Dunno about cartoons, but far as comics go, try:
- Charley's War (WWI)
- Enemy Ace: War Idyll (WWI and Vietnam)
- Battlefields and Vertigo's War Story (WWII)
- The 'Nam (guess)
- Blazing Combat (various)
- Rebels (US revolutionary war)
- Vertigo Unknown Soldier (WWI and beyond)
- Rogue Trooper (sci-fi war)
- Adventures in the Rifle Brigade (WWII)

Take a drink every time a cover from the '70s has a villain saying "nothing can/will stop me now."

This was the era of standardized covers, everything had to have a villain attacking the hero, and dialogue.
>>
Knock it off Danny, you're not Batman.
>>
>>83496592
Well they couldn't have the hero be a dick to their supporting cast, people caught onto that after DC popularized Superdickery.

Deadpool means that he will be sticking his penis into Cable's anus as opposed to the reverse occuring, as it did before.
>>
Is this recent?

Speaking of, are we going to get a comic sooner or later where Deadpool gets super excited about how well his movie did?
>>
>>83496222
It was anot infinite comic from anad. Deadpool and cable by niecieza.

And actually his Anadarko main series is about how well his movie did. That's why he is popular world wide in the music because he had a big successful movie

I'd feel different about this if it were DC or all 5 of those guys were actual heroes and not just people with superpowers who beat up other people with superpowers
>>
Even if you want to argue about the last panel, I'm not sure why the others had to be changed. Why would it be easier to get skin cancer instead of spider bites, and how would she make that happen as a grade school kid? And I liked the Oscorp bit.

But really, I don't get the fuss. Comics have a long history of being socially progressive, and often in rather hamfisted ways. It isn't a new thing. I'd rather have that than more reboots and grimdark nonsense.

I mean...I thought it was okay. It looks as close to most film adaptations' variations of comic costumes (like Batman's Nolan compared to spandex).

Most the time the setting is too dark to actually get a good look at the costume, which is for the better.

Just wait a couple years when they "semi-temporary tattoo" technique gets perfected and you can get tattoos that last a couple years instead of your whole life.

It was good but Robin Williams was literally the worst thing about it.

I did. It was meh.
I think most people only remember the red robot becoming a drag queen 3/4 of the movie in and out of nowhere sings Britney Spears.

Damn, when Robin Williams is the worst part of your movie, that's when you know you're a bad filmmaker.

Ultimate Marvel Storytime

>What's being storytimed?

Ultimate Marvel, later known as Ultimate Comics, was an imprint of comic books published by Marvel Comics, featuring re-imagined and updated versions of the company's superhero characters from the Ultimate Universe. The imprint was launched in 2000 with the publication of the series Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men, providing new original stories for the characters. The Marvel Multiverse, which comprises an infinite number of galaxies and alternate universes, calls this universe Earth-1610.

>Why are you doing this?

Because there's a lot of good stuff that people ignored that deserves recognition and even the bad stuff can be fun.

>Why this order?

I originally planned on doing USM to Death of Spider-Man, but I want to do the rest now. I've separated things into groups for convenience.

>Where can I catch up?

HOLY SHIT

This was the comiquiest movie to ever comicmovied ever. And not in a good way.

Is this the definition of going to far? Are we already trespassing that line comic books crossed in the 60's with the expansion of comic book universes?

It was just too fucking much

I liked it, and you're really exaggerating. This coming from a guy who was expecting dogshit.
I just wished Psylocke was a good guy, and Storm didn't have the lame-ass idol worship.
>>
>>83493617
It was underwhelming.
Just X-Men's The Dark Knight Rises, but without the memes.
>>
>>83493910
It was incredibly overstuffed.
Every scene felt so 'important' that by the end you didn't care about nothing.

It's not dogshit, it was too much

What was the last time Marvel's lineup of books was THIS bad?

I'm literally only reading on book.

yeah it's a mess. Old Man Steve, like... ugh. Ugh. Just seeing him makes me mad. Between that and girl!Thor we had two semi-interesting concepts taken fucking nowhere. Like... they're not even the legacy character! They don't have to stall! Can't they do something interesting, at least?!

And I've given up altogether on Iron Man, at this point we've had so many writer changeovers where I went, "well, it can't possibly get any worse" and then IT MANAGED IT that I'm not even trying anymore. And it's BMB so I'm not even vaguely conflicted.

I've heard Ta-Nehisi Coates' Black Panther is okay but I haven't been able to get my hands on it (keeps selling out at my local shop) so IDK

Howard the Duck is ok?? and I enjoy X-Men 92 and Squirrel Girl

I literally can't think of a single flagpole character or team I look forward to seeing from marvel right now though
>>
I think I dropped everything.

I haven't even bothered to keep up with Ant-Man.
