What's the appeal to this guy?
He just seems to pick fights and get his ass beat on the regular.
He was a product of the macho action movie 80's anti-hero meme
It doesn't really make sense in 2016
>>88381953
>He just seems to pick fights and get his ass beat on the regular.
Hell yeah. You got it in one, bub.
He's the brother of the swamp thing
Why didn't he walk in, look confused and disgusted, sniff a few times and then ask, " Is ... is that, piss?"
>>88381862
It's not polite to question people on their preferred drink. For all Superman knew, that senator drank piss on the daily.
>>88381862
Maybe it really was peach tea.
Cause Lex scienced the smell away.
Suddenly, the military and police become competent in comics. Which heroes and villains are now irrelevant? For example, the military currently has no means to deal with Galactus, so not only is he still a credible threat, but some heroes will need to remain to deal with him. Punisher, meanwhile, finds he either has no people left to kill or he himself is killed in a shootout with cops.
>>88381673
You'd have to ramp up Batman's levels of ninjaness to a bullshit degree to explain how he is not brought down by the police. So, Batman remains unchanged.
I'm picturing both Spider-men, Miles and Peter, getting to go back to their every day lives and only help out super teams like the Avengers when some real heinous shit is going down, but honestly? If the police and military have their shit together and are helping keep the cities and the world safe, I imagine alot of the super heroes who aren't Superman-tier to actually go join up with the cops or the army.
The Xavier Institute would also actually get to do what it's fucking supposed to instead of train child soldiers, but on the flipside, I bet alot of military recruiters would hang out around graduation days trying to get mutants into the army...
>>88383382
Military recruiters at the X-mansion... I can see this ending badly. Possibly Wolverine related badly.
>> 112. Gwenpool #8 (Marvel) - 24,395
> 5. Unbelievable Gwenpool Vol. 1 Believe It (Marvel) - 5,310
This is the end
>>88381559
But those are great trade sales and above cancellation floppy numbers.
>>88381559
Neither one of those sales are bad.
At worst that's 'relaunch with a new #1 to get a sales boost' territory.
>>88381559
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Are there any songs you started listening to because of /co/ material?

Just realizing all the old jazzy torch songs that cartoons introduced me to.

Are there any other good Canadian cartoons besides Ed, Edd n Eddy?

Clone High.

Beast Wars
EEnE barely aired here.
It was on Teletoon for a short time somewhere in the early 2000's before it got shafted.
After 3 seasons of BTAS, he became pettier in TNBA. All he do is avoiding problems instead of trying to fix it. I assumed the writers can't handle his character anymore.
>>88381174
that's how he was in the comics in the 90s
>>88381174
Nightwing is in my top ten favorite /co/ characters, and yeah, despite loving the hell out of BTAS, they handled him terribly. Hell, Arkham Knight and now Arkham VR seem to be continuing the trend.
I suspect some writers, or at least some people with pull, love Batman as the dark loner so much that even the idea of Dick/Robin/Nightwing made their hateboners harder than diamond. They just vent my either writing him shitty, or having terrible things happen to him in their adaptations.
>>88381279
He was written as angry at Bruce and wanting to make his own way, not a petty asshole who got cucked by his own 'dad'. It just screamed of the writer desperately disliking him to the point of hatred, and just venting. It happens in fanfiction all the time, in all franchises.
>>88381645
he was an asshole back then
he didn't even show up to check up on Bruce after he got smashed by Bane and only showed up to complain about Bruce choosing JPV as the new Batman (offer he wouldn't have accepted anyway because fuck Bruce)
I just saw the new opening for Adventure Time Islands, and i'm super confused. I haven't seen the show since around when Finn's dad showed up and took his arm or whatever. Can anyone catch me up on what happened since then?
>>88381154
You've missed two whole seasons, so a lot of stuff has happened.
If you want to catch up you're gonna have to watch the episodes. I will say that Season 6 was very divisive and a lot of people disliked it. I thought it was a mixed bag, mostly mediocre but also with some stellar episodes. Season 7 is almost universally liked, and arguably the best season so far.
We're heading into the last two seasons now, so it's a good time to catch up.
>>88383011
im not sure i really care to catch up. if anything im just curious as to what happened to finn and flame princess, why lazy susan is relevant, and all that shit
>>88383392
>lazy susan
Get that Gravity Falls shit outta here, anon.
Is anyone else really enjoying Champions? Personally I can barely contain my excitement when I crack open a new issue of Marvel's hottest new team. It's such a treat to have all my favorite new heroes in one book fighting for meaningful causes that I can relate to. To see Kamala grow into a leadership position instead of Cyke or Nova is such an incredibly important story, and seeing Viv exploring her sexuality reminded me of all the tough times we all go through in our youth. And come on, you know you all gasped when Viv and Cho kissed!
Who else here stands with the Champions? Because if we stand together, we can change the world!
-85%
Way too obvious.
Is it even worth making cartoons these days?
If they aren't getting cancelled after 2 seasons they are being put on hiatuses that last upwards to a year. Not to mention tv is a dying medium. Kids these days don't watch as much television as they used to and are playing more video games instead.
Makes you question why even bother at all anymore.anime doesn't fucking count since it has a reliable consumer base that bring it enough revenue to warrant 30 new shows per season so don't bother bringing it up
It's ok Hirsch, talk it out. We're here for you
>>88381103
lol Alex fucking hates this place.
Why do you think he keeps holding AMA's on Reddit and never once set foot here?
>>88381191
What kind of content creator sets foot here for starts ?
Would you fuse with your friends if you could?
>>88381041
n-nothin gay about casual sex with two consenting bros, right?
No. Ew. God. No.
If I had any...
>Generic DnD-tier villain
>WOAH HE'S SO AWESSSOMEEE HE'S THE BEST THING ABOUT ADVENTURE TIME WHEN ARE WE GONNA SEE MORE OF HIM
If being generic weren't enough, he plays villain to Finn and Jake who are the two biggest joke heroes an adventurous series could have. It's like if Voldemort's nemesis was fucking Spongebob.
>>88380971
He has a cool voice, though.
>>88381001
This.
And what do you mean OP, Finn and Jake are silly but when world ending shit happens they wise up. At least they used too, they were annoyingly casual in the season 6 finale.
>>88381052
They're still two silly characters who lunge at super serious villains going HI-YAAAAA KICK-PUNCH! while Jake stretches his butt to wrap around Lich and trap him or some shit. If anything, the times the writers force Finn to suddenly look at the ground and reflect at life comes off as incredibly hamfisted because of how unapologetically silly they are/were for the first 30 episodes or so we saw them in.
People will say that's character development but I say that's a giant group of storyboard artists all writing stories not talking to each other while wanting silly characters who can do fart jokes and also deep characters who reflect on growing up in life and discuss teenage-levels of philosophy.
Has a cartoon show ever died/got fucked over by hiatuses this quickly? Even Gravity Falls got over half a season in before the mulit-month hiatuses kicked in.
No one should make a cartoon on Disney XD.
>>88380955
Seriously they're fucking Disney. We know they have the dosh to make great cartoons.
Why is their TV division so shit?
>>88380915
has swampy gotten over the election yet?
A fucking time bullet.....
>>88380881
Yeah...it was a pretty fucking stupid retcon...which doesn't even make sense
Wouldn't it have been easier to say the serum put his body into death like stasis to heal and the Red Skull was trying to erase his mind to steal his body when it revived?
Remember how his fucking ghost even showed up even though he wasn't dead?
Is this show any good?
>>88380760
If you are a child or a boring person, you will love it.
If you are a pedo, you will love it.
Watch it and find out.
Do you like incest?
