Anyone ever try making their own liqueurs? I'm trying some coffee liqueur for the first time.
Recipe:
1 1/2 cups cold brewed coffee
1 1/2 cups dark rum
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
I did home made coffee liqueur last week. Got the recipe from google. It was pretty much like this.
Coffee
>Boil water on stove
>Put coffee in water
>Put vanilla bean scrapings in coffee water
>Turn heat off
>Remove from stove
>Let it sit over night
Simple Syrup
>Boil water
>Put sugar in water
>Stir sugar water until it's sticky
>Wait for it too cool down
>Put in fridge
Coffee Liqueur
>Strain coffee
>Mix coffee with vodka
>Mix vanilla extract with coffee vodka
>Mix simple syrup with vanilla coffee vodka
Liqueur? I hardly know her!

Yeah, I love mixing liquor. I mix tequila and high quality whiskey often and just sip it. My tip? Leave it to rest for an hour after mixing to ensure the flavours are fully infused.
Been thinking about making my own Falernum, should probably give it a go soon.

What are you talking about

I looked up recipes too but made some changes. I'm hoping it works out. I wanted a 20% abv so equal parts coffee and rum.
I didn't make syrup just dissolved the sugar.
Did you let yours age for a few weeks?

Made my own Absinthe by infusing all the traditional herbs ( wormwood, juniper,...) and it tasted proper but didn't turn cloudy when I added water. Oh well.. I got drunk

I didn't, but if I make it again I will. This was just sort of a spontaneous thing.
