Alright, I need your help identifying a comic strip from my childhood.
You know the drill. Something you read as a kid and can only remember a few details of, so you have no hope of ever finding out what the hell it was, and the not knowing slowly drives you insane.
I remember this particular strip because it was a DC comic (it was a strip in some anthology I read in the car on a road trip as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, and it had "Definitely Collectible" written on the cover under "DC," which stuck in my mind at the time) yet it was extremely gory.
All I remember is:
>It was in colour.
>Set on some stretch on road in the desert. Maybe Arizona or some American place with cacti.
>Some kind of werewolf or something got hit by a car or truck.
>Luridly-colored guts all over the place. Tyre marks going through the wolf or whatever the fuck it was. You could see its ribs and shit. I swear I did not dream this, by the way.
>Long scene of the creature coming back to life, Hellraiser-style, with the organs and bones and stuff re-forming
>something about it being cursed to live forever for defying god or something? And I believe it was some sort of Roadrunner/Coyote parody or somesuch?
I have a feeling this might have been a one-off thing in some kind of annual or something. The magazine I was reading it in had a bunch of stories, including some sort of "history of the DC universe" segment.
...This is going to be impossible isn't it?

So what do you think is going to happen with these three?
Shiro's pretty aces on the surface, but he's clearly very damaged and may have to be benched at one point, even though next to (probably) Pidge, he's got the most personal beef with the Galra what with them trying to turn him into a super soldier slave and imprisoning his old crew. We'll no doubt learn more about the hows and whys as to what became of him in that missing year, but whether that discovery will see him leaving the field or truly becoming the Black Lion's master is up in the air
Keith was the leader in past show iterations so that gives him grounds to ascend to the role if something happens to Shiro (who he seems to have known well and fondly enough to rescue from the government), but aside from the lab escape from the first episode, leadership hasn't been his thing so far. Though he had that keen Darth Vader battle with Zarkon so maybe that rivalry will be enough to carry him through the show
Lance was introduced as a wannabe commander who failed to rescue a downed shuttle on Kerboros during a simulation, a scenario that is heavily implied to have been based off of the compromised Holt expedition from the very start of the show. He's a fan of Shiro's, but wasn't acquainted with him quite as well as Keith (who in contrast to Lance's virtual performance, was pretty successful at saving Shiro for real) was. Despite his spotty level of competence, he has expressed a vested interest in leadership (maybe he could pull a Bouncing Boy), and him saving Shiro and/or the Holts would bookend his arc nicely as he was unable to do it in the GG exercise. Adding to that, if Keith does wind up as the Black Paladin, Lance could feasibly become the new pilot of Red since he apparently drives on instinct as well; though you could argue that it's less acting on a hunch and more deciding to do something stupid anyway.

It feels like Keith and Lance are both set up with protagonist-ish qualities, but Keith is more a typical Japanese anime style protagonist (aloof, brooding and mysterious) while Lance is more of a typical western cartoon protagonist (boastful and a bit of a buffoon)
It will be interesting to see where the show takes them.

Shrio is gonna be taken off the field in some fashion so Allura can pilot Black Lion.
Keith is gonna be a Galra/Altea hybrid, explaining his connection to the lions but being unable to awaken the symbols where Blue Lion was kept, and his ability to open biometric locks on Galra ships. Possibly this shows version of Lotor.
Lance is gonna be Lance
Is there a website that works as a database for rating, reviewing and informing about comic books? Just like IMDB or Metacritic.
Pic unrelated. I am done reading Rai.

What's the deal with Morning Glories?
I stopped reading at like issue 20 or something because it felt like it just went in an endless circle of nothing really happening
Did it get any better? I see it has 49 issues and a new issue hasn't been released for a while. Did it get canceled or did it get an actual ending?
Still going. Still no idea where for sure
>>84159135
>Did it get canceled
50 is coming in July (2 weeks, to be precise).

What are some good cartoons with no words spoken?
the Nuff Said issue of Morriosn and Quietly's X-Men
Frank by Jim Woodring
The Snake Eyes issue of GI Joe written/drawn by Larry Hama

Try some silent era cartoons. I remember this one Oswald one without words.

Fallout the Cartoon.
For HBO.
That would just be any regular Fallout plot.
What you need to do is challenge people ITT with executive mandates. Try to come up with something good within them.

Could not spend 2 minutes on MS Paint to change "anime" to "cartoon"?

So recently picked up Paper Girls v1 based mostly on the strength of the Cliff Chiang art.
I enjoyed it, but man alive does it feel like a movie pitch. Can someone tell me that there is a definite end point in mind for this somewhere in the 24-30 issue range? Because with how much like a movie it feels, it feels like the quality drop off once it reaches a natural conclusion point would be pretty immediate.
Is there a cypher for the space Chinese yet?
>>84156972
>Is there a cypher for the space Chinese yet?
Yeah.
Honestly, I'm reading Paper Girls but it just isn't clicking for me. There's all this bizarre stuff going on and I should be interested but I just can't. I don't even know how to explain it, I just feel like it could be tighter, more focused.

Welcome to every Image book after Kirkman and Millar managed to start selling shit
>>84157130
It felt particularly egregious here though. Like it was the first chunk of a movie script, but with super appealing Chiang art.
Were there anything you didn't like about black panther in the movie? or did he finally become black pantherino?

>>84156217
Let's do this. Starting with a classic.
>Gene Hackman refused to shave his head or his mustache for the role of Lex Luthor in 1978's "Superman". Director Richard Donner revised the script so Luthor would wear a wig on most of his scenes, and promised to shave his own mustache if Hackman shaved his. Once Hackman arrived on set clean-shaven, Donner pulled off a fake mustache and revealed he never had a mustache at all.
This is one of those stories I've heard about a million times and every time I wonder why it's supposed to be interesting.
>>84242492
Fuckin every time
>>84242528
It's an amusing scenario.
Especially since most people envision Donner peeling off his mustache in an inherently silly overdramatic fashion.
