Alright, /co/, I wanna get scared and depressed. What, in your opinion, is the piece of western animated media that best expresses the ideas and themes of Grimdark? Comics are fine, too, but I'm really looking for animated stuff.
I'd cast my vote for pic related. Rewatched it recently and it's just as distressing as the first time I saw it. Probably the best thing to come out of the franchise.

Same, man. It's honestly some of the most horrifying shit I've seen to this day.
The part where they're poking around in the guy's brain and he goes from laughing to sobbing, all at nothing? Awful. It's a combination of an horrific situation and the realization that that's all anything we've ever felt is, just electro-chemical reactions in our brain.
It's fucked, man. It's that feeling of horror I've been chasing since then.
