>ITT: Take a long forgotten Silver Age story and use it as the basis for one of the worlds in Multiversity
Pic related, Superman Red and Blue are just so cool for whatever reason that it defies whatever era it's in. I'd love to see an updated take on the silver age version of these 2 in a world where half of the heroes side with Blue and the other side with Red, with both of the Supermen representing an extreme. Blue's the more caring and peaceful superman and embodies his humanity while Red is the much stronger and more confident part of Superman while still feeling alienated among his superhuman peers

What did you think of pic related /co/? Do you consider it a tale of rehashed Morrisonian concepts or an interesting take on non-developped ideas of his?

What's your opinion on it and your take on the overall final plot?

I thoroughly enjoyed it

OP here. Here's an AV Club review (keep in mind it's written by a woman)
>Perhaps it’s because of the long wait or because Legendary doesn’t have the same editorial experience as more established publishers, but Annihilator #6 falls flatter even than those before it. The first issue, probably the best of the six, introduced both Spass and Nomax, as well as the question of if the former created the latter or was merely a conduit to tell his story to the masses. The concept was intriguing and felt fresh, though variations of the story have been told before. The subsequent four issues served to make both Spass and Nomax seem even more unsympathetic, though they were given opportunities to become, if not heroes, at least protagonists worth reading about. This final issue only seals the deal, with both of them confronted by the women they claim to love, taken to task for years of abuse and narcissism that they still cannot seem to recognize as the root of their respective problems.
>Aggravatingly deranged main characters could have been forgiven, maybe, if the story hadn’t dragged so much. Where Irving’s art soars, the words on the page feels stiff and repetitive, a child reciting a manifesto instead of an adult creating one. What could have been an intriguing exploration of creative authority and the rather insane power of human imagination winds up feeling more like a long-winded rant, addled enough to be boring. Spass is whiney and petulant, Nomax twisted up in fetishistic denial of his own failures, and the only interesting people in the whole book, Luna and Olympia, are sidelined by either their gender, their abusive relationship with a self-centered man, or both.

I don't agree with the final rant, but the sensation of falling flat is something I felt about it too.

ITT we mention /co/ works we've either dropped or never really could get into and why.

Kill six billion demons was something I just couldn't dig through, granted the plot didn't really go anywhere before I dropped it, it seemed like walking through a muddy field to get to something you could make heads or tails off, the black and white coupled with that particular style was a bit weary on my eyes.

Also dropped pic related early s2 when the episode that ended with them bing chased by the water bitch while escaping on a boat went nowhere and the next episode they were just "well we escaped and now we are in the city". Because who want action and conflict when we can do more tedious boring shit that goes nowhere.

TMNT Season 4. I had a lot of fun with the earlier seasons and ship teasing but the new season IN SPACE just bored me. Which is a shame because I like Tennant as Honeycutt.

Sadly no, Warburton's been wanting to make another KND series for a while and this was his attempt to drum up hype so he could convince CN to give him the green light. Unfortunately it didn't work.

Everyone here and their inbred cousin tried to pitch to them when they had their open submission thing a while back, nobody even got a personalized rejection letter so now it's on the hate list.
>>
Several years ago I read this thing where "Even if you do get rejected from those you submit your comics to, don't be discouraged because often times you'll get feedback on your work; There is no reason not to submit"

And without that being true anywhere anymore, it's truly a depressing affair.

I didn't submit anything myself. Mainly because I saw that censorship red flag, and the aforementioned thing.

I don't have a lot of faith in these people, even though they are the "best" option right now, aside from trying to hack it as a webcomic.

Meh.
>>
>>78635703

Did they ever even end up having their second open submission thing? That was supposed to start in like, October or November.

Or are they "still" sorting through all the submissions from the open period that ended in June/July?

>one character's power is "magic" and that is the extent of its description
>it seems to do something different each episode
>sure, there might be limits on how and when she can use magic at all such as needing to speak, and there might be a short list of things her magic supposedly can never do, but the nature and scope of effects possible is whatever the plot requires
>she can even create life, turn back time, and bestow powers onto other people, but such blatant setting-breaking feats are only shown for comedy
Why do writers still do this? Didn't it bother them when they were kids?

Because is just another term for "Reality Warping"
In fantasy settings magic wankers are limited by the forces they serve or energies they can handle or school of magic they studied
>>
>>78635019
>Because is just another term for "Reality Warping"
And why is that still an acceptable power to give to a main character? It can only be countered by itself, as long as you're not an idiot.
Any problem you can name, for example, a bridge about to collapse. The reality warper waves her hand at it, now it's fixed even better than it was before. No effort, no ingenuity, it just happens. The ONLY reasons that might fail are either another reality warper or some kind of kryptonite factor.
>>
>>78635197
Skeletor, Mumm-Ra, Sorcerer Jafar, Aku, Ganondorf, are all reality warping magic users that still get beat up by heroes.

Even in Star Vs the wand is said and shown to be a limitless object of supreme power. Show still has a plot with things to overcome.

I really admire how much they were able to do with a very small budget, emulating the genre they did with the effects they did was an inspired choice, given their involvement in Yo Gaba Gaba it's should be 0 shock that the bats know how to make great television. It's a shame that the numbers weren't high enough for The Hub to give them a second season hut it's also cool that they let them make it at all given how long they've been trying.
>>
>>78634762
They did get a second season though, and a third (though it's only 3 episodes, the television equivalent of an EP)
I agree though, I would've supported if I still had cable at the time.

Weirdworld is replacing it.

Savage land is fucking boring.
>>
>>78632747
Weirdworld isn't "replacing" the Savage Land. They're different settings, but the Savage Land is more popular which guarantees that it'll still be used.
You may find it boring, but most fans like it, and its presence in cartoons and videogames shows that general audiences like it too. It's only a matter of time before it's used in a movie.
Sony was interested in using the Savage Land in a Sinister Six movie, and now they can.
