Just the idea of Jack and the Guardian meeting one last time and then cutting to credits is a perfect way to end the series.
Gennedy holds true to his foreshadowing of how Jack gets to the past, and fans are happier for it.
Plus, if he did try to rule in order to help rebuild the world Aku destroyed, it'd make more sense as to why he'd be in a king's garb when they face off.

That's what I like about it: We get closure for the future, but us knowing through foreshadowing that Jack can beat the Guardian this time would help provide closure that he finally reached his goal.
I suppose one good way to show what his actions resulted in would be an after credits scene, where we see a glimpse of the future that Jack forged. Just a simple look at modern Tokyo maybe, into a museum, where we see depictions of Jack's successful battle.

A good amount of characters in Steven Universe have their hands drown like shit.
There is a reason why animation stuck with the 4 finger hand look for certain types of humanoids and the 5 finger look is reserved for more human looking ones.
However SU ignores this and shows exactly how not to draw 5 fingers on characters.
