Can we have a Simpsons thread, /co/? Things have been very bad for me, and they always make me smile even when I'm at my most depressed. There's something special in knowing that a great show was not just a wonderful experience for you, but one you shared with so many other people you don't even know.
Post funny quotes and heartwarming moments.

Cheer up, anon. Life isn't so bad after all!
Wow Goblins art is almost bearable now.

Daffy generally has a larger winning streak in his own shorts

Simpsonsmania
Pokemania
Turtlemania
Rangermania
These are some of the more memorable phenomenons of the 90s but here's what I don't get. Why did Rugratsmania fade from the public memory? I mean, that was Nick's Spongebob before Spongebob. It lasted for over 10 years, it's the only Nicktoon to have more than three theatrical movies, it's popularity was all over the place that it became a staple to see this balloon at the Thanksgiving Day Parade
But these days it never gets mentioned as one of those cornerstones of the 90s. I mean, people remember it of course but not the way you'd expect. Nobody looks back on it and remembers how many toys and stuff were available or all the video games, etc.
>>89627106
1) Rugrats never had a Mania
2) People probably don't want to remember it because then they have to remember that all grown up was a thing
>>89627186
>Rugrats never had a Mania
You're lying son and the balloon in my OP proves it
Do you even realize how many video games came out for Rugrats compared to literally every other Nick show?
>>89627106
I remember all of it. I had the t-shirts, video games, toys and I even had life sized Tommy and Chuckie plushies. The reason is simple; they shit the bed when it came to All Grown Up. The best part of the Rugrats is the fact they are babies that don't know simple things. When they took that aspect of it away they took the heart of the cartoon away. All Grown Up was shit and didn't last long because of it. Now the franchise isn't making anything new so it's lost in obscurity every other mania you mentioned has longevity and keeps making new things.
Why is this show's backstory so dark? I expected that eventually it'd be revealed her parents survived somehow but no, they're just straight up dead.
And the chancellor guy is partially responsible for it and the rest of the cast doesn't know.
I know they're aiming for a slightly older audience than Sofia but from what I've seen the rest of the series is still pretty childish.
Are they even going to be able to touch upon that backstory stuff?
>>89627014
>dark
nah, that ain't even dark for a kids show.
now in marcelino pan y vino the little kid called marcelino dies in the final episode and it's jesus who kills him.

Is Palmiotti 5 years old? Couldn't Harley just say sex?

the idea that Harley can beat the joker is absurd. If it had just been this bitch I could have taken it. But she beat the real Joker.
Which new character is the biggest failure that will end up being forgoten and never seen again?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Its a poorly thought out movie that sets the stage for a god awful cinematic franchise, and I would be honestly shocked if anyone could come up with a movie to fill its place that would somehow be worse. If preventing it means no more DC movies are made, so be it. But if we presume that WB would have made a different movie instead of BvS, then it can only be better.
So according to the Marvel Handbooks, there are 3 tiers of magic. First is psychological; projection, telepathy, meditation shit. Simple stuff. Third is the big spells; shunting energy from abstract dimensions (Cytorak/Valtorr/Watoomb etc) into your own. Makes sense.
What I don't get is the middle one. Second-tier magic is that drawn from around you in your own dimension. But there ISN'T magic in your own dimension. That's what makes it magic; it breaks physical laws because it's from places with different physics.
Anybody know more about this? Has it ever been further elaborated upon? Any good examples to offer? The lack of them might be why the description's so vague.Does it refer to cosmic energies?
>>89626446
>Magicians can tap this power for many effects, such as teleportation and energy bolts. By definition, this is derived from Eternity. These generally involves actual casting of spells and may be limited to the main dimension learned and may not work in others.
>>89626446
>Magic in 616
"It is magic, we don't have to explain it"
Joe Quesada, unironically.
>>89626559
>By definition, this is derived from Eternity
So it IS cosmic energies!
What's the source? Did I just overlook it?

Fuck that, underneath is Milo Murphy's return.
Why do they keep using Harley Quinn so much? Why does she always appear in everything?
>>89625761
Because shes popular but unfortunately they forgot what made Harley a good character to begin with
>>89625761
>Why do they keep using Harley Quinn so much?
She's popular and people buy her merchandise.
>Why does she always appear in everything?
DC/WB like making money.
Great thread, OP.

What happened to quality hand drawn animation? CGI is probably less effort, but it must also be a thousandfold more expensive to produce, right?
it makes more money.
that's it.
Hand drawn = cartoons for children
cgi = sophisticated technology for all ages
(or at least that's how the public sees it.)
>>89625282
it's not the tool, it's the user, seek for talent.
Just because disney doesnt do 2D animation anymore it doesnt mean it's gone.
>>89625331
all it needs is to awe the audience to the point "holy shit this is better than CGI!" and 2D will return.
someday.

So when people say everyone "remembers" this cartoon, do they mean that in the same way everyone "remembers" the Spice Girls?
Well I can't remember the spice girls so I'm not sure what you mean by that
I remember having a crush on Emma Bunton.
...Hell, I still do.
