I'm not really a peanuts fan too when i watched this movie, but i think they totally nailed the spirit from the original shorts, every characters have their own charm and unique personality, makes me enjoyed this movie more, even though the story was very simple.

When I was a kid, like six or something, there was a girl who sat next to me in class. She had big nerdy glasses, ribbons, and awful breath. Made me want to vom whenever she spoke, and I avoided her.

Later that year we get a new girl. She also has big doofy glasses, and she ALSO has bad breath.

I was the perfect age for these things to forever burn themselves in my mind. It's why I can't be attracted to girls with glasses ever, there's just an intensely powerful association between glasses and bad breath to me, double so if they have childish ribbons.

Anyway, Janette looks like that to me. Always thought she must just have the most disgusting rotten-cheese-in-the-back-of-the-throat thing going on. Poor girl.

They really were. The animation got cheap, Dexter's voice changed, and the humor went out the window to basic gags. Not worth it.

I recently gave season 3 a rewatch

It looks like they used background art team that was also working on Samurai Jack from that point onward
