Doom Patrol reboot
Shade, The Changing ____ reboot
Is DC's "Young Animal" imprint a return to the psychedelica of 1990s Grant Morrison era Vertigo, or is it just pointless "LOL RANDUM XD"?
I'm two issues in and I can't tell yet.
>>87169761
Thing is they're assuming people who are reading these are familiar with the originals so they're ramping up to full weirdness right out the gate.
Shad seems to be setting up this psychedelic Mean Girls plot which could be supremely entertaining, but DOOM PATROL is taking it's time to reveal everything, the pacing is slower. I have a feeling things will make sense towards the end of the arc, but it might not be good.
gonna keep reading both though.
On that note, anyone read the first issue of Cave Carson? Any thoughts?
>>87169761
I lost interest in DC a long time ago but I'm really enjoying Shade so far.
I will get supremely tushy-tortured if there's even one mention of Superman or other capefaggotry, though. Please keep it its own separate thing
>>87169901
>On that note, anyone read the first issue of Cave Carson? Any thoughts?
Personally, I thought it was a bit slow and not enough happened, but everyone else seemingly rates it above DP and Shade.
Super Powers was pure Scioli kino, though.
Why is this still going?
Are people really still buying this book?
Do people give a shit about Jess and her bastard?
Why?
>>87169682
Because Bendis likes her for some reason. Which is why her mantle hasn't been taken up by a minority recently. Although considering Kamala, it would be better.
>>87169682
When will she get her old costume back?
>>87169682
They decided to only cancel good books.
http://www.thewrap.com/deadpool-director-tim-miller-exit-ryan-reynolds-creative-differences/
>The departure was “amicable,” a studio source said, though we’ve heard elsewhere that Reynolds and Miller have had a contentious relationship for quite a while now. The two haven’t had much of a relationship since the first “Deadpool” was released, not even speaking for long periods of time.
>So, what happened to create such a rift between Miller and the actor whose career he helped resurrect?
>We’re told the director was all set to make the sequel, which still doesn’t even have a release date. That’s allegedly in part because when Reynolds’ agents renegotiated his deal, along with a massive amount of money, the star got casting approval and other creative controls. That whole process took more time than Miller (and fans) would have liked, and it shined a spotlight on differences in vision between the two key players.
>Miller, who owns a visual effects studio and we’re told did much of the polishing work on the original “Deadpool” for free, wanted more of a stylized sequel, while the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating.
>The casting issue also eventually came to a head over the possible booking of Kyle Chandler in the sequel. Mashable movie reporter Jeff Sneider first reported Chandler’s potential involvement with the “Deadpool” sequel during a “Meet the Movie Press” podcast, saying that the actor’s name has been “floating around for Cable for months.” The insider close to the situation tells TheWrap that Miller wanted the “Bloodline” star to play Cable, though Reynolds did not and that the studio, ultimately, backed its marketable star.
LMAO Ryan "Box Office Cancer" Reynolds gets one hit playing the same character he plays in every movie and immediately goes into prima donna mode. This sequel is fucked.
>the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating
I really hope Cable and Domino aren't just the straight-men to Deadpool's zany antics like Colossus was. That would be a waste of the X-Force, who should just have their own movie
>>87169578
>while the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating.
Oh god, Ryan is going Full Waypool. This is going to be shit.
But the screenwriters stay, right?

Again, Batman takes the top two (and pops up in the third) But Marvel will be pleased to get a few more in the chart without having to rely on Civil War II. And the modern day success of the Black Panther title is unquestionable now… but yes, today, Green Arrow outdoes Amazing Spider-Man and Nightwing outdoes Death Of X….
1. Batman #9
2. Dark Knight III: The Master Race #6
3. Justice League #7
4. Superman #9
5. Infamous Iron Man #1
6. Trinity #2
7. Green Arrow #9
8. Amazing Spider-Man #20
9. Black Panther #7
10. Nightwing #7
>This week, we had a Marvel super hero book in our top ten, and it wasn’t even a first issue, with Amazing Spider-Man 20 at spot number 6. The first five spots were Batman, Trinity, Justice League, DKIII and Superman. I am surprised we’re not selling more Death Of X, Deadpool: Back In Black, or Harley Quinn. Infamous Iron Man 1 was our 17th bestseller so far this week, tied with A-Force (which was just cancelled), so it’s not off to a great start. This makes me wish I had cut my Riri 1 orders last week when I had the chance.
>Harley’s numbers are about the same as before Rebirth, which are strong numbers, but that means HQ is equal or behind Aquaman and Nightwing by the first week’s sales (although HQ has a long tail well beyond week one or two), so it seems like it’s not as strong as it was pre-Rebirth, where those sales use to be the exception, not the rule. I can’t really complain about the whole Rebirth line being lifted. I thought the Monster Men crossover was pretty bad overall, but it didn’t seem to hurt sales on Batman or Nightwing so far, so I have faith these next arcs should be better. I Am Suicide is off to a good start for Batman and Michael Janin’s art is incredible.
>We’re selling lots of Walking Dead, especially issue 100 with Negan’s first appearance and the whole Something To Fear arc. And it’s only going to get crazier this weekend with the return of Walking Dead and Negan showing people how crazy he really is on Sunday night. We are selling lots of Batman from the 1990s to the 2010s, and a decent amount of Uncanny X-Men, Generation X and older X-books. I didn’t know how much some of the Adam Hughes Catwoman covers are going for (over $100) on eBay for a few of them. Some of those we’ve sold for cover price or not much over in the recent past, but we have most of our 400 long boxes of back issues at barely over cover price, so we don’t update our pricing too often unless we’re sorting a new collection, which is what happened in this case. Still selling lots of Rebirth from the Rebirth issue and up, especially Batman, Detective and Action.
>Marvel’s biggest post-Civil War II launch this far manages to lurch into eighth place on the store’s sales charts this week–but at least Marvel managed to place one Marvel Universe title in the charts. Otherwise Marvel sales were dismal, falling behind every Rebirth title on the charts. Here’s hoping that Marvel can find editorial/publishing talent with enough savvy to restore the company to their former glory…
>Renewed interest in pre-Flashpoint Nightwing and Robin…
>Not the week i thought it would be.Dark Knight III did well, but it did slip in copies moved. Infamous Iron Man did much better than expected and was actually a good read. The problem is that customers now know the end of Civil War and i will have to drop the numbers before it is too late.I like to try as positive as possible, however this is the second event title in a row that has not hit deadlines and had new titles start that give away story plot…if this does not bother Marvel then why was Star Wars”Classified”for December in the Previews.Might want to tell the editorial staff that they might want to dust of the old resume…or does Marvel accept poor work ethic from top to bottom in this company.
>People do complain about the writing on Batman but still buy the heck out of it giving it the top spot. And wow, the gap between DC and Marvel sales has grown. Marvel’s various recent new first issues are not popular. Infamous Iron Man didn’t even make it into our top ten. Now Solo, Now Power Man, Now Champions, look to have no legs sales wise. I am stunned. In the years we have been open I have never seen such a lack of excitement by the readership for Marvel. It is something we need Marvel to address and correct ASAP.
>Little bit of everything sold this week on the back-issue market. I actually think that customers were just trying to find cover art that was appealing from all companies and titles.
If they are, why do you think it's happening?
>>87169307
Because there are several better forms of entertainment available.
>>87169307
>>87169336
That didn't work with DMC reboot adn female GhostBusters, and i'm pretty sure the sales of the latest miss marvel didn't even hit the top 30
VG Cats continues to exist for some reason.
I don't get it.
also I thought this guy died or something, I was so happy...
>>87170252
>I don't get it.
The guy was so terrible in bed that not even this character who praises EVERYTHING had anything good to say about him.
>>87169300
I remember it being fine but updating once in a blue moon tends to leave with not caring about it any longer.
Benthelooney is obsessed with this show
but not this one
>>87169035
I think he hates Arthur. He also hates Rugrats
>>87169015
Benthelooney has cancer
>6.7
>fresh
what did they mean by this
>>87168880
People will gobble up any marvel shit.
I enjoy the marvel movies; but they're a tad overrated.
>>87168880
Positive review is fresh
Negative review is rotton.
6.7>5, therefore fresh.
I fucking hate all of you and your Rotten Tomatoes masturbating anytime a fucking movie comes out. Japanese Moot should just fucking lifetime ban anyone who posts a RT screengrab.
>>87168880
most reviews were positive, even if they weren't high-scoring
>there are people who unironically believed what Bill said about Superman and think it was profound
>>87168779
What did he say?
>>87168779
but he was right about classic Superman, your Byrne-created Superman wasn't the one he was talking about
>>87168869
that Superman is the identity, Clark Kent is the alter ego, and that he what Supes sees as a "critique" to human beings
>>87168886
it wasn't applicable to Silver Age Supes I'd argue
Since Luke Cage is no longer a former street kid from Harlem, and instead a former cop and pastor's son from Georgia, how if any do you think this will affect Luke's dynamic with Danny? Just generic big brother/little brother relationship?
How are people enjoying the latest run? Glad Danny!s better.
>>87171995
Liking it a lot. Currently, one of my most liked comics.
>>87171995
I reading it and havingFUN!
Hello, /co/. I want to get into reading comics again, but I don't know where to start and what to start with. Please recommend someplace to start, or a resource I could use.
I have an aversion for the conventional superhero stuff, so I don't exactly wish to get into stuff like Batman, Spiderman, X-Man, etcetra. (Just a matter of preference)
I had a chance to read certain comics that made me think of getting back into the hobby:
>Nonplayer (a comic about life in an MMO)
>Moebius
>Scalped (a crime story in a native reservation)
>Hellboy (because of the mythopoeia and worldbuilding+artstyle)
>Prophet (features a man waking up in the far future)
>Kill6BillionDemons
I think I want to read comics with great worldbuilding and alien settings. I am a fan of writers like Jeff Vandemeer, China Mieville, Sapkowski and Gene Wolfe. I believe comics are one of the best mediums to let your imagination run wild, so imaginative sci-fi/fantasy are the genres I want to know about.
I am also a huge fan of the post-apoc genre (without zombies).
If it's okay to mention manga, I'd say stuff like Blame!, Dorohedoro, Ichi the Killer, and Ciguatera.
Other than that I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Hopefully what I've written above adds some clarity.
Go to readcomicsonline, there you can find a lot of comics.
About the stuff you like, try searching for Dark Horse, Avatar Press stuff, they tend to focus in different sci fi stuff.
Image has some good post apoc stuff, for example there is a comic now where all the people live underground during the day because sunlight will burn you to death.

>New to comics.
Sweet Tooth
Manifest Destiny
The Eternaut
Basil Wolverton, Wallace Wood, Fletcher Hanks
Michael Deforge
Benthelooney dislikes this show for being boring/slow paced and having weak characters. He also doesn't like the talk about gross things. Another thing he doesn't like is the fact that the babies always believe Angelica, even though she always lie. He feels like it was a PBS show that crawled onto Nickelodeon. Finally, he feels that the stuff it tried to do has been better executed in shows like South Park, Gravity Falls, and Gumball.
In all honesty, I can see why he doesn't like the show.
>>87168080
He probably doesn't know about The Mother's Day special. So beautiful
>>87168080
Benthelooney sounds like an autistic man-child with a sense of taste that only aligns with whatever is most talked about at the time.
Alright, so now that KAT is down, and Demonoid and TPB seem to have gone to shit, how do you guys download older comics en masse?
I was using the Torrent Project but that seems to have stopped working as well.
>>87168510
Win o thread and worldwide torrent.
I go to comic store, buy the book
Most skilled fighters in DC comics.post 52.
The Sensei
Batman
Ras al Guhl
Nightwing
Damian Wayne
>>87167826
>Batman
LMAO no
Nightwing was able to beat Midnighter 1v1, and Catman took on Aquaman 1v1 and fought him to a standstill, so as far as martial artists with no powers go, those two and Batwoman are by FAR the strongest.
>>87167826
Hi /co/
You are now a member of the creative team of Marvel studios. You are among the people that choose wich Marvel properties are gonna make it as movies.
What would you suggest ? Keep in mind that it has to be succesfull, interesting, somewhat funny. Only downeysides, you must include Robert Downey jr. as Tony Stark among your cast, could be a side character or just a cameo. And you can't make movies about or use the Netflix characters.
What is it /co/, what are your ideas ?
Pick a name out of a hat, pass it along to the interns, collect million dollar paycheck.
Thunderbolts
Iron Manlet just as a cameo when Beetle or Fixer is arrested.
West Coast Avengers
Invaders, which retcons part of the First Avenger by taking place during the montage of them fighting a bunch of battles. Involves Cap, Bucky, Human Torch, Toro, Namor and Union Jack. Young Nick Fury makes an appearance. Cameos from later members of the All-Winners Squad and Agents of Atlas.
She-Hulk romcom.
>>87167939
Thunderbolts as said here.
Big crossover would be about Squadron Sinister/Supreme.
Pretty much everything else I like from Marvel would work better as a show. Which is kinda the problem with adapting long-running, serialized comic books.
