I just hope this one is closer to the comics.

Movie Hellboy was kind of sadsack, honestly. Moping over girls, being petulant, that sorta thing. Hopefully this one is more Mad Max and less Spider-Man.

Frankly, I'm not mad this will get another director and lead. I've only seen Golden Army and if they were stuck with the girl who had a shit actress the whole new movie could've been toast.

Golden Army had 10/10 visuals, but GDT was stealing from Beksiński like a motherfucker.

I've been thinking about that lately, and I remembered this scene.

I think you're right that Rick is too good at what he does. I think that when Rick began traveling dimensions and learned that he would get a Morty for the sole purpose of being fodder, he wanted to take a different route.

I think he helped raise his original Morty to be smart, to be the Mortiest Morty like he's the Rickest Rick.

And when Morty learned what his true purpose in life was...

I think at some point, Rick had to kill his own Morty, not knowing that Morty survived. Rick was able to obtain another Morty and has purposely been treating him shittier, so as not to repeat his mistake.

That's why he cried over the image of Morty. He wasn't just attached to his original because he was Rick's original... he was reminded of how badly he fucked up when he tried to be too good at what he does.

He has to try to be nice. It's not easy for him to do. His natural state is selfishness. That's why he's compelling; the audience is never sure if he's going to try or not. Sympathy is not the goal, it's a product of this. You aren't SUPPOSED to sympathize with all of Bojack's actions, but you want to, because you want him to always try to be better. But that isn't what he does.
