My dad somehow ended up spending more than 1700 dollars just to feed two people (him and my brother) last month.
What are some recipes I can give them to help them spend less fucking money? They don't want to eat like me (I eat mostly bean and rice soup) so I need some suggestions

Did they go out for every single meal?
>>8522382
I think for most of them, yeah. And the only time I ever see them cooking it's either steaks or hamburgers
>>8522380
Just curious, but what is your interest in them saving money? They can't eat the money, maybe they are just having a good time together.

because the taxes are due in 2 months and he has $0 fucking dollars in his savings account
I already had to sell a lot of my shit to pay off the last installment, and I don't want to have to bail their asses out again
>>8522386
Well, start with not doing that. Tell their dumbasses to start cooking. Big value packs of (on sale/clearance) meat, in-season vegetables, big bags of rice, pasta, and potatoes. This isn't hard. Honestly sounds like they're just lazy

I see, yeah, that sucks. Maybe introduce them for some youtube videos food for beginners

>1700 dollars
Fuck.
I don't even earn that much.
Yet, I still have a nice meal every single day, often even inviting friends and I still have money left over after all my expenses.
Is your dad retarded.
Or Donal Trump?

They could home cook steak, salmon and lobster and they wouldn't spend as much.
Don't order in, don't go out.
Get them grilling. Get them iron pans and show them YouTube videos about riveted and get them on that meme. Then show them tasty videos. All of that will still be cheaper.

Don't bother, he won't listen to you
You should tell them to start a food channel on youtube with their daily feeds. Then they can afford their diet with youtube money. win win situation

I somehow spent nearly the same, op. And that's on whole food groceries--I cook everything, everyday. I used to spend about 500/mo. I switched from a vegetarian diet to meat errday, and holy jesus I was stunned when I sat down to look at the receipts.
So I guess the solution for you op is to do what I was doing: eat vegetarian and starve.

Run the fuck away. They sound really fucking dumb if they spend that much money without thinking even though they don't have any money.
You tell them to cook at home, with meat only coming on the table once or twice a week, maybe some one-pan meals (just google it) and then you take your stuff and get outta there. You don't want people like that eating up your time and money, even if they're family.

Oh, and tell them that they should buy off-brand. And less snacks.

How fat are they? I'm not sure if I could spend $850 a month on food just for myself even if I was eating steak every day.

>be estonian
>can eat for 10 bucks a week
That's about $28 a day per person, I could have a lobster tail and steak every day for that much and still have change for sides.
