Based on what little I know of the comics from years of hearsay, fundamentally good char. development from any of the relevant characters would be very welcomed.

For ex., is it true Tails can still be summarized as "good with engineering" and nothing else? I'd start with things like that.

That was more or less my first thought when I saw this thread. I feel like there's been a lot of shows and other things rebooted/continued in recent years that didn't do the originals justice. That being said, King of the Hill is one of my favorite shows of all time.

This short does a really nice job of combining 2D and CG elements, which is pretty hard on a student budget/talent. Too bad no one will recognize the short for that and instead take it's success as a victory for the gays rather than technical achievement by the artists.

TL;DR: Doom's characterizationa dn motives have gone to the crapper because they try to play up the "noble monarch" angle, when it makes a lick ofsense, while also adding some Mao/Nazi-tier dictator tendencies.

Simpler explanation: Different writers take the country in different directions based on whatever story they're trying to tell.

I'd also include that Doom is a gigantic dictatorial autocrat, and Doom has a big doom based cult of personality.

Doom also doesn't discriminate against mutants, and has a competitive youth academy.

I suspect Doom would allow people to emmigrate, but they have to swear loyalty to doom, possibly while hooked up to a polygraph machine.

Rob Liefeld being "a talentless garbage pile of an artist" is a meme opinion to be honest. His art is flawed as fuck and the widespread adoption of his style wasn't healthy for the industry, but it definitely has immense energy and the hyper-distortion and weird coloring/panel choices can work for the right subjects.

I feel like you can't really say Deodato's whole biker chick Wonder Woman run has part art for example. It's distorted and stylized and sexualized and hardly anatomically correct, but still extremely energetic and all these ridiculous roided-out supermen popping up every other page and getting #rekt by Diana or Artemis is fucking great.

It's a "broken clock is right twice" situation.

More often than not Rob's stuff was anything but energetic: stiff poses, poor composition, most action is big splash images while quiet scenes/exposition get several panels. The times it managed to hit the mark were more accidental coordination than anything.

90's comics are what comics are supposed to be - in-your-face and full of energy and fun.

comics nowadays are over-written garbage written by delusional, limp-wristed nu-males and drawn like storyboards.
