Why does Claremont get so praised for the diversity of X-Men when for nearly his entire run the only nonwhite member of the team was storm and every other member was white and straight?
Sunfire leaves early, warpath does early in Claremont's run, Dani and Bobby are in a side book, Forge doesn't join the team until after Jubilee, and Gateway is basically a nonperson.
Literally the next time a black person shows up as a main character it is synch whose entire personality is that he is a nigger and the least interesting member of Gen X

1. Diversity means more than race, it also means nationality and culture
2. He created New Mutants which was even more multi-ethnic than Politically Correct Superfriends
3. When people say "diversity" they also mean women in roles traditionally filled by men
Diversity is kind of a meaningless term now anyway.
>>83659305
The new mutants aren't really diverse. Dani and Bobby are the only nonwhite Humans. Warlock is an alien, and then the other 6, Sam and Doug are white Americans, Rayne (or however you spell it) and illyana are white Europeans, Amara is functionally European and I legitimately forgot Karma existed because she isn't in the book much
>>83659383
a vietnamese, a brazilian with african ancestry, a native American, a white guy, and a scottish girl.
that is how the New Mutants started.
that is pretty diverse for an American book. The X-Men were much more international than the Avengers.
The main X-Men book had an African, a German, a Russian and a Canadian.
Hey, /co/. What do you like to read every know and then just for the silliness and/or cringish factor?
Hard mode: no webcomics or amateur stuff
>>83659136
The Walking Dead, it's just gotten so bad
>>83659136
90s stuff.
It's so extreme and edgy but I guess it makes me feel nostalgic and weirdly makes me understand the times I grew up in better. You know the stuff you don't notice as a kid? Even though you read the same comics.
Also I love Silver/Bronze age stuff but that's not a GUILTY pleasure. /co/ wouldn't fret me for that.
Redhood and the Outlaws, the tito caught my eye, sexy as fuck Starfire had me buy the book, and I kept coming back for Roy. It's easily one of the worst fucking comics on my shelf, but goddamn if I don't enjoy it's bullshit.
For a HP Lovecraft fan like myself, is the Fall of Cthulu series worth reading?
I personally loved it. Actually ended up writing a one-nighter for my D&D group modeled after the King in Yellow story from it
First time hearing about it.
What's it about? What's it like? Does it follow Canon Vanilla Lovecraft, or all the tact on bullshit.pls no derleth
>>83659048
Me too, has legitimately great moments, mixes both action and horror nicely.
Also it's not "lol tentacles an shiiiit so lovecraftian" but touches almost every aspect of the mythos.
>>83659070
Machinations of the Crawling Chaos and madness it brings into the world of men, what else my man?
>Dismantles monarchy in favor of "democracy"
Goddamn what a fucking shitty character.
>>83658839
Protip: it's not really democracy if you "elect" yourself. She's still doing the right thing by your standards by being a selfish, tyrannical dictator who did nothing to earn her position, so it's all good.

She knew she wasn't going to be in the Disney princess line up so why bother being a notable princess when you can be known as the first Disney president?
>Implying street clothes based costumes are bad
Spider Womans thriller jacket and gold shades is cool as fuck
>>83658826
no, see spiderwoman probably dressed the worst out of the street clothes crowd and gives it a bad name.

What street do you see people wearing these clothes on?

Oh cool this thread is still alive
>brother watching Justice League Unlimited
>episode about the Flash and his rogues gallery
>we are both unfamiliar with Mirror Master
>can make reflections of himself, and control lazers through them somehow, make hologram like reflections of himself, and apparently travel through mirrors
>Flash ends up going through a mirror, ends up in pic related
>he finds his way back with the help of Batman, then it isn't mentioned again
>wiki Mirror Master
>wiki Mirror World
>wut
Anyone else find it rather strange that there is a whole dimension/world within the DC universe that only a lesser known Flash Rogue has access to? Why isn't this ever mentioned anywhere else in the universe, or is it? For instance, has anyone like Lex Luthor ever done anything with the Mirror World? Such a strange concept, and a strange character, it's fascinating.
Flash thread, I guess.
>>83658713
Mirror Master is a conduit for the Mirrorforce

>amazo steals all the rogues' powers

If you're able to handle someone as fast as any flash, you're a top level villain.
Which would you choose if you had to choose one:
> X-ray vision that is permanently on and at the same level so at all times you can see through everyone's clothes whether you want to or not.
or
>Heat vision that you do not know the intensity of.When you use it can come out devastatingly strong or mild heat but you do not know which it will be..
are you trying to say is that the heat vision's intensity is randomized every time it is used? or that one time you discovered it?
How does X-ray vision work in Superman's comics these days? He sees bones like in Smallville or not?
>>83658712
it randomizes every time
If nick was human, what race would he be?

Your about to be fisted by the absorbing man. One arm is granite, the other is oak. Which arm would you rather be fisted by, /co/?
>>83658064
is the oak secreting any oils that could act as lube?
is the oak old and splintery (dry)?
is the oak old and rotten (moist)?
is the granite polished granite (marble)?

Can't I have both at the same time?

I admit its pretty shitty no one turned up, but why does he seem to be celebrating his Bday in a medieval dungeon.
BEWARE THE BAT
You had one job, cartoon network, and you let this die? FUCK. DC nation failed bc you had impossible expectations and requirements for such shows; we could have had something but rather than letting it grow and become something, you forced it to sink or swim.
Businesswise in the long term? You shot yourselves in the foot
WE KATANA NOW
What went wrong?
INB4. Morrisonfags saying it was good
When did everything go so wrong?

What bands would the characters listen to? I bet Kanaya listens to extreme grindcore
Eridan might listen to Korn

What's next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe? What heroes/villains/plots do you want to see join the MCU in the future?

X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Thunderbolts
>we're never getting true Mandarin or Extremis
Fuck Iron Man 3
>>83657727
I wonder if Marvel can manage to get the F4 in, I would love to see Stark, Reid and Banner exchanging geeky banter.
I didn't watch this series when it was new. I think it premiered on Kids WB and I didn't watch a whole lot of network TV in the early 2000s. I caught a few episodes when they re-ran on Cartoon Network, but not enough to say I was familiar with the show. I do remember a lot of people being upset with The Joker's voice, but with over a decade to let that dust settle, how did it compare to other Batman cartoons?
I'm just posting this clip because it's what reminded me of the show.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09FOx0pyuqw
It was shit.
>>83657556
And the embed doesn't even work. Way to be a douche, whoever uploaded it.
>>83657556
It's fun enough. Not on the level of BTAS, but Kung-Fu Batman is a neat concept, they did interesting things with the character redesigns, and I'll forever be mad that their take on Clayface didn't catch on.
