Kill yourself
>>91324819The original trilogy wasn't much better than the prequels, return of the jedi was dogshit.
Can we have a thread dedicated to the best of /co/ related vidya? I'm telling you man, this game is one of the best adaptations of a movie I've ever seen.
>>91324777
Trips of fuckin' Truth right here. This game was fantastic.
Also have a soft spot for this. Haven't played it since I was a kid though so it might not be as good as I remember. That said, most of the Disney stuff was a safe bet.
>>91324902
i played the ps1 version
man it was fucking cool
>>91324902
>>91324987
I had the PC version. I think gameplay wise they all were the same game, but graphics might look prettier depending on what platform it was.
Why Steppenwolf? The guy is the least famous and least relevant of Darkseid's minions. Fucking Mad Harriet is more relevant than him. Why did they choose him instead of Kalibak?
>>91324698
someone executive producer was probably skimming comics and came across that very page
>>91324698
Because he looks like a christian devil on account of the horns, and Snyder loves him some christian imagery.

>Apokolips characters on the big screen
>Kirby's 100th anniversary
>None will look remotely like the originals
I should have expected this, but it still dissapoints me.

Honestly I don't know which concept I love more. I really have a fun time with this show. I wish CN took some timeslots from TTGo and played JLA more.
There was also a Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing go on a blind date episode that aired but I can't find it anywhere online. An anon posted a few screenshots in an old thread. If someone has a link to it that would be great.
>>91324617
>Leaf Hat Ivy
I... I really kind of like it...
>>91324660
A cute

Ivy looks really cute but
>Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing go on a blind date
Should I say it?
This film is coming out less than a month from now, how the fuck is /co/ not excited for this?!?
What's the plot of this movie?
>>91324585
With Marvel coming out with so many movies, it's like eating cake everyday.
>At first it's great
>Then it's okay
>Then it's gross
>Then it becomes nothing
I'm very excited.
>H-hey guys... We're doing what DC did... Please buy our comics... Please...
>>91324424
Guggie DID come to them from DC, its TV division at least.
>>91324424
>DC invented the "oh shit nobody likes any of our new comics better revert back to the status quo of 10 years ago to make everybody happy" trick
This has been happening since the 80s.

It's scary how accurate this is

Huh, really makes you think.

This post really makes me think about OP's post

>I'M THE AVATAR! YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!
What did you think of this first impression back in the day?

2012 to 2014 wasn't too long ago.Right?
i was just happy to see the avatar universe back.
"ha cute, apparently aang was a loser"
Saw some article about America being the first lesbian "latinx" superhero etc, and I got confused. I thought the Utopian Parallel was inhabited by only women? Would there be such things as Gay or Straight if there was only one gender? And is there different ethnicities in the Utopian Parallel? Shouldn't she be "Utopian"?
stop manquestioning the progession
By our standards she's lesbo because she's only attracted to her own gender.
>>91324124
I'm just genuinely curious. Couldn't find any explanation online and I find it funny that they're using a character who has never been descriminated against or has any connection to the "Latinx" culture to represent them.
How many earth lanterns do we need
>>91322707
Enough to outnumber all the filthy Xenos.
But seriously, I think it would be better if they reformed it. Every planet gets a certain number of rings based on population and tech level advancement. Earth is at a tech level where 1 billion people equal 1 green Latern. So these six plus a spare. Or maybe not as all these murder sprees put the population under 7 billion.
Really make Green Laterns the cops. 1 guy can't patrol a entire sector that is 1/3000 done thing of the universe. Far too big. But he could in shifts protect a heavily populated world.
>John and Hal as 2814 Lanterns, Kyle and Guy and Honor Guard
>Hal was banished, Kyle went rogue, John and Guy became the 2814 Lanterns
>2814 loses its Green Lanterns, is protected by Guy Gardner's Red Lanterns and Simon Baz
>John is now leader of the Corps, Hal, Guy and Kyle are his generals, Simon and Jessica are the 2814 Lanterns
The sector never had more than 2 Green Lanterns since the return of the Corps.
>>91322707
Considering Jess and Simon are the only lanterns that have been on earth the last year, I'd say two.
ITT: Those that didn't get a happy ending.

>>91322578
Elric made bad choices but fuck, the ending is harsh.
>>91322615
>Completely mindbroken and sealed in a bubble
Yeesh.
Back in 2010-2011, a lot of Marvel runs had pretty decent endings, almost like a point for dropping out. That was just a bit before things started going seriously downhill.
What do you guys think? Could this have been their way of saying "Thanks for reading, True Believers, we had a good run!"?
>>91321917
This is the sad truth of having stories always continue, those happy endings don't last. When you go past the big moment, they become less big.
Every character in Star Wars will die and be replaced with a new cast member. Any post credits scene for Logan would completely undo the final moment of the film.
>>91321917
2011 was the year Perlmutter gutted the editorial, so those books were in a lot of ways the last stand of a lot of editors at the time.
>>91322042
That makes way too much sense. I think it was also when they got their all-new, all-different diversity (push) department, right?
LE DIVERSITY IS KILLING LE COMI-
>Okay some things need to be said:
>1. If you’re going to write a smug thunk-piece about the “failure” of “diversity” in comics, maybe don’t use the cover image of a book that’s had 4 collections on the NYT graphic books bestseller list, won a Hugo and cleaned up at Angouleme. Just because you HOPE it’s on the chopping block, oh Riders of the Brohirrim, doesn’t mean it is.
>2. I will tell you exactly why Ms Marvel works: it didn’t set out to be Ms Marvel. We were originally going to pitch it as a 10 issue limited series. I had a 3 issue exit strategy because I assumed we were going to get canned. There was no “diversity initiative” anywhere–getting that thing made at all was a struggle. It was a given that any character without AT LEAST a 20-year history would tank. Everybody, myself included, assumed this series was going to work out the same way.
>3. That freed us–by “us” I mean the whole creative team–to tell exactly the story we wanted to tell. We had nothing to lose, nothing to overcome but low expectations. That gave us room to break a lot of rules.
>>91321874
>STUFF THAT IS DIFFICULT TO REPLICATE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAN:
>1. Unexpected audiences. We are at a point in history when the role of religion is at a tremendous inflection point. What I didn’t realize was that the anxieties felt by young Muslims are also felt by young Mormons, evangelicals, orthodox Jews, and others. A h-u-g-e reason Ms Marvel has struck the chord it has is because it deals with the role of traditionalist faith in the context of social justice, and there was–apparently–an untapped audience of people from a wide variety of faith backgrounds who were eager for a story like this. Nobody could have predicted or planned for that. That’s being in the right place at the right time with the right story burning a hole in your pocket. Plenty of other stuff I’ve written and liked has fallen with a huge thud. That’s the norm. Exceptions are great when they happen, but hard to plan.
>2. The paradox of low expectations. The bar was set pretty low for Ms Marvel, but because of Ms Marvel’s success, that bar got set much higher for similar books that came later.
>>91321883
>STUFF THAT IS ENTIRELY AVOIDABLE:
>1. This is a personal opinion, but IMO launching a legacy character by killing off or humiliating the original character sets the legacy character up for failure. Who wants a legacy if the legacy is shitty?
>2. Diversity as a form of performative guilt doesn’t work. Let’s scrap the word diversity entirely and replace it with authenticity and realism. This is not a new world. This is *the world.*
>3. Never try to be the next whoever. Be the first and only you. People smell BS a mile away.
>4. The direct market and the book market have diverged. Never the twain shall meet. We need to accept this and move on, and market accordingly.
>5. Not for nothing, but there is a direct correlation between the quote unquote “diverse” Big 2 properties that have done well (Luke Cage, Black Panther, Ms Marvel, Batgirl) and properties that have A STRONG SENSE OF PLACE. It’s not “diversity” that draws those elusive untapped audiences, it’s *particularity.* This is a vital distinction nobody seems to make. This goes back to authenticity and realism.
>AND FINALLY
>On a practical level, this is not really a story about “diversity” at all. It’s a story about the rise of YA comics. If you look at it that way, the things that sell and don’t sell (AND THE MARKETS THEY SELL IN VS THE MARKETS THEY DON’T SELL IN) start to make a different kind of sense.
hmm really activates those almonds don't you think?
>>91321874
>If you’re going to write a smug thunk-piece about the “failure” of “diversity” in comics, maybe don’t use the cover image of a book that’s had 4 collections on the NYT graphic books bestseller list, won a Hugo and cleaned up at Angouleme.
Isn't this the book that's now selling under 20k?
