Remember that time when every popular R-rated movie got a cartoon?
It's because we didn't pretend that kids don't watch/play things meant for adults.

Everything's made for 12 year olds these days so it doesn't happen anymore

Yep. My sister took her 5-year old to go see Jurassic World when it came out. Twice because he liked it so much. The fact that we make fun of Call of Duty saying that mostly children play it saying "your mom" jokes is evident of this. Kids have always enjoyed a level of Hollywood "realistic" violence, look at the fucking cowboy era and how every little boy wanted to have a toy gun.
I kind of miss tv show spin-offs. What little kid wouldn't watch a Jurassic World TV show with cartoon Chris Pratt living with his pet Raptor as they get called in around the world because some dino that got loose after the incidents of the movie have been spotted in China or Texas?
Dreamworks seems to be the only one who does it. Disney is APPARENTLY doing them with Tangled and Big Hero 6 but holy shit are they taking fucking forever to do it.
I loved the Angry Birds movie and would love it if they made a tv show with the movie characters.
>In April, Marvel Comics began teasing readers with a question: “Who is Mosaic?” The phrase appeared in a set of cryptic images featuring puzzle pieces and human faces, the final one of which mentioned the upcoming 11th issue of the publisher’s Uncanny Inhumans series. Now, we have an answer: Mosaic is Marvel’s latest antihero, who will be debuting in that issue. Then, come October, he’s going to star in his own ongoing series, written by Geoffrey Thorne and drawn by Khary Randolph.
>That book, Mosaic, will follow the exploits of a man named Morris Sackett. He starts out as a beautiful and successful professional basketball player, a selfish jerk, and — unbeknownst to him — a latent Inhuman. For those not up on their Marvel lore, Inhumans are people with unrealized superpowers who only manifest their special abilities after being exposed to something called the Terrigen Mist. Once that happens to Morris, he finds he no longer has his handsome body. Instead, he’s become a free-floating entity that needs to occupy other people’s bodies in order to survive.
Why should we care about him?
>In addition to the ongoing series, Thorne and Randolph — who created the character — are putting out a ten-page Mosaic origin story that will be available for free on August 6 at Barnes & Noble stores. We caught up with them for an exclusive chat about the ins and outs of Morris’s powers, Quantum Leap, and their efforts to make sure Morris isn’t a stereotypical black superhero.
What was attractive about this project?
>Geoffrey Thorne: I grew up on Marvel comics. They're a large part of the reason I became a writer. To be asked to create a new character for Marvel and for that character to be this character and for him to be realized in this way? My inner 12-year-old hasn't stopped screaming and dancing. And, not to put too fine a point on it, he's black. I'm getting to add another black character to the Marvel universe that gave us the Black Panther, Cage, Falcon, Blade, Miles Morales, and Storm. Also, they're paying me.
>Khary Randolph: People always ask for more diversity and strong characters of color, so that is what we aim to deliver. But that aspect is just the outer layer — the more important thing is creating an interesting person that people will want to know more about month to month. Specifically as it pertains to Mosaic, the subject matter just appeals to my sensibilities. I love science fiction, I love hip-hop and I love sports, and this project has all three of these in huge quantities. I think one of my strong points as an artist is conveying energy. Which comes in handy when you are drawing a character that is literally energy. Also, they're paying me.

Credit for trying something new. Hopefully it'll be good, sounds different at least.
Gonna last 12 issues at best.
Why is Superman so hard to get right?
What should he be as a character in order not just to be an overpowered boyschout?
>>83929394
Popeye with a cape
He should be human and vulnerable. So basically not Superman.
He should help people.
I find that THAT is the central aspect to him that goes missing so often.
He does superpowered feats, sure, but at this point, his stories are rarely grounded in any sense of reality. The only side characters in Superman stories are either metahumans or people who've been around Superman for so long that nothing he does seems spectacular.
Personally, I've always felt he should be similar to Doctor Who: an adventurer whose constant travels put him in connection with new companions, new supporting characters, all of whom see and spread the "concept" of him. In the case of The Doctor, he's nearly a mythological character
Another touchpoint to consider would be Sandman. That entire series was about grounding the truly fantastic elements of dreams and pantheons with concerns of regular people (or concerns regular people might have, with regards to Endless family drama or people/concepts trying to barter with Dream).
With Superman and the superhero genre, it really boils down to putting temporary supporting civilians in the spotlight and allowing their regularness to contrast with Superman's capabilities.
>Movie about a bratty Iranian kid, who was a bit of a psycho when she was younger
>Bitches and moans about living in Europe while her own family is being oppressed in Iran
>Thinks she's holy enough to actually talk to God Himself and be his prophet
>Bland art style and animation
>Cringe-inducing montage where the girl sings "Eye of the Tiger" off-key
>Becomes a pretentious lib die hard
And what kind of girl would openly smother her face into her grandma's tits?

>And what kind of girl would openly smother her face into her grandma's tits?
A Lewd one.
>>83928995
>And what kind of girl would openly smother her face into her grandma's tits?
Did you not see the scene where she went on about how rockin her tits were?
>>83929052
yes, I have... that scene will never leave my mind...
Which is better /co/?
Episodic with continuity.
Ongoing.

Phineas & Ferb
Is pic related the GOAT show? Is there any adult animated show that compares? Hardmode: no golden age simpsons.
>>83928715
If by "adult" you mean they swear a lot and make penis jokes, then yeah I suppose it's the best around
Plenty of better cartoons though
>>83928715
What the hell is this thing made out of?
>>83928758
>I watch lame cartoons that make me feel smart
Go jerk off to OtGW
It's going to be Daredevil. You heard it here first.
Is it connected to the MCU? Will Charlie Cox voice it?
It's going to be Moon Knight. You heard it here first.

>Charlie Cox
>MCU
Is Hank a good father?
Yes. Next question.
>>83928409
I'd say so. He provides for his family, gives advice on life's problems and occurrences and he tries to teach his son valuable skills. He's not perfect, but who is?
Better than Cotton at least.
Flash S03e01 episode name is out and
OH SHIT
gay
Sure, fine. Okay.
hard to really care about yet another alternate reality story when that's what all of last season was about
No Batwoman in Injustice 2 - No Buy.
No Poison Ivy in Injustice 2 - No Pre-Ordering.
So basically
no lesbians in Injustice 2, no buy?
I just want a full spectrum from GL, Atrocitus, Ferris, Iroque, Walker, Hal(most other GLs are fine too), Sinestro (other SCs are good too), Larfleeze, Kyle and Black-Hand
If they hit all those with at least guest appearances and I'll buy the collector's edition.
oh /co/ i need your help
going on a long ass trip (2 days long almost little stops all drive)
Big Judge Dredd and Jojo fan so can you guys recommend any comics similar to those 2 and apps that can display comics/mangas on your phone?
>>83927884
Anything else from 2000AD should scratch your itch; Slaine, Strontium Dog, ABC Warriors, Anderson-PsiDiv
>>83928259
thanks!
is it even pleasant to read from a phone?
Post your favorite moments of the little demon and discuss what you'd like to see in Teen Titans and Super Sons
>>83927551
Damian shit.
Bad things don't happen to him enough
>>83927580
>Bad things don't happen to him enough
he gets his ass kicked often
>Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian all have a thread in the catalog
This didn't happen in a while
Guess what is the theme of that poster.
>>83926721
Drugs?
after credits scene confirmed?
>We'll never get a poster that's a homage to this
You really are a bad guy.
>>83926624
I certainly am, Chipmunk
At least I'm not a glitch, bitch.
>>83926624
Ha, that reminded me of when kids always yell "I Hate You" to their parents.
There any Bastards in comics/cartoons bigger or more glorious than this fuck? I'm asking honestly, i'm looking for new material and i love bastards like this.
>>83926585
"Villains" who won, you mean? Only one I can think of is Ozy. Techncially there was Luthor aas president and that time Osborn was in charge, but they weren't exactly heroic.
>>83926585
If Robot doesn't get his ass killed by Best Tiger and Le Bruiser I fucking quit.
>>83926616
It's not about winning really, its that feeling when you want to hate them but you can't. Those characters who are bastards, but damn it you love them anyway. I making sense here?
