I watchex this nonstop when it was new. I remember liking some of yhe shorts but not all of them.

I've always been a big fan of this. Honestly some of the shorts hold up better than the second and third films.

Ultimately the problem is bad creators not the concepts themselves. Some things like social issues are more cringe when written by a bad writer than a generic action story, but it doesn't make sense to blame that on the concept rather than the fact that they keep doing stupid shit like giving teen books to guys like Waid who can't fucking write them (in b4 muh Impulse, it was one run that was clearly a fluke given all his other attempts since then).

As a cop my only issue with superheroes is that somehow they can spend all day everyday stopping multiple violent offenses in progress in tiny ass towns

I don't want to see a return to full Golden Age, but some real-life issues tossed in with Heros vs Villains would be nice. Bonus points if the story explores both sides of the issue and then lets the viewer decide for themselves.

I suspect it will be more focused and plot oriented than the prior seasons, but from what we've seen Genndy has maintained a degree of light-heartedness, and from symbionic titan it seems he never lost his touch for developing particular atmospheres

You kind of just have to accept going in that the small intricacies like that will be different. Creative people do not stagnate and stay in the same place across such a large period of time and even you as a viewer have grown as well. It simply can't be the same.

I want Genndy to let out all the frustrations that have probably built up over the last few years of trying to work on animated movies in Hollywood

I want him to spill seething red rage in animated form, hungry for creative vindication in an industry that will never let him fully tap his talents

I also want Mako to come back to life but I'm more likely to get that first thing I said

So what happened to him? I don't think he was shown being defeated during the fight at the end of the episode, so did he just fuck off after all of the robots were beaten?

Considering how he reacted when the first issue talking about that alternate universe was released, it definitely felt like a lot of it was his ideas, so I assume he's pissed he's no drawing the one arc he was looking forward to working on since he had a higher input in it.
