Al Ewing gets kinda meme'd on here on /co/ as a great writer when really he's just a good one who stands out amidst a crop of dogshit. But one thing that's really struck me is how he always, *always* leaves shit in the toolbox:
>I want to use Ares, but here's a bunch of other characters back too!
>How about a modern update of the New Universe characters I've introduced? Anyone want that?
>OK let's take the original Ultimate U Ultimates minus Captain America and they're a space-faring team hunting down The Maker.
>How about a new European super-team, and hey let's have specifically a French one too.
What other current writer does this so much? I actually don't care too much about Ewing doing continuity stitching of like, Bendis' missteps or whatever but I love how he lays groundwork for future/other writers.
Then suddenly,

Source?
Who was in the wrong here?
Nobody. What's with all the false dichotomy and need to label everyone as either right or wrong?
>>94874926
>>94874981
>Y-You are afraid, ha ha
Where do you start with the hellboy series?
>>94874885
I would honestly say anywhere. Of what I've read it's pretty self-contained/easy to follow.
>>94874885
hey man you're in the wrong board. No one really reads comics here. We just shit post bait and get outraged over out of context panels every now and then.
>>94874936
Seed of destruction is a good start, then wake the devil, or you can just bounce around, are you going to collect it? If so I would recommend buying the library editions. You can sometimes get them for a good place at instocktrades
The 80s had some of the greatest cartoon ever made by mankind: Transformers G1, G.I.Joe, Jem, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and many others.
And yet Hollywood cannot manage to create one good film based off these animated masterpieces. Every time they try to adapt the source material they jusy end up literally raping it to death!!!!!!!!!!! They even hire Michael Bay to rape them sometimes!!!!!!!!
Why????!!!!! Wouldn't it make more sense to make GOOD movies and treat the source material better?
>>94874878
Modern Hollywood doesn't know how to adapt them and tries too hard to appeal to wide audiences.
>>94874878
hopefully the mlp movie will be good
Are you seriously implying Alvin and the Chipmunks was ever good?
AND BEFORE YOU ANSWER, remember that wanting to fuck the girl ones is not a legitimate reason.
Did they edit her skirt into a pair of jean shorts for the American release? I don't think that those existed in 1884 France.

What is this?

Nah, other countries are capable of being shamelessly anachronistic as well.
Think of a /co/ character, anyone at all.
Got it?They just fell asleep and Freddy Krueger appeared in their dream. How fucked are they?
What comics deal with ennui?
One Punch Man
is he better than butters?
>>94874276
Y-y-y-y- for sure.
>>94874276
No. Butters is purer so he's better
"Erection Day" was one of the funniest episodes, but he's better in small doses.
What does /co/ think of pic related?
>>94874247
Haven't read it yet. What's it about? Can anyone storytime?
Shit.
>>94874247
Haven't seen it, need storytime.
ITT: Disneyland/world stories
A bird pooped on my grandma's turkey leg, one time.
>>94874033
>she goes to Disneyland every other month
>she's been doing this for years?
Does it really never get old. Nobody in my family liked Disney so we never went.
>>94874069
Did she eat it?
Pumpkins are up for sale and the stores smell of apple cider, meaning fall is almost here mothafuckers.
What are some good comics/runs to read sitting by the candle, having a nice coffee and apple treat?
The Crow, but not for at least a few weeks into autumn.
Nailbiter
Asterios Polyp

Because there can never be enough OTP threads.
>>94873875
Anon, every OTP thread is just a glorified image dump thread. You know this.
TOPIC OF THE THREAD: How would you write an episode/issue involving your OTP?
I liked this book, even though sometimes the author makes stupid decisions.
>>94873351
Yeah, recently read it, over all its ok
>>94873351
I read it a long time ago
the only thing i remember is the piss scene
>the author makes stupid decisions
considering it's a comic memoir, it's pretty astonishing just how self-reflecting the author is about how shitty she was
I want it.
My dick wants it.

how
Make it happen, CeeDub.
