I don't know about heroes, but I do know that there's two DC villains that have showed up occasionally who only exist to provide infrastructure for other villains: the Tailor makes all their custom uniforms, and the Carpenter builds their lairs.

Basically, DC is just cherrypicking previous continuity to what they see fit and/or to what old readers would like to see again. But the way it affects the universe varies with each title.

Flash's still pretty much the same even with the addition of the two Wallys. Dr Silas and Daniel West were recently mentioned.

Superman and WW are probably the ones having the biggest shake up.

When it comes to titles like Batman or Green Lantern, which were the less affected by the new 52, it's just business as usual.

Regarding JSA, it's implied that Johnny Thunder is responsible for their disappearance, even though Jay is currently trapped in the speedforce and Kent Nelson has been kicking around.

This for instance. Aku retreats to the Pit of Hate, seemingly for fifty years after he destroys the last time portal. They want him to come back and be a presence in the world again.

You're confusing sympathy with empathy.

You don't feel empathy for Freeze because his methods are extreme and often violent.

You feel sympathy though because you understand what his reason is.

Or at least you should, because if you really don't sympathize with someone who is desperate to cure their wife's terminal condition I don't know what's wrong with you.

Disney's Genie didn't seem to work in that jerky, ultra-nitpicky way. He didn't fuck everyone else over to benefit the wisher. For instance, Jafar wished to be the most powerful sorcerer in the world- Genie could've just taken away the abilities of all other sorcerers in the world, but instead made Jafar an absolute badass.

Also Genies can't kill anyone. Forcing people to die of a disease probably falls under that category.
