Is Thanos actually that incredible of a villain to be worth all of this build up? What makes him so compelling?
He's only interesting when written by Starlin imo
He's basically the top of the list of galactic-level threats that Marvel Studios has available to them with the rights issues. It's not that he's particularly great, it's that he's a) the most well known comparably b) the main player in a well known crossover and c) the impetus for bringing most of these characters together in the source material in the past. He's basically default galactic threat for the MCU, not particularly better than other ones.

Giffen did a fine job.
>What makes him so compelling?
1. he's a good character when written well (then again, who isn't?)
2. he's kinda like the 'final boss' of the 616 Marvel universe
3. the whole power gems thing works nicely as a theme for the MCU since it provides them with a nice little set of McGuffins
Will this always be the shining example of an occult comic book hero done right in film?
Spawn is fun for nostalgia but ultimately a half assed film, of course Blade holds up as a pretty good film, the Ghost Rider movies are the example of how NOT to do this kind of movie, and in this day and age I really just don't see this kind of stuff flying for mass audiences, it's just a different time...so is this the best we'll likely ever see?
>>81818562
What was wrong with the ghost rider movies I never read any ghost rider stuff but the movies seemed OK.
Constantine gets a lot of shit, but I still liked it. Honestly though it would have been twice as good if they kept the original ending.
>>81818601
What was the original?
>There are people on /co/ RIGHT NOW who don't think that Treasure Planet was the greatest movie to come out of the Disney Renaissance

It wasn't anything special but it didn't deserve to flop half as hard as it did.
Dear /co/.
Don't ever talk to me and my wife's son ever again.

who dreamed he was eating his shoe.
He woke with a fright in the middle of the night
to find that his dream had come true

And then what happened?
>this is Hack Snyder
>>81817441
>this is based Johns
I wish WB would give some creative control to Johns
>>81817441
>>81817457
This is actually kind of true. Crime is a lot lower than joy, especially in Metropolis.
Snyderman is not Allstar Superman, hes just a dude named Superman. Get over it
Hes not some weird paternal figure you project your insecurities too and his all peach and love and shit, hes just a dude
Remember when Generation Lost ended and we saw this and got hyped? The gang was going to be brought back together Generation Lost was great so no way could they mess up the New JLI. Then it came out and it was basically DC taking a dump on our hopes and dreams. Good times
>>81817337
Flashpoint was a goddamned travesty for so many reasons. DC had just ironed out their last few weird continuity messes. They were ready to just tell stories instead of constantly tripping over themselves. Nope, can't have that though.
>>81817403
It really just makes me more and more angry everytime I think about it. Theyd worked themselves into a great fucking place and then made the biggest fucking idiot editorial decision of all time in an industry plagued with idiot editorial decisions. It was like they had to top OMD and so they just OMD'd their entire universe.
It just pains me because I honestly don't know if DC can recover from it. It was so big. Fucked so much at a time when the whole industry is walking a tight rope over extinction to begin with. Then you throw shit movies made by studio execs who don't know comics, the exact opposite of Marvel's key to film success, and DC is just... It's floundering.
It's sad to watch.

There's a lot of good shit published post-new 52, even if they didn't need the reboot
>Series is about to end
>Critics disappointed
>Go for a Hail Mary Lesbian ending out of fucking nowhere
Are these two hacks, or fucking geniuses?
Well I mean... I enjoyed the actual series. Idrc HOW they get Avatar continued.
They're merchants of misery and I hope they suffer failure for the rest of their lives.
Goddamn Bryan is an ugly motherfucker.
Be honest /co/ how good was this show?
Not as good as Flapjack, but it still contributed to helping push the humor from the relatively stagnant place that Cartoon Network had been lingering in for a few years. I remember it going downhill pretty quick and imagine it probably doesn't stand the test of time that well.
It was great up until2/3rds through Season 1
So it's pretty much confirmed that New 52 Superbro is fucked after Rebirth, right?
Why would DC do this? He was getting really good.
Nostalgiafags were louder.
>>81814956
so new 52 isnt canon anymore?
>>81814956
Superbro sucks. Superbro Prime is better
>Slams a normal human being at Mach 1 through multiple brick walls during his first few minutes of screen time
>Insists on turning Luthor in unharmed later on in the movie
What the fuck is wrong with this psycho? Is he just racist?
It's called bad writing
I don't know why you guys keep trying so hard to understand this movie
The guy had a gun to his girlfriend's head. How else could he have taken him out besides super speed?

Talk about when you were first introduced to AS, favorite memories you have of AS, favorite shows, thoughts on current AS, all that jazz....

I used to tape as in its early days.. lost them tho. All those old commercials... i remember them playing some gorillaz videos and a claymation thing called more i think?
>>81800773
man that brings me back
>>81800773
I watched the first AS, caught most of the SGCTC that preceded it. AS was amazing until it became the FOX rerun dumping ground. my favorites were stuff like Sealab, Birdman, Brak. later stuff like Moral Orel and Squidbillies was ok, but when they got into tim & eric and live action shit, that was the beginning of the end coupled with endless FG and other crap. not popular here, but AS Action was also a favorite of mine with stuff like Bebop, Gundam, Kikaider, Inuyasha, and Lupin.
I think we created a monster.
