Made this tofu dish tonight, as a skeptic. It's good, tofu feels different but it's not terrible and it absorbs flavor well and takes on a decent bit of chew when cut thin and pan fried on both sides.
firm tofu
bean sprouts
chives
white beech mushrooms
garlic
kimchi
soy sauce
sesame oil
salt
pepper
red pepper flake
pan fry tofu slices separately, cook other ingredients together in a pan and mix when tofu is done. Really good served over rice - I suggest going on the spicier end

Sounds pretty good, my girlfriend makes a similar dish with green beans instead of tofu
Im a meat fag but throw some more spice like you said and id give it a shot

If you're gonna cook without meat that looks like a good way to go. How well did the beech mushrooms stand up to all that spice? Did the get lost, or could you still taste them?

I think they contributed to the earthiness but yeah individually they just absorbed the spice. Nice texture though, a bit of bite while the bean sprouts were a bit of snap

Last night i did those mushrooms with noodles in ginger, scallions soy sauce and oyster sauce. Came out pretty good (sorry no pic).
