More from Rich
>I understand that the DC Rebirth titles have a two year story arc that all books will be a part of, to varying degrees.
>Masterminded by DC CCO Geoff Johns, it will begin with DC Universe: Rebirth #1 in May and conclude in the summer of 2018.
>Geoff Johns has been having meetings with all the DC Rebirth writers to better align their work with this plan, and to weave plotlines in and out of all the titles.
>There have also been examples when DC co-Publisher has laid out plans with a writer, only for Geoff Johns to scotch them all and tell the writer to ignore everything DiDio just said.
>You know DC said they were bringing back Continuity? You don’t now the half of it. As long as everyone gets along, that is…
>Geoff Johns has been having meetings with all the DC Rebirth writers to better align their work with this plan, and to weave plotlines in and out of all the titles.
God fucking dammit. Did they learn nothing from the clusterfuck of crossovers and events at the beginning of the New 52? It was terrible.
I could see some of the bigger books having nods or tie ins to an overarching plotline that's mostly being addressed in one book (whatever Johns is on, presumably, and maybe JL) but working a two year arc into ALL books sounds absurd
also Rucka already said that they told him being part of a big event was optional
>>81898587
Well people also hated the DCYou books being their own thing and couldn't understand Darkseid War/Truth happening at different times
You flew too close to the Sun... now look at you.
>>81898167
it won't even make 850 million. how sad.
>>81898167
What the fuck does that even mean in this context? I haven't seen MoS in a while, did Zod say what he was trying to do to the Earth, if not, what the fuck was Lex talking about?
>>81898350
Icarus, you uncultured pleb.
Why was Iron Man 2 bad?
I'm asking because I don't remember. I only saw it once, and I remember leaving the theater feeling really disappointed, and that's about all I can recall.
So what were the aspects of the film that made it so mediocre and forgettable in the eyes of most people?
Who gives a shit, watch the film and decide for yourself what you liked and didn't like.
The second act suffers from Favreau being forced to shoehorn in a bunch of SHIELD characters and expository backstory to help set up plot points in Cap and Avengers 1, and not being allowed to do the "Demon in a Bottle" story he obviously wanted to.
So, after Tony has a knock-down, drag-out drunken brawl with Rhodey, Pepper and Happy disappear from the movie for about 45 minutes. It's never explained how the military can get away with just having one of their own steal somebody's private property, even if he was being a drunken idiot, which they don't really address anyway. Even FURY is incredulous at the illegality of that plot twist. And Hammer passing it off as his own just by slapping on guns is doubly ridiculous... as much as I love Sam Rockwell, was there any reason for him to personally show off the guns, other than "oh shit we've given him nothing else to do in the second act"? No, there wasn't. That whole bit was poorly conceived, the Ex-Wife joke is fairly good, but it goes out on a joke they stole from The Terminator. And, again, it contributes nothing to the plot. You could just show the War Machine suit with added firepower later and nobody would go "WHERE DID THE MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX GET ALL THOSE GUNS?"
Speaking of getting things, why did Tony need to go all the way back to Stark Tower to get the model of the Stark Expo? Why couldn't it have just been in his basement, so we could go right from the emotional catharsis of his dad's message to him realizing its meaning. But, again, they realized "Oh shit, we haven't given Pepper or Happy any screentime in almost an hour, better fix that", so they pencilled in "Int. Office Day - RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow ad lib for five minutes." Because, while they were filming IM1, the script was constantly changing and so a lot of the bits between Tony and Obadiah that made it into the movie were ad libbed. But RDJ and Jeff Bridges can improvise well together; Gwyneth Paltrow is giving Tony nothing to work with.
>>81900729
So, you get RDJ awkwardly failing to apologize and, failing to get any response from Paltrow to act off of, falls back on pointing out the big annoying distraction in the frame - which shows they KNEW it was annoying and distracting, so why leave it in? I guess they thought this was all cute and funny, but it all felt sub-Gilmore Girls to me. And again, did we need to SEE Tony buy strawberries? Would the audience have gone 'WHERE DID HE GET FRUIT FROM? PLOT HOLE!" otherwise? It's just more pointless filler fluff.
So after that monologue, because a dialogue means an exchange of ideas, Tony THEN goes home with the Stark Expo model and resolves the plot point that came up what by then feels like a lifetime ago. And this whole sequence is especially bad when you remember Coulson was supposed to be babysitting him, and threatened "If you try to leave the house, I'll taze you in the balls" basically. If he's supposed to be effective at his job, why is Tony able to come and go from his house as he pleases? Was there a cut scene of Tony sneaking out behind the couch while Phil watches TV like a kid sneaking out behind his babysitter's back? It just makes everyone look stupid, including the continuity checkers.
And last, Tony spends a grand total of 20 minutes in the movie worried about Ivan Vanko, and the remaining 98% convinced he's dead. As fun as Rockwell and Rourke were, they were WASTED, man. They really needed to do more stuff besides building drones - also, why the fuck was Hammer so butthurt at getting drones instead of suits? Vanko was right - "Drone bettur." The IRL military would agree, and I'm sure none of Hammer's clients would mind not having to train/risk their own pilots.
ITT: We come up with a scenario involving a /co/-related character losing their clothes

wow, dexter could suck his own dick. just realized that
uhh i'd like to think of some scenarios but i doubt this thread will last
>>81899925
>wow, dexter could suck his own dick. just realized that
I don't think he has a neck, so that might be difficult.
>>81900010
but he also doesnt have a torso.
i mean shit if his tongue is more than 2 inches he could lick it without even trying to bend over
Is she white?
>>81897567
She's mulatto.
Reminder that she's seen Grandad's junk.
>>81897567
If she were a shade or two lighter and if not for that hair, she could pass for white.
But to answer your question, she's biracial (half black, half white).
>"I don't like this show"
>Why?
>"It is mean spirited"
>>81897409
Goddammit Mr. Enter.
From one autist to another fuck Off.
>"I like this show"
>Why?
>"It has my robot waifu"
By making a big deal about it, all you're doing is encouraging more people to use it, just to see you make a further big deal about it.
Is Invincible good?
>>81897282
Yes its good. Nothing more nothing less.
>>81897282
Yes, and I feel like this image is obligatory.
>>81897382
What a dumb image.
Which is the lesser of the three evils?
I feel like you're trying to say something but what you're saying is wrong.
>>81896979
I haven't watched any of these but the one on the upper right, while ugly, clearly had actual effort put into it.
>>81896979
I cannot watch problem solverz without my eyes hurting from the oversaturated colors, so it's probably the worst.
so was looking at the lantern corps spectrum- and was trying to pair up superheroes to the negative side and villains to the positive side.
e.g.
Red Lantern - Hulk harnesses rage
Yellow Lantern - Batman uses fear(?)
Can anybody fill in the gaps?
>>81896941
The emotional spectrum is bullshit. All the emotions here are far too specific. They should be more broadly defined. Specifically these.
>Love
Almost always translates to romantic love, when there are actually many different kinds.
>Compassion
Should be Empathy. Compassion is only one expression of identifying with the emotions of others.
>Avarice
Should be Ambition, since wanting things is not necessarily good or bad. Wanting something is what drives living beings to do anything at all.
>Fear
The emotion of fear itself is one type of expression of a living creature's survival instinct. One is not necessarily scared when in danger, determinism can also come about.
There should also at some point be an entity or force that embodies apathy, since not giving a shit is the greatest danger to emotion based powers there can be.
>>81897429
>The emotional spectrum is bullshit. All the emotions here are far too specific.
Not only that, but the biggest one, Willpower, ISN'T EVEN A FUCKING EMOTION.
>>81897471
yeah, I always thought that myself - but hey, y'know... comics.
As good as the story may be, I think we can all agree that the art on this is just awful. Even if it's "thematically fitting", it's terrible.
>>81896169
art in this*. the full page shit was fine, but panel by panel, it was 3/10 at best
>>81896169
I agree, I also only view art in how pretty the people look and ignore storytelling and pacing.
>>81896169
totally agree, could've benefitted from art from a true superstar such as Jim Lee or David Finch
