underground laboratory, ultimately causing its collapse and sacrificing himself to kill the mad scientist and his abominations.
In the 1980's, Marvel Comics was facing bankruptcy and sold the Spider-Man movie rights to Cannon Pictures to keep themselves afloat. Stevens wrote the script without any references to Spider-Man, and believed the character to be a tragic figure, "like the Wolfman". Stan Lee vehemently objected to Steven's draft, which was scrapped in favor of a proper adaptation of the comics.
>Cannon Pictures' SPIDER-MAN (1986).
DIRECTOR: Joseph Zito ("Invasion U.S.A.")
WRITERS: Ted Newsom ("Evil Spawn") & John Brancato ("The Net"); Barney Cohen ("Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter).
>College student Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider created when his physics professor Otto Octavius accidentally overloads a cyclotron in an attempt to find the fabled Anti-Force, an accident which also fuses Octavius' mechanical "waldos" to his spine and drives him insane. Peter uses his newfound abilities to become a famous wrestler known as "Spider-Man", until the tragic death of his Uncle Ben at the hands of Octavius' bumbling assistant Weiner drives him to fight crime. Weiner had been sent to retrieve Peter's groundbreaking term paper on planetary alignment, pivotal for Octavius to reproduce his experiment.
>Octavius begins building a new cyclotron and crosses paths with Spider-Man as he becomes a criminal to acquire the necessary items, while claiming to be the "real" Spider-Man as he had also been bitten by a (regular) at the night of his accident. With the ripples created by Octavius' machine threatening to consume the entire universe, Spider-Man joins forces with his friends Liz Allan, Harry Osborn, Flash Thompson and Kim Dawson; seasoned scientist Solomon Rosomorf and police lieutenant Jake Marotta to stop Octavius, leading to a final in a laboratory flying towards Space, where Octavius dies trying to cross over to a parallel dimension, while Peter and Liz escape from the building in a makeshift parachute built from the America flag, voicing their feelings for each other and sharing a kiss on the way down.
The proposed cast.
>Scott Leva as Peter Parker / Spider-Man.
>Bob Hoskins as Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus.
>Lauren Bacall as Aunt May.
>Stan Lee as J. Jonah Jameson.
>Peter Cushing as Professor Solomon Rosomorf.
>Albert Caesar as Lieutenant Jake Marotta.

Tom Cruise and Charlie Sheen were originally approached for Peter Parker before stuntman Scott Leva was cast despite having no prior acting experience, because he could perform his own stunts. The movie was originally given a $20 million budget, which was slashed to $10 million due to Cannon Pictures' financial troubles. The script was rewritten several times to scale down costs, to the point where Spider-Man only swung around the city once, deemed it "too tiresome" and settled for using Rosomorf's car as a impromptu Spidey-mobile for the rest of the movie. Despite the troubled production, Cannon was confident enough to distribute a poster and trailer on American movie theater chains (Pic related).

Zito and the supporting cast eventually abandoned production. Cannon briefly appointed Albert Pyun as a replacement, but by that time it was too late and the project was scrapped when Cannon Pictures went bankrupt. Producer Menahen Golan held on to the rights as he started a new production company, 21st Century Pictures, and joined forces with Carolco Pictures to produce and distribute the movie, written and directed by James Cameron, who at the time was developing the X-MEN movie for Carolco.

This is the rogue's gallery of, by all logic, the most powerful man in existence. Say something nice about them.
I like the Pied Piper.
>Owen doesn't exist anymore

>focus back on the show during the Chupaneegre (?) story-time
>see Leela's parents standing with the crowd as they gather for half a second before the scene changed

this was the first time I ever noticed them just standing there
post times when a show would seed plot points/references for future episodes on the sly, sometimes seasons in advance

The shows demise was overdue. It went on too long and its struggling to stay on TV despite just being on its new season. The new loli isn't helping much either
>>94209207
Can't say that it wasn't due considering that they lost what made the show worth watching
>>94209413
adding new character just to keep a show running is at best a stop gap and at worst another nail in its coffin helping speed its demise
Cloak and Dagger

Work on your art
Post what you're working on
"Don't focus so much on talent [...]. Making art is all about communication. A piece of art is a conversation. Every choice you make, is a statement. Don't worry about labels, or conforming to a standard. Just be true to yourself, and people will appreciate your honesty."
Played around with brush pen last night, and made this baboon/monkey's paw-themed... thing. The spinal cord is lopsided...
You ever see a post and just can clearly picture your OCs with it

Marvel constantly shitting in their forced agendas and blatent man hating in their comic books. Seriously, this shit needs to stop.
Name a worse toy company that treats their cartoon properties like shit, ill wait
>>94208843
Mattel maybe.
>>94208843
Their exclusives were trash for the past three years of comic con, shit nobody asked for or nostalgia toys that were made in the wrong scale or had dumb design choices like transformers that didn't transform or the worst, making toys taller than three feet and thus causing a huge crowd of people trying to leave their both with their giant fucking bags filled with heavy bulky shit.
Hell, the magic cards went up to 180 so to make a profit on ebay you'd have to sell it for 540 which I don't think most customers will go for.
Hasbro is Has been
Funko is the new hawtness but even that will turn into the next beanie babies in a few years and Mattel is dead.
>>94208843
Hasbro is the only one that's relevant.
Mattel has what, Monster/Ever After High? I have nothing against that stuff but let's be real, it's not exactly on top of the food chain in terms of relevant cartoons....nobody cares about Barbie media as it mostly is shit, let's not even get into He-Man
Then you have Playmates, literally all they have is TMNT and all TMNT media is hit or miss, and there is far less TMNT media than their is media based on Hasbro shows to compare to based on company alone, so I really don't even know what you're getting at OP, this is an idiotic thread
