>Fox may soon be adding another DC Comics character to its roster.
>The network has given a pilot production commitment to Black Lightning, the black superhero drama from prolific superhero series producer Greg Berlanti, and The Game's Salim and Mara Brock Akil, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
>One of DC Comics' first major African-American superheroes, Black Lightning was created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden and debuted in 1977. The hourlong drama will center on Jefferson Pierce, who hung up his suit and his secret identity years ago. However, with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he'll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.

SFM is clunky and slow, and Valve still acts like five guys in a garage with a work ethic to match, so no.
What would the plot even be? TF2 is a class based shooter.
Making a cartoon off of GTA would be easier. Fuck, making an Overwatch cartoon would be easier mainly because they aren't fighting recolors of themselves.

Pee-Wee will be happy to know his actor friend is still getting work.

He's actually a fairly good actor but it always baffled me a little that his name always floated around in Deathstroke casting discussions. He doesn't really look old enough. I mean, make-up exists, but it's still a bit strange.
>>86117082
Doesn't really need make up since comic characters never look old, just dye his hair white
I need some REAL closure

I felt much MUCH better when we found out Hussie had restarted hiveswap for the second time. There was a journal entry by the same lady that leaked WhatPumpkin closing its NYC studio about how the game was mostly done but Hussie came in and said "wow this is fucking awful. We're doing this over again. also you're fired"
It means we might not get hiveswap by the end of 2016 but damn did it make me feel better to know he actually cares about the quality of the game coming out to restart AGAIN because it didn't meet his standards.

>With this month's launch of a new ongoing monthly comic book and the debut of the second season of her television show next month, DC Entertainment's Supergirl is flying higher than she has in quite some time right now. This December, the character's profile will be raised even further with the launch of a new mini-series from an all-star creative team, retelling her origin story for a new generation.
>Supergirl: Being Super will be a four-issue series written by Mariko Tamaki, whose coming-of-age drama This One Summer, illustrated by her cousin Jillian Tamaki, won both Ignatz and Eisner Awards for best graphic novel, as well as receiving a Printz Honor and Randolph Caldecott Medal in 2015. Art on the series will come from Eisner Award-nominee Joelle Jones, co-creator of the fan-favorite Lady Killer and Helheim series. Set outside of regular continuity, the series will offer an updated take on Kara Zor-El's earliest days on Earth.
>>86116316
>"I was approached by DC awhile ago, and it was a project that I was interested in," Tamaki tells Heat Vision about the origins of the series. "Of all the DC characters, Supergirl was always one who's stood out to me. I was really excited when they approached me." Jones — who signed an exclusive contract with DC this summer — joined the project after Tamaki signed on, putting the decision down to a simple fact: in addition to liking Supergirl as a character, she says, "I'm a fan of Mariko."
>Being Super will skew away from what any people expect from a superhero origin story, with Tamaki citing some unexpected influences on her work in the series. "I come from a very John Hughes place, because I'm very old and that's my starting point for starting to talk about adolescence," she jokes, adding, "There's something about taking a weekend in someone's life and just focusing on what happens in that time. Although, obviously, if you're writing about superheroes, then about ten times more things can happen than would if you're a regular kid living in Toronto, Canada."
>>86116335
>Another potentially surprising influence? Boom! Studios' award-winning girls camp adventure Lumberjanes, which has already made its presence felt at DC. "I've been feeling the influence of that vision of being a girl," Tamaki said. "It's hard, in a way. You have so many influences."
>With Supergirl now gaining more fans in mainstream pop culture who haven't picked up a comic before, Tamaki and Jones realize the potential for Being Super to be a gateway for new readers, although both talked about the need to make a good comic overruling any impulse to simplify things for newcomers.
>"I try to be very aware of the storytelling aspect, so I try to put myself in the position of people approaching comics for the first time, but beyond that, I want to work on something that excites people, and create something that people want to read," Jones says. Tamaki agreed, adding, "Supergirl is the perfect starting point for writing, for me, what it means to be sixteen years old. We had a lot of free rein to take the character as the inspiration for our story."So I'm guessing this is one of the books Didio said would be written by a nonwhite person

As someone who never had any homosexual urges but decided I was 'full-gay" after a co-worker told me so, I heartily relate to this issue. I thank Bendis for not only making something I can relate to, but that its OK for people to police and arbitrarily declare and aggressively assert the sexuality of people they hardly know. Where would society be, after all, if I walked into my office and people DIDN'T assume I was gay and get angry at me when I told them I wasn't?
All Hail Bendis!
She can read minds, y'know.

Oh, and daily reminder that TAWoG is NOT CANCELLED, but planned by Ben "le Hack" Bocquelet to end after season 6. We are just beginning to chew on Season 5, so we've still got at least 2 more years of savoring the rainbow-fruity delight this show has to offer.

I'm actually really surprised that Wonder Woman has yet to battle a PMC secretly controlled by an insane senator who secretly has Hulk-like powers. Though she has fought a bunch of hammy cyborgs before.

So what's the deal? Does this show cost like $10 and CN greenlit it just to fill up space while their real shows are in production? Why the hell else would they pick this over the dozens of other good pilots they've had over the years? Fucking Twelve Forever is just sitting on a shelf. This is basically Canadian Toon tier.
>>86114440
Yes. It's cheap and the cartoon isn't insanely hated. Probably a low risk investment for CN.
