I'm looking for a present for my mum's birthday, she's Belgian and I know she likes some comics, but I'm totally ignorant of the Belgian comics scene outside Tintin and Asterix. What are some of the best Belgian comics that would be suitible? She hates fantasy and sci fi so those are off the cards.
Marsupilami is pretty cute.
Blake and Mortimer if he's into adventure
From the same guy as Marsupilami you have "Idées Noires".
Less cute, but if she likes dark humour it'll be a blast.
Is he right?

I'm not even watching that video.

Do we really need to drag every fuckwit with a youtube channel back here? Let them languish in obscurity.

People seemed to like last night's Usagi Yojimbo storytime, so let's continue with another!

Why was Korra such a fat child?

To make it funny.

It's blubber, to insulate against the polar cold.
Are there any /co/ shows out there that get you into the mood to draw/write/animate or do any sort of craft?
For me I'd have to say Gravity Falls and Mission Hill really get me in that zone where I can feel somewhat more confidant in my artwork but also try and learn new things.
>>82572644
Yeah and the inspiration lasts a whole 3 minutes.
>>82572644
Seeing how Alex Hirsch came out of art school and just made Gravity Falls which is really creative and yet so simplistic in its character designs, it was inspirational. Made me want to create something that great. The manga Bakuman too. And of course Zootopia. That documentary about how it was made is great
>>82572945
Gravity Falls isn't creative.
Alex literally stole every plot point and idea from Eerie, Indiana, and then pretended he did something amazing. all he really did was get Disney to accept the show and be a little more "Edgy."
Heathcliff leaps into Mrs. Nutmeg's lap.

>extreme affection
snuggles :3
>>82573790
Heathcliff is so sanitized but every so often they allude to something very dark and wrap it up in such cutsey imagery that it doesn't seem as such.
A simple question /co/:
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

Who knows? The SHADOW knows!!!

>>You will never pick up your phone to hear instead of hello, a sibilant whisper of "Report."
>>You will never pour your soul out to the man who saved your life.
>>You will never hear that hissing parseltongue caress your ear with "Instructions."
She's just a waifu-ized Invader Zim.

And this is a problem how?

So if Irkens don't reproduce sexually, why is Tak a female?
Is it a vestigial thing? A cosmetic thing and she isn't actually a girl?

>Two Scooby-Doo movies come out in the same year.
>Both have Dracula in them.
>They're both completely different characters.
But, why though?
>>82570847
If Vampires are real I bet there are probably six different Draculas who all think they're the real deal or just want the prestige of being Dracula.
If you're old enough, who's going to tell you you're not Dracula? How would they know?
They're brothers. Dracula is a family name.
>>82571428
There's probably at least one that'd run a decrepit old geocities or angelfire website with MIDI music that asserts he's the REAL Dracula.
Remember that time Tom and Jerry talked?

The score for this film is pretty good.
We've got to have
Money

I had the Sega Genesis game based on this movie.
Best comic book Superhero movie trilogy of all time? If not, then what?
Dark Knight Trilogy beats out Captain America.
/thread
>>82569621
Only the Dark Knight is good though.
Nolanbats is still a strong contender. Yeah, TDKR was subpar, but so was The First Avenger. It's hard to even consider this a 'trilogy' given how much it relies on stuff that happens in the Iron Man and Avengers movies.
Why is it that in seasons 1-3, Family Guy mocked both right-wingers AND left-wingers (pic related, I was howling in laughter at this scene), but ever since the revival it's been all one-sided DUDE REPUBLICANS LMAO?
Did Seths ego inflate over time?
>>82569400
American Dad was meant to serve the purpose of "F*** REPUBLICANS", but when Family Guy got uncancelled and became more popular, Seth wanted go get his message out to a wider audience. So FG got repetitive with the jokes while AD got more original.
>>82569502
We live in a world where American dad is better than the Simpsons
>>82569400
When is Fox going to retire FG?
How did they get away with it? Wouldn't Hanna Barbara get mad?
Cartoon Network IS Hanna Barbera.
>>82569200
I think Will Hanna was dead, and Joe was too old to care when this came out
Plus the studio folded into Cartoon Network Studios which was originally a subsidiary of HB.
>>82569200
They own all the Hannah Barbara stuff, that's why they were able to use Space Ghost and Birdman and Sealab and all that.
so. how long you think it's gonna last?
I mean Marvel is probably making plans for MCU movies up to 2025 or so. But do you think it's gonna last that long? Not just the MCU but the superhero movie genre in general.
Are people already getting burned out? Is Warner Bros hilariously late to the party? Was the first Avengers the peak of the superhero genre in terms of popularity and box office?
itt we discuss superhero movies, past present and future
People will be tired of super hero movies about the same time that they're tired of action movies.
Which will be in about never.
>>82568462
that's like saying people will never get tired of teen paranormal romance movies or star wars movies. it's bullshit, they will and you know it
>>82568541
If every movie was a rehash of batman or iron man films in structure then you'd have a leg to stand on.
Winter Soldier, ANTS, and guardians were all great films with the subgenre of superheroics because the directors don't want to make the same movie 20 times and call it a wrap.
>Tony is a father figure/mentor to Peter in the movies
>Peter has no friends and is lonely
>Matt befriends Peter and becomes a protective older brother figure to Peter in a netflix show
>Matt thinks Tony is a negative influence on Peter
This will never happen, please fucking kill me
also
>Wilson Fisk in the MCU
>Spider-Man in the MCU
>They will never meet
UUUUGGGGHHHHH THIS IS AWFUL
>>82567691
Fuck, even 1 episode with Spidey would be simply amazing, if I could ask for one thing in MCU, Daredevil/Spider team up would be it.
Peter Parker isn't ever going to show up on Netflix. Too valuable an IP, and the negotiations with Sony would be too much of a pain in the ass.
You could probably get a Miles Morales show going, but Marvel would probably be afraid that two Spider-Man properties going at once would confuse people.
>>82569744
When will people stop suggesting Miles fucking Morales. There is no need for that character to exist in the MCU
