some random thoughts:

1. super surprised with damien and hugo's routes. they were probably my favorite when i didn't care much for the characters beforehand. really sweet and well-written

2. brian's route was really disappointing just because of how fucking autistic the mc acts about the competition thing. like damn give it a rest, i wanted him to settle down but he kept taking it so seriously it killed the mood

3. the death scenes made me die of laughter

4. robert is just as much of a shithead as joseph and idg the people defending robert as a poor baby who needs love while hating joseph. between initiating sex with a married man and purposely avoiding his daughter and isolating himself from her, robert has a lot of shitty qualities too. that's okay. it makes him human. i like both robert and joseph but neither of them is better than the other

I think people are easier on Robert because he knows he's fucked up a lot and he's so full of self loathing as a result. If you get his good end he prioritizes becoming a better, healthier person over pursuing a relationship.

As for Joseph, even without the cult stuff he just comes across as shady. His story pings a lot of the manipulative shit serial cheaters say to garner sympathy. Hell, even if you do only the bare minimum of interaction and end up with someone else he still tries to put out feelers for a hook up. Yeah, he'll break things off to work on his marriage in his good end but that just makes the postcard you get feel extra slimy.

From him I get the feeling that he honestly wants to save his marriage. When you're in his house you can see on the floor a silver necklace he bought for Mary tossed on the floor. His interactions with Mary seem honest to me.
But Joseph is also attracted to you from the very beggining, since his first date, and in the epilogue he looks sad that you choose another dad over him, and hopeful to catch your interest.
I guess both of that stuff collide with each other, and in the end, he feels more secure chosing his marriage and kids over you. He's a bit difficult to read honestly.

Still downloaded it and am still playing it because why not? I like dating sims and this seems to have attracted a larger fanbase thanks to it being made by GameGrumps.
