Same
Good to see we're all in agreement
Just finished reading the Superheavy arc. It was fun and had good moments, but I thought the overall nonsensical elements of the plot derailed it somewhat.
>Also, dat awful Alfred characterization
What's the /co/nsensus about Superheavy?
>>88630311
Also, I'm not a big fan of the new costume.
>>88630311
Every Snyder arc seems to go like this
>Huge things will happen!
>Look at all this build-up!
>OH SHIT CHECK OUT THIS CLIMAX
>But nothing actually happens lol
>>88630654
You're right, but in this case, there was actually no build-up.
In Superheavy, it's basically:
>Bruce is happy... and plays with clay dough. Exciting!
>Gordon wanders for a few issues and then succeeds a tad thanks to convenient toys in his armour
>Duke... is awesome at justice work just because! Accept it true believer! Duke is here to STAY even though it makes no sense!
>Alfred mops and acts like a traitorous bitch
>Oh by the way this guy we know nothing about is destroying the city
>Deus ex machina
>The end
However, the finale epilogue was really sad and made me feel things.
UH OH BACK TO THE LAB AGAIN. WE MESSED UP. BACK TO THE LAB AGAIN.

Shit that makes you want to turn off the tv

Is it just me, or did this just end incredibly fast and easily? Patrick didn't die in the bomb, and suddenly everything is better.
>>88630173
Gotta wrap it up at some point. With King Radical dead, it was just a matter of cleaning up the small handful of dangling plots/villains. I'd have liked the "free the president" to be a few pages longer instead of just "jumps in one page, jumps out with president the next page." That certainly felt a bit too rushed, but I wouldn't have wanted them to drag out the Franz Rayner stuff.
This is ending quickly.

I can't believe how accurate was this pic.
>>88629985
It's going to take some time
>>88629985
I try not to.
So....I'm curious what the general consensus is for the best Western action cartoons of all time? What do you think should make the list?
I would probably start the list with...
>Batman TAS
>Beast Wars
>Gargoyles
What else?
well personally id pick gargoyles as the winner but id also throw samurai jack
>>88629892
In addition to what you listed (though maybe not Beastwars, have you tried to watch it recently?)
Teen Titans
Superman TAS
Justice League
Avatar
>>88630119
>(though maybe not Beastwars, have you tried to watch it recently?)
I watch Beast Wars probably like once a year, so yeah, it's still great in my opinion.
The only gripes I see people having are "I don't like the humor" which is subjective, or hating on the CGI for being dated which unfortunately, is always going to happen with CGI just about no matter what
Back in Black (Thursday: 1/12)
>When Lucy gets a crush on a normal boy, her sisters give her a makeover.
>>88629851
>normal boy
Fuck, it's not one of us.
>>88629851
That...actually sounds interesting.
>Lucy becomes better looking
>Her siblings hate her boyfriend or some stupid shit
>Status quo is protected
I hate makeover episodes.

Would a Shantae cartoon series work?
work muh dick
>>88628955
Maybe 10 years ago when it was on the Gameboy, Modern Shantae is a little too risque for TV, maybe in France?.
A comic series I can see.

So what is /co/'s thoughts on Disney Afternoon?
>>88628832
Pretty good block. My favorite cartoons on that block were Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, DuckTales, and Darkwing Duck. Gargoyles was also good, but I didn't get into it as much as other people did.
It wasn't my personal favorite of 80s/90s cartoons, but I can always appreciate that the storytelling had thought put into it, and that the animation quality was what one would expect from Disney dwelling into TV animation.
Hopefully the new Ducktales show can live up to its predecessor.

1991, here, bit before my time. Mom tells me I used to watch Tailspin when I was young, but I barely remember it, mostly remember Thomas the Tank Engine and daycare. Never heard of Tailspin again until I was 12-13ish and we borrowed a VHS from the library for my little brother.
But, hey, the 80's kids watched it, and like all other things 80's kids love, it's supposed to be an absolute masterpiece with no flaws at all.
I do remember having my parents rent the Gargoyles three-part pilot movie again and again, though.
What does /co/ think about these three movies.I watched them backwards to make it a bit more fun
Shit, MASTERPIECE, shit.
>>88628481
This. X2 is based tbqh.
All of the X-Men movies are goddamn terrible. Fox clearly never picked up a single issue of any of the comic books, and rather they just re-write the characters' stories into something truly terrible and making dreadful abominations like the "Deadpool" in the Wolverine movie or the butt naked Mystique. And some subtle differences might have been passable if the series didn't constantly ignore it's own continuity in favor of wanking over big name actors and CGI sequences
This shit is pure fucking garbage of the worst kind and only a true pleb would find it even mildly tolerable
Remember when Megadeth was on Duck Dodgers and they actually wrote a song for it?
They should call themselves Megadaff.
>Duck Dodgers was the last creative Looney Toons show
