I took off work today due to an upset stomach. I"m going to take tomorrow off too. I haven't decided if I want to make it myself or just buy dat Chunky.
chicken broth
rice
lemon juice
>slice carrots and celery to equal thickness
>put chicken base and carrots in pot of water and bring to a rolling boil
>add noodles and celery
>cover and turn off fire
>wait 30 minutes
Roast: Chicken, carrots, celery, onion.
De-bone chicken and set meat aside in fridge.
Add the following to a stock pot:
Chicken bones
Roasted carrot
Roasted celery
Roasted onion
Fresh thyme
Fresh rosemary
Fresh sage
Bay leafs
Whole garlic
Black pepper corns
Pinch dry turmeric (for color)
Simmer between 3-6 hours.
Remove stock ingredients and strain liquid.
Add liquid back to clean stock pot.
Add fresh carrot, celery, onion, roasted chicken meat.
Simmer until vegetables are soft.
When nearly done add egg noodles and simmer for an additional 3 minutes, then turn the stove off to prevent overcooking of noodles (will finish with residual heat).
Bowl and serve.
