Why does CN treat a lot of of its action shows like shit? They either get cancelled (Megas XLR, Teen Titans, Sym-Bionic Titan, Young Justice, Juniper Lee, Thundercats, Samurai Jack until recently, Beware the Batman, Pokemon which sucked after Hoenn anyway, the KND revival) or get watered-down reboots (Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Teen Titans again somehow).
Sure there are exceptions like Generator Rex, Secret Saturdays, Batman BTAB; but the majority have been screwed over in one way or another.
>>94717033
Because it's expensive compared to easy to animate comedy shows and CN's been really frugal as of late.
Also, all the shows that mildly succeeded are because of sucessful toylines. Action cartoons for kids are still the same toy peddlers of the 80's and that shit has stopped being worth the effort now that you can make money off of app shit or whatever.
>>94717079
Thundercats had a successful toyline though, Bandai produced a ton of action figures.
>>94717079
This, and action shows typically have continuity, which networks hate because people don't typically keep up with TV shows anymore. The older demographic that the shows appeal to don't watch TV anymore, they watch Netflix.
Network TV is dying rapidly and the old business models don't work.
I've been wondering this for a while. How did this guy, who has one of, if not the, least uninteresting powers in the whole crew, become the most popular X-Man?
>>94716993
Because he's a compelling character with interesting personality and backstory.
Cool powers can only keep reader interest so far.
>>94716993
good writing and stories >>>> powers
unless you are like the brainlets that like dragon ball z
He's the best there is at what he does.
>The story begins with the announcement of Inhumans back in November. As the official Marvel press release states, “Under the agreement, a version of the first two episodes of Marvel Television’s new series “Marvel’s The Inhumans”…will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017.” The decision made a lot of sense as no major film was releasing onto IMAX screens for a three week period in the month of September. From all accounts, both official and behind the scenes, this hole in the IMAX schedule was a major driver in the show’s creation. IMAX helped finance the project so they had some content for that stretch.
>Then yesterday, it was announced that It would be producing an IMAX version. No further details have been released but It is scheduled for a September 8th release, a mere seven days after Inhumans comes to IMAX screens. The producers shared that information yesterday. The possibility of a September 7th end date seems even more possible when one looks at IMAX’s official website for Inhumans. Throw in a major American city for the dates of 9/1-9/7 and a bunch of theaters pop up with ticket times. Change the date to 9/8 and all the theaters disappear. If Inhumans is going to be showing in IMAX come 9/8 none of those tickets are available for pre-purchase.

I'm currently making a podcast (2 eps released 6 recorded) about batman and we are just about to finish looking at the first year of comics. I next want to move on to looking at silver age comics but I don't really know what to look at. I have a few obvious choices like the batman of Planet X and robin dies at dawn but do you guys have any other must reads?
Not just best stories but also crazy fun stuff.
>>94716576
>Robin is dead
Huh.
Bet this one was really funny in hindsight

Bamp
Is the GI Joe franchise failing because the whole "Let's make children's entertainment about military operations" is kind of dated and a bit fucked up?
It's because it's increasingly hard to get guns or even gunlike weapons into kids' cartoons IMO.
>>94716478
How is that fucked up? I thought it was cool
Cartoons are failing because they don't have anything cool in them like guns or military operations
Probably has more to do with Hasbro being dumb.
>cuckoldry is okay when its the hero doing it to the villain

Is Detective Comics by Tynion or Batwoman by Epting any good?
No.
>Expecting anything with Batwoman to be good
>>94716031
Tynion is DC's Cullen Bunn. Just a guy that is as mediocre as possible that they can rely on to churn shit out.
Freedom Fighter? Hero? Villain? Fascist Dictator? Racist Shitlord? Opressor? Brianlet?
Super-Genius? Just who, and what, is this guy?

Ultimate Author's Pet since 2000, which contradicts his older characterization.
Doomfags or Batfags? Which of the two are the most insufferable?
>>94716025
What's the proper characterization according to (you) anon?
>>94716052
More normies are Batfags, while more elitists and actual writers are Doomfags.
>Remember that one bad guy who caused a global, century long war that resulted in millions dead? If that weren't bad enough, he was a shitlordy HOMOPHOBE too.

The official comic sequel to the ending of Korra. Turf Wars
>>94715888
Korra + Asami started out as an ass-pull tactic for Bryke to deflect attention away from their extensive plot holes, lack of character development and lacklustre series climax.
This comic seems to be a way for Nick or them to milk the controversy for a few more shekels.
Unfortunately for them they don't realize SJWs DON'T BUY COMICS!
So far it goes like this.
1. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2
2. Captain America Civil War
3. Spiderman Homecoming
4. Doctor Strange
Everyone agrees right?
>>94715873
Switch the first two and you can get into the cool kids club

Strange is better than Spoderman.
At least the spacetime magic SFX looked good. Homecoming looks like a PS2 game at times.

Nope
Tumblr artists get hired in the industry - animation and comic books - while 4chan people never get hired. What gives?
>>94714834
>4chan people never get hired
Correction: 4chan people never say they're from 4chan flat out, for obvious reasons.
>>94714834
Plenty of 4chan people make it in the industry, they just dont get to flaunt it out proudly and they tend to sever any ties out of fear they will be blacklisted.
>>94714834
Who'd admit it?
