Have been wanting to read some comics recently and came across the Howard the Duck omnibus. Are the comics good? They seem pretty funny. Would being into Looney Tunes be a good gauge to see if you'd like Howard?
They're really good but not in a looney tunes way.
>>89168477
Howard the Duck is not like Looney Tunes at all.
If you like social commentary and biting satire you may enjoy it.

Okay cool. Only reason I mentioned Looney Tunes is just cause they're also anthropomorphic animals doing crazy shit.
Can anything fill the void after pic rel? What do you think about BoJack Horseman?

are we doing this now? Is /co/ really going to start hating Bojack, even though it's been our darling since S1 premiered? It's not like the reaction to S3 was even "lukewarm" here, /co/ fucking loved it. Are we going to swing back and start hating it for no reason now?

It's a chicken farm.
Was this the best piece of animation to come out in 2016?
Sure the ending was predictable, the humor was a little childish, and there wasn't as much focus on the music as I would have liked, but the way that the story was told and the really elegant claymation was something I haven't seen in a long, long time.
>>89168180
Yes.
>>89168180
Laika will always astound me with the effort they put into things, and in that regard it's essentially unmatched
But it didn't have rabbit ass so it loses out on my tops

>Was this the best piece of animation to come out in 2016?
not even close
Just finished this film /co/. How Close does it tide to the comic?
>>89168136
he use magic
>>89168136
Not very. Strange occasionally does martial arts in the comic, but it's not all that he does like in the movie.
>>89168136
Best marvel movie in a long while. Didn't feel as robotic and void of emotions as usual.
What are some of the most common lies cartoons/comics try to push?

Was that the one with the big bean?
I still wanna know what a voodoo drum is...
They delay the movie by 3 months and they still want to release a trailer. Trailer drops this week.
What do you think?

From what I've seen the studio itself is in a complete clusterfuck. Up until super recently they were missing a director of photography and almost everything in all the departments he was reporting to. Spark is something they tried to hype up but it has no proper western release date. There are vast swaths of stuff I guarantee you flat out were not done considering they'd have only begun opening layouts a few months ago and that means they'd probably animated basically nothing, or what they had would need to be redone.
This is absolutley not a movie you want for a summer release. Disney and Illumination and Dreamworks are going to eat it alive(anyone remember Swan Princess? Disney is not above petty rerelease moves and contract games to kill competition) and it won't stand a chance. This is the kind of movie you sneak out in late november or mid january when there's no other real competition.
The problem with ToonBox is that they have no real power. They make the movies, sure, but they're really just doing contracts for RedRover. RedRover doesn't even distribute the movies themselves, as they rely on Open Road Films to actually release the movies. RedRover is more proud of the movies, as they list them all on their site, even unreleased ones like Nut Job 3 and Pirate Cat. Nut Job 3 is about Surly's daughter meeting up with Raccoon's son, so it's sort of a Romeo & Juliet plot, methinks.

Spark releases in April, for what it's worth. RedRover uploaded a trailer, which I thought was kind of decent. It didn't look bad for a $15,000,000 budget movie. But ToonBox and/or Open Road Films convinced them to pull it.
>>89167114
Spark itself, from what I've seen, isn't really the problem so much as how it's handled.
Toonbox in and of itself WANTS to do right by their projects and people, that much is clearly evident. But it's just not there. They can't organize what they need to and can't attract the people they need to. They try really hard at it, but it just doesn't happen.
Abbadon has edited the paneling of today's strip.
Slightly less tsundere.
This was the original for reference
hmm, i feel like the face thing was calling attention to some aspect of jugs we don't know about yet?
new version sort of glosses over that
I myself prefer the newest one, it leaves both characters more dignified.
Why do normies hate fiction and need to justify things
If this is seriously how you process the world around you, seek help.
I don't mean that as a generic, facetious internet insult. I mean seek help. There are people who love you and would do anything to see you succeed. Just take the first step. The world isn't as terrible as the facsimile you've built around yourself.
intellectual people learn about reality and make it his bitch.
mental weak people want to escape reality and leave to their "fiction" to feel safe and secure.
Because 9/11. Seriously

Please tell me how it makes any fucking sense for someone who loves plants to the point of considering herself a plant and wanting to destroy all of human and animalkind to eat EXCLUSIVELY plants.
Hooray for Captain Underpants!
Homosexuality in children's books.
We'll never be able to talk about this movie ln actual discussion, maybe things will change once the trailer is revealed but I doubt it.

I thought this was /co/-mblr, why are people so pissed about this?
Are the current comics from the VERTIGO line creator-owned? What makes it different from Image Comics?
>>89165075
>What makes it different from Image Comics?
WB owns all movie/film rights to anything published by Vertigo.
>>89165124
Oh, so... why would any of these creators ever make these projects for Vertigo when they can take their ideas to Image and own it completely?
>>89165179
They don't.
That's the problem with Vertigo now. They can only get new writers, literally whos, and the occasional DC writer who will write something there for a few issues, like Snyder or King or whatever.
The contract change to >>89165124 basically killed Vertigo.
